Popular Post William P
Good morning All! Day starting off a bit chilly around here but should warm up nicely. Just a relaxing morning and enjoying the coffee before I begin with a few swings in the net. Today is yardwork day but might have to wait until tomorrow to allow the ground to dry out a bit. Spousal unit has not yet informed of the day's agenda, however, the minute I grab a club to head out back I'm sure I'll get a complete rundown... @Erin B Glad to hear the Mrs has such an awesome support team but certainly can relate to the worry and stress created by waiting for answers. Keeping positive thoughts for her. Hope all is well @Dead Solid Bogey as you recoup from a very hectic and tiring week with the medicos. Enjoy Myrtle @Silver Fawkes! It is a great place to vacation. My annual trip out there is first week in May, and I am ready now. If you fancy a medium length course that places an emphasis on strategy and accuracy, you may want to give Indigo Creek a look. Nice course down in Murrell's Inlet. Everyone enjoy a safe day and keep them in the fairways and on the greens... berkeleybob, Swood1994, ZJeb67 and 13 others 16 Quote TSR1, 9*, Fujikura Ventus Black, 6-S TSR1, 15*, HZRDUS Black, 5.5 TSR2, Hybrid, 18*, TPT HYBRID 17/Lo RBZ Tour4 Hybrid, 21.5*, S T-200, (2023), 5-PW, SteelFiber, i95cw, S Vokey Design, 50,54,58, Dynamic Gold S200 Studio Select, Newport 1.5 ELIXR (2022)

William P
52 minutes ago, EnderinAZ said: Good morning spies! Ooooo did I have a round going yesterday. 1 over after 10 holes, short 20 foot chip for my third shot on a long par 5 setting up my putter that was absolutely perfect so far... And my wife calls me. She never calls when I am golfing or fishing unless it is something seriously wrong. I am walking and my golf cart is all the way across the golf course from where I am at the moment. She has had a sudden and unforeseen bout of vertigo. It put her to her knees and then to the floor and that's where I found her. On the floor clutching a garbage can. Every time she moved her stomach roiled violently. I cannot get her to the car. She went liquid when I tried to sit her up. 6 hours later we are home after a full moon Friday night at the emergency room. She has been given a pill to get rid of the vertigo and it seems to work. This morning she is still a little wobbly, but ambulatory without aid. So today is more targeted video with the 9000. Looking to show how center of gravity balanced finishes on a relatively flat 15 foot putt. This time inside an enclosure made of tees that has been measured, and that measurement is part of the video. I have done this a couple of times, but without the reference, the measured tees, the video looks fake. Hope your wife fully recovers quickly. Vertigo is no fun! Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good afternoon Spies! Two straight weeks on the road had kicked my gluteus and I slept in this morning. For those who haven't seen my combo thread with @IndyBonzo on our home sim setups, I returned from my road trip last night to find that GF, with a little assistance from a friend, got mine set up. The net's leaning a little bit to starboard, but I think I can anchor it to the wall to fix that. GF tripped out that the cheap little TV I ordered had such a good picture, and ordered one for herself ($179 at Walmart). Rypstick also arrived yesterday. I've unpacked it but haven't taken any swings yet. Also received two pairs of golf shorts and two golf architecture books (ordered used from Amazon). Still pending: Another golf architecture book, a new pair of shoes which could double as golf shoes in a pinch or on a rainy day (they're waterproof), and a medicine ball to be used for my Fit For Golf workouts. Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning/afternoon MGSpies (it was morning when I started reading what I missed since Thursday) from a returned to Winter WNY like members from Michigan and Ontario, and to east of here, we have about 5 inches that is not yet ready to melt with temps still below freezing on this late March weekend and first weekend of Spring! (Hear that Spring, it is your turn!!!) Trying to get traction again on feeling life is going forward - lots of good things happening and changes are in progress for both kids, and like when all things don't go according to expectations, there are those who do not do well with the change and there are those who have to live with them. Just going to leave that vague. Best intentions for everyone also dealing with life's obstacles, for those who've moved on from this world and loved ones with medical and emotional challenges. I won't mention people by name to help with the healing process and for the possibility of missing someone as all are equally appreciated in my mind. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Afternoon everyone!! My wife and I had an early tee time this morning… got to the course… carted up… hit the range for a few practice strokes… putted a little… went pee… headed to the cart and the heavens opened up!! Rain blowing sideways!! So we decided to wait 30 minutes; I hate playing in rain and wind, but it doesn’t last long here so wait it out!! People were headed off the course; some went home. As the rain let up a little, we headed to the 1st tee; we both had par avoiding the casual water on the green… my ball between water and pin. On #2 green my wife had a nice shot from the fairway… ended up in the casual water on that green. Where are the grounds crew with their squeegees?? I shot 42 on the front… 5 bogeys. The course dried out by #9… here’s looking back down the #9 fairway from the green… sun was out. Played a little better on the back nine with a 38; birdie on #14 and sandy par on #15, but it also included a double on #18. Not a good way to end. Still a little pain in my back and it was really tight; maybe from loosening up then sitting before tee off. Another early round tomorrow. Hope you had a nice Saturday and could play. Sorry about the snow in the northeast. Popular Post berkeleybob
Morning all. (TL;DR—my wife and I had a good time.) My wife wanted to get away this weekend to relax. That was my cue to go find a place within a couple hours’ drive. I reported back to list out our choices and see which— “Could you please just pick one?” She asked. ”… sure.” I said. So I did. A few days later, she asked, “Did you pick one?” ”Yes,” I said. “I did.” ”Which one?” “I thought you wanted it to be a surprise.” ”No. I hate surprises.” So I told her I picked a spa hotel in the city. ”You couldn’t find one with a golf course?” I fell in love with her all over again. ”In fact, no. They sold out this weekend.” So off we went. Lately, things I do or buy end up sounding like an MGS forum review in my head. Spa hotel in Copenhagen Morning 9/10 We stayed in a cozy room with a balcony. A heated pool sat in the courtyard … … where we waded and sat under a skylight shielding us from the chilly weather. The breakfast was healthy and delicious. Midday 6/10 I reserved massage time for both of us. Apart from the usual stress, my muscles needed help after weeks of golfing at the sim range. The massage therapist and I—let’s just say we didn’t connect that well. As I lay face down in the first minutes, it was clear she did not appreciate small talk. (fun fact: Americans excel at small talk; some cultures do not.) She told me that I was paying for the time, so I should use it wisely. She did a good job working on knots in my back and releasing tension in my forearm, but … ”You have frozen shoulder,” she said unexpectedly. ”What?” I asked. “You need to see a physical therapist right away.” Okay, my wife and brother have had a frozen shoulder. I don’t have one, but I let it slide. ”Your arms and back are a mess.” Yes, I know, I thought. That’s why I’m getting a massage. Instead, I said, “I’ve been playing golf, so I’ve been pushing myself a little.” ”Do you stretch before and after?” ”Yes, I do.” A pause, and then. “You need to stop playing golf.” “Okay.” Face down, she couldn’t see me rolling my eyes. — Overall, it’s been a relaxing getaway/10. This weekend we had a delicious Italian meal and a favorite restaurant nearby and strolled around our favorite streets and allies. We’ve never done this sort of thing before, but if we ever do it again, we’re going to the place with a golf course. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, Did the pga Hope program yesterday after it got done raining. Went over bunker shots and then headed out on the course for a little game of 100 yard tee shots, basically par 3 contest. I was captain of one team and we only had 3 on the team. The other had 4. Wound up tying so the instructor made us do a chip off. Two per team and closest to the pin. Their first guy went and got it within 4 feet. I chipped and we were the same distance. Their next guy flubbed his chip so still tied. My teammate chipped it up to about 10 inches and we won. Awesome time and look forward to next Saturday. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! It's looking like it's going to be a nice Sunday here after the rain and high winds yesterday. I was looking out my kitchen window this morning and saw the neighbors trash cans in his yard. At least they were empty. @berkeleybobit's sounds like you had a good, relaxing day with your wife at the spa. I wouldn't take the massage therapists advice, I think she was a bit salty about the small talk and was getting back at you. Quit golf... Scoffs. It's grocery day and I need to go pick up a battery for my lawn mower. I've also got to replace the innards of a toilet today, the water isn't going through the tube to fill it back up and it's slowly trickling down from the top of the valve. We do enough research to know what to expect for our trade-in and what to expect for pricing on the new one. If we are not within that window from the get go we thank them for their time and head for the door. I’ve only made it out of the dealership without the new car once in the last 15 or so years doing that. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on this Palm Sunday morning for those who are of Christian faith. @berkeleybob thanks for the pictures and recap, looks like you at least had a very nice place to stay besides the issues with the massage person. @Swood1994 with the changing automotive marketplace, large inventories, and high prices still on some vehicles due to dealer "stubbornness" to adjust them to sell, I feel your pain being in the market at this time. Patience may be your best bet during these times. I did manage to get some range time in yesterday, and today here will be sunny but still mid 30's so some melting of our snow will occur. Today for me will be to finish up some things around the house that need to be done, and dinner with my son and his family later today. Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans. berkeleybob, cksurfdude, EasyPutter and 11 others 14 Quote Driver & Fairway: Titleist TSR3 10 degree - Ventus TR Blue & TSR3 15 - Project X Hzrdus Smoke Black Hybrid: Callaway Apex UW 19 - Hzrdus Smoke Black Irons: Titleist T200 3G (4) & T150 - (5-G) - Project X LZ Wedges: Vokey SM8 54, and 58 Putter: Cameron Phantom X 7 Ball: Pro V1 & Maxfli Tour

It is the thought that counts. Got to the course and the moose out front told me they were closed for the day so I went to the range and hit some balls. Heck, was already up and dressed for the weather anyway. Now for my old man grumbling. They have a website, email system and social media….couldn’t just one person post they were closed for the day??? I get we had rain and it is cold but I have played the course after much worse weather. I think I have played there in much worse weather. Like you say not hard to post that the course is closed. That is one thing that my club is very good at.
