Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on a cold, dreary, raining Michigan morning. At work and hoping that I may get enough done to have a no commute day tomorrow. Need to see what transpires as the day moves forward, but that would be the best end result for me. Popular Post ejgaudette
Good morning all! Taking today off actually for an impromptu day with the wife. I am not sure what exactly we will do but I am sure it will be better than working. Kids are all off to school soon here. Got most of our Christmas decorations up the past few days maybe just a couple last things to add to round it out. I have enjoyed getting things ready, I used to be staunch that it should be after Thanksgiving but my wife has moved me her way so a little before Thanksgiving is fine by me now. Popular Post CSiders12
Good morning! Last day of with this week which in pretty excited about. I'm also excited about a new golf facility opening up down the road. It's called Pinseekers and is very similar to TopGolf. It just opened yesterday, so I'm excited to go hit and see how it is. With golf courses being closed for 5 or so months out of the year where I live, I'm excited to have a place where I can continue to work on my game. I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday! Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone! Sunday's round was a bust... too windy. I shouldn't have tried it, but my wife wanted to play. I quit after 9-holes and tweaked my knee doing it. We don't normally play on Monday, but my wife made a tee time and in was a cold, sunny morning but no wind, so I played. We had a frost delay that pushed our tee time to 11:30am. My knee really bothered me, and I spent the round wishing I had scheduled my replacement for this month; now I have to wait until next November. Shot a miserable 45 on the front nine putting two Yellow Balls in the water. It was like they actually wanted to go swimming!! Who knew!?! The back nine was better; shot 36 with 2 bogies and one birdie. It was hard to put a tee in the ground, mark my ball, and get my ball out of the cup; can't put a lot of weight on my right knee. Hope you day is better than mine today. I'm spending it basically not doing anything and keeping ice packs on the knee... with a hot rice bag on the other knee to keep me warm. Our course has a shotgun start on Thanksgiving and we are playing. Popular Post cksurfdude
Good Morning golf buddies!! Wow .. there are almost 10 pages of Good Morning posts for me to catch up on! Will be getting back to that soon, but wanted to start out saying Hi to everyone and Thank You to all who said something about my poochie. My mornings are a little different now vs a few years ago when I'd see this getting before going downstairs ... But life goes on and my wife and I will adapt. In golf "adjacent" news I've finally started visiting a new acupuncturist and a new chiropractor for the old back; as well as getting back on track with more regular stretching / yoga and daily exercise. Have not been hitting golf balls .. giving the back some time off plus letting the wrists recover after I started feeling some repetitive stress type pains .. but have swung an orange whip a little and done some putting on the mat in the basement. Popular Post RonnieB
Good morning! I had to come back to work to keep the heat and lights on. Take me back to 64* on Sunday with the sun out at Bent Creek Golf course in Gatlingburg, TN. The grass was already dormant and the area was in a drought so the ball was traveling farther than I am used to, but it is a beautiful course and a fun layout. Saturday it was over 70* and I played The Gatlinburg course. It was well maintained and very nice. The drought made the fairways very hard and a few 250-260 yard drives went much farther. All in all, a great weekend of golf! Pictures attached are from Bent Creek. Popular Post Samuel09152
Good morning Spies! Hopefully your week has started off well and you still have a lot to be thankful for. Day two of what to be thankful for is golf, the community and this forum. I appreciate all the help I have received and the lack of judgement on some questions I have asked! Sounds silly but this forum has become something I come to look forward to writing and reading on the past couple weeks. Y’all are pretty cool people! Also let’s hear it for the one sport that you can hate but love, see the beauty but the ugliness, the complexity but simplicity from one second to another. It is by far the most challenging and mental exhausting but rewarding sport I’ve ever played. Anyways have a great day! And as always, BE THE BLESSING! Separately... @sirchunksalot that calcification thing does *not* sound good... Plz check with the surgeon what it means for you, and be careful with that Achilles tendon! I'd broken my leg skiing when I was a kid and then years later _shredded_ the Achilles on that leg .. partly due to that old injury... @cnosil cannot believe your medical search continues..! Fingers Crossed for you that your next Dr visit can actually yield you some concrete info / diagnosis / treatment... @Kenny B sorry hear about the knee... Gotta find the right pain relief for it to keep you going! And try a neoprene wrap when you go out on the course in low temps... ... Have a good evening! I understand you taking some time away after the loss of your pup, they're family and it's hard. The doctor wasn't too concerned about the calcification, but did mention it could be uncomfortable to deal with. I'll make sure to ask him about it at my follow up.
