The Good Morning Thread

Morning Spies, unfortunately woke up to more of this crap this morning. Started building cabinets yesterday, now I’ll be finishing them with snow gym this morning then a nice long sauna, back to the cabinets and probably groceries later on.

Good Morning everyone!!  Yesterday was a pretty good day of golf.  Played our sister course across the river, and it's much drier than our course.  I actually got some roll.  Woo Hoo!  

I managed to play double-bogey-free  but birdie-free  for a round of 80.  The grass is much different than ours; fairways and greens, and the greens are much, much slower!  Highlight was my 3rd shot on a very uphill par 4.  Hit a good 2nd shot but pulled it a little; would have been on the green but caught the front edge and rolled down the slope so that a deep bunker was between me and the pin tucked right behind the bunker; no green to work with.  On the upslope I hit a full 60º flop shot that only went about 15 yards and finished 4 feet from the hole and a nice par save.

This was only my 2nd 18-hole round this year and while I felt tired, it was nothing like my collapse last weekend.  Met an old friend of mine at the course that I played with 32 years ago.  He was a single digit hcp, and I think he still is.  He was one of 9 captains for this course's Saturday Big Money gangsome.  We traded heart attack stories; he has a pacemaker!!   We have an early tee time at our course today, but it rained for an hour this morning and it's 32º; might have a frost delay.

Hope everyone has a great day watching WMPO and the Super Bowl.  I have no horse in either race, but they should be a good watch.

Good morning, hope you all have a great Sunday.

I don't care about the Super Bowl, I really don't - the Lions didn't make it again, so I will default to my usual stance on all things Super Bowl: ho hum.

Except the commercials.  I'll watch the first half just to see the commercials since they always create a buzz.

Other than that I'll not have much of a chance to swing a club today.  Sundays we usually try to have dinner with the daughter and grandkids and today that will include a short drive to a great seafood restaurant.  So all time constraints considered, not much chance of playing golf today.

Good morning! Going to church this morning and then we’ll be making food for the week. Including some sausage chip dip to enjoy during the game, if we have a chance to watch any of it. I’m not really rooting for anyone but I grew up a 49ers fan because of Jerry Rice and Steve Young. I had a lefty friend in elementary school who pretended to be Young and I pretended to be Rice and we had a blast beating everyone on the playground! Haha

You and Martha aren't on a schedule at home, are you - can't you make a longer trip out of it .. maybe stop over a day or half day somewhere in the middle .. and also try to arrive earlier at Williamsburg to unwind and recover..?

As a teacher I would love an early release on Tuesday and a late start on Wednesday!  But please no days off!  I need the summer to start on time!

I have an annual golf tournament hosted by yours truly and this year we are hitting Vegas for our sixth year. 

Anyone out there know of some decent golf courses that are not crippling on the pocket but good to the eye?

On another not as this isn’t until Oct, does anyone know if courses close for reseeding? 

Any help would be appreciated.

Prepping the Hot sausage, with sauce, pepper and onions, Nacho's, and my special dip which is very easy to create and you use Frito corn chip scoops for the dipper.

Hoping that the Chiefs win, cause I don't want the 49ers to get another ring inching closer to the Steelers Ring total.

The Dip --- The meatier the better

1 1/2 to 2lb ground beef, cooked , salt and pepper to taste  

1- Can of Bold MANWICH Sloppy Joe sauce

1 Jar of Tostitos Queso Cheese dip

After cooking the beef add the Manwich, simmer for a few minutes and then add the entire Jar of Queso.

Enjoy!!

Even though I'll be working during the Super Bowl, helping, keeping everyone connected at the game I'll be tailgating !!!

In my skimming of rule 151, I must have hopped right over 7b!

Recipe:

2 - 1lb Pork Sausage Rolls (hot or mild)

3 - 10 oz cans of tomatoes with green chilies (hot or mild) - do NOT drain liquid

2 - 8 oz packages of cream cheese

Brown sausage. Add the rest of the ingredients on medium heat and stir until the cream cheese melts. Serve hot with tortilla chips.

You can adjust spiciness by going with mild or hot ingredients depending on your preference!

Also goes great with eggs in an omelet!

Good afternoon spies nothing special here today just a lazy Sunday. House cleaned sitting on the couch waiting for 3:00 for WMPO coverage to start. Looking forward to the game tonight as we are a house divided! My wife and 11 y/o are pulling for the Chiefs as Travis is a Northeast Ohio native, but me and the 14 y/o are pulling for the 49ers with Bosa and Young on the ends (love our Buckeyes), George Kittle is just awesome love that dudes attitude and how he’s always just having fun, and Brock Purdy aka Mr. Irrelevant. How can you not like that story last pick in the draft to starting in the Super Bowl. Have a great Sunday all!

Great rounds by both of them today, fun to watch them both making some great shots. Taylor had ice in his veins for those last few holes, played outstanding.

Same here. He was pretty solid all weekend but watching him play today was great. His eagle on 13 really lit a spark and he was fun to watch.

Thinking about getting there a little early to spend some time getting used to the grass, if that’s possible.  The problem is we have other places to go and it looks like it’s a 2-3 week trip.  How would you like to mow my lawn?

Good morning and yes we shall see San Fran again at the NFC Championship when my Lions don't choke and hand them the beating they should have given them!! We beat KC first game of the year and should have beat the nines but anyway GOOD MORNING ALL got up at 3:45 and hit a few balls in the Sim and shot a couple magazines of 9mm having some coffee and back to the airport this afternoon to sunny Florida!! Good morning spies! Here we are with yet another back to the grind Monday. I get to start an hour early today which should get me out of work by 1:30 but that doesn’t always happen. Fingers are crossed that it happens today.

Starting the day out at 26° on our way to 47° so the afternoon won’t be too bad. Almost ready to roll the windows down for the drive home.
