Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Good Tuesday morning my spies; from the JV or maybe even freshman part of the country for cold weather. While not nearly as cold as the majority of our northern forum clan, we are cold for us. We will be hard pressed to get above freezing today. Will be interesting to see how our heat resistant vegetation handles a freeze. With the exception of this Thursday, temperatures are suppose to be lower than normal for 10 days to 2 weeks. With that in mind, the Ancient Agers have seized the later morning tee times starting on Thursday. I was startled when I saw this. My reaction was, YIKES!!, my so-called golf game is being reviewed and analyzed… Then to see this, I figured that the review of my golf game was so horrific that it was not suitable for release to the general public to see… Maybe, just maybe, I need to practice more and accept that the degradation of my golf game is on me and not on the bag, especially the new kids in the bag…. Nah, it’s the bag and those uppity new clubs fault Y’all stay warm and take care… EasyPutter, cksurfdude, Preeway and 10 others 11

Popular Post GolfSpy BOS
Good morning all, Snowy day today, kids have school, but it's an early release so won't be quiet in the home office for long. Also HVAC people are here to put in the mini-splits for the basement which is great because then I can finish up the dry-wall! Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone! By the time I read through all the morning replies and respond, there is another page or two of new posts. Hard to keep up!! The amount of daylight is getting longer, but it's still colder than it was in December on the winter solstice. It was 7º when I got up at 5am and it might get to 20º. Snow coming at 7pm tonight through Thursday, but warmer weather is coming by the weekend. Snow and ice are pretty but dangerous. Popular Post jbern
Good morning! I was able to get a little caught up on the FlightScope Progression MEVO thread and that thread is a very interesting read! I'm finally back to a normal day of work today after the storm issues over the weekend and the holiday yesterday. Yesterday it was full-on daddy day care (SWMBO had to work) and we had a blast. We played pretend school, set up a putt putt course around the house, had a little tikes basketball game where it was us vs. "scary guys" (Spoiler Alert!!! we won)! haha It was a lot of fun, but I was more tired last night than I was working 15+ hours on Saturday and Sunday! Popular Post taylorjonasher
Good morning! Woke up this morning at 4:10 to 53* temperature inside the house. Our furnace intake and exhaust lines sit about a foot off the ground, and with the blowing snow and where they sit on the exterior of the house are constantly getting drifted over and blocked, throwing the differential pressure switch. Had to trudge outside to dig it out and then ream the inside of the pipes clean to increase the airflow - only the 5th time this week I've had to do it. It's a battle I've fought for the last 10 years that I've lived in the house and I'm over it. I'd like to find the original installer and deliver a kick to his nuts that would make Pele weep in veneration. Other than that, workout is complete (back and bi's today!), two meetings down, and working on the 3rd cup of the jet black stuff. Wishing everyone a warm and productive day, sans HVAC maladies! ILMgolfnut
20 minutes ago, Byrnzee said: What course did you end up going with (if you don't mind me asking)? No problem! It was Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club, which has been the site of golf since 1793 (yes I got the order of the digits right, not 1973). Several reasons went into my decision: 1. I played the course in November and enjoyed it very much, even in atrocious weather. And the scenery is awesome (it's on a peninsula sticking out into the Moray Firth, thus water on three sides, and there are reportedly often dolphins cavorting in the water, although I didn't see any that day). Aerial shot below. 2. Of the courses I considered, it had the least expensive membership. Wasn't a huge difference in any of them ($65 per year from F&R to the most expensive) but every little bit helps. 3. The club secretary at F&R is extremely helpful and gets back to me very quickly. Not that other clubs were unhelpful, but he goes above and beyond. 4. The reciprocal privileges list at F&R is awesome, and stretches all the way to Australia! Seriously. If I ever go down under, I have a place to play in the Melbourne suburbs. More importantly, it includes seven very good to great courses in the Highlands (including Royal Dornoch) and two other excellent courses in the St. Andrews area should I choose to do another combination trip. Popular Post BigMacQue
Arrggghhhhh...... Good morning. Rainy day and likely no chance to hit the course today. Luckily I got in a range and putting green session yesterday but I can feel the withdrawal symptoms creeping in. On another note: has anyone found a solution for the rubbing issue found on graphite shafts when using tubes in your golf bag? We're not finding a lot of economical 14 way bags to use for the kids on the golf team, so those tubes become a consideration. But they do rub on the graphite shafts and at least five of the kids use clubs that will suffer from that. Any ideas? I've considered finding a little old lady that crochets' all day and giving her a set of plans.
