Good morning MGS Troops! Happy Monday from Mesquite NV! Yesterday was Falcon Ridge GC and it was fun. This morning I believe we play Casa Blanca GC. Hopefully I’ll get the game on track.

Morning fellas!

Had a 10:18 tee time this morning that I've missed. Wife took a fall last night so I'm sitting with her in urgent care rather than a golf cart on the fairway.

But I'm actually good with that. It's 39 degrees with 15mph winds. We're fresh off a week of rain and to top it all off... Cart path only.

I think I'll play a round on sim in the garage when I get back home. I'll turn the heater on first too, lol.

Y'all have a great week now.
B

Sorry to hear about your wife's mishap. Hope everything checks out ok and she recovers from this quickly.

Will I ever get to go through that gate? I seriously doubt it.

There's a sign stuck in the ground across the street from my perch in downtown Augusta: "Tournament Badges -- Local Secure Purchase" with a phone number. Doesn't say which tournament, but you get three guesses and the first two don't count. A local told me this morning that the scalping market for Masters badges is intense; I suspect that sign is part of that market.

It has to be legit…along with the power washing, contract work, we buy houses any condition, etc!  I’m sure you also have a relative overseas that needs to send you some money!

Even if it is legit, you're gonna pay many times face value.

Yes, Monte posted this in Instagram a couple of years ago when Scottie won The Masters.  He says that most all elite players do this, just not to this extreme.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CrWMwJ2psSf/

Monte had previously produced a video in 2021 called BroomForce: Maximizing Swing Speed and this motion was discussed in one of his drills.

I agree with you and @cnosil that the forces (or principles) behind Scotties move are being taught because they are similar with any good swing. Those same forces that keep the hip from bumping out can be made with stable feet. Scottie just does it differently, so it's easy to laugh at.

It’s also the same motion used by hockey players to put power into a slap shot.

That's awesome and now that you mention it, I can see the correlation. My neighbor was an alternate for the 2010 U.S. Women's Olympic hockey team. I'll have to get her thoughts on Scottie's swing. She also picked up golf last spring.

@David Leighton Reid, is that a copperhead? I can't tell too good in that photo, but I'm glad you didn't have a run in with it. I don't care what kind of snake it was, it would have startled me pretty good. I have a friend that likes to catch them...I think he's nuts. He wouldn't be doing much chasing right now as he broke a toe last night.

The wife and I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on a new fridge. The control panel still isn't working on our current one. We spent quite a bit of time at Lowe's looking at them because she needed the proper "cheese drawer", which is the long one on the bottom of the fridge. We went with a 30.5 cu ft Samsung and got it at a decent price due to a sale. They're delivering it Wednesday and hauling the old one away.

1000007698-01.jpeg.0cdcb4fefeb6ee21c1aad4fb708f211a.jpeg1000007699-01.jpeg.4990a41f3acf3383f20a669e626daa8c.jpeg

Not gonna lie, I'm a bit emotional about the getting rid of the old one as it was a house warming gift from my mom. She was so proud to be able to buy it for us and I still think about her every time I open it up.

@GolfSpy_KFTI hope you enjoy your vacation, it looks like a good retreat from the cold climate in Wisconsin. Have fun with the family and I have one pro tip for you: sunscreen.

Looks exactly like ours that came with the house we bought 4 years ago except ours is almond color and the water dispenser is on the inside. The water filter is in the exact same place. Filters are expensive from Lowe’s; they are available on Amazon for half the price. Only use the Samsung filter. Mine is the HAF-CIN/EXP filter.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
