Welcome to the forum! It’s a great community and a really fun place to interact and get involved. Another thread I recommend is the Good Morning thread, as well as community call participation!

I don't normally wear a glove, but IF I wear a glove, it stays on.  I have tried many times to take it off when I get to the green, but I always forget.  When I do remember to take it off, I end up playing the next several holes without it.  Too much trouble.

I've gone back and forth repeatedly on this and settled on glove off. The main reason is it helps me be on routine in reading the putt. I might grab the velcro while someone else is hitting, but I don't take the glove off until I'm paying attention to lining the putt.

There's a much smaller factor having to do with feel but it is of less importance to me than the routine aspect of doing it the same every time.

Off after most shots, off when putting.

I take mine off after each shot as well. I find on hot days this helps the glove not get too moist. Plus my pre-shot routine is get my distance, see the shot shape I want, pull my club, put on my glove (key that I’m ready to go), setup and pull the trigger. Off comes the glove and I can move on. I use the putting on my glove part as the trigger to focus. Then when it is off my mind can wonder.

Glove off when putting and I am probably 50/50 with glove off on chips.

Keep hearing how it is part of the pre shot routine with most everyone who takes it off for putting. Definitely helps me with that as well, just getting into the right mental frame when walking on to putt. I like how you use it as the key or trigger to lock in when putting it on after taking it off between shots!

Yeah, sweaty paws issue here too.  I don't really like having to use multiple gloves during a round and it's been years since I'd adopted the glove off after shots, since I had to.  I also use some version of hand antiperspirant also (I have 3 different ones), so that helps.

I always ride and what I typically do is start putting the glove back on as I roll up to my ball.  So I'm usually getting my number with it on already.  If I'm last to go though, I'll delay putting the glove on until necessary.

I wear several gloves when I play as my hand gets sweaty and the back of the glove gets wet. I also take them off when I putt. Just a habit I always have.

I actually learned that trick watching my Dad when I caddied for him as a kid. He was a very good golfer and athlete. He also told me you can’t stay locked on for 18 holes unless you take breaks. I learned his secret was putting on the glove. Once on no talking just dial in and go. Then glove off and he was back talking. I have used that ever since.

Yes I do.  I put it on as I'm walking from the parking lot, and take it off when I'm walking to the car after the round 😉.  My kids make fun of my pale left hand haha.  For me, it is just one more thing to have to think about, taking off the glove, putting on the glove, back and forth... and I don't even notice it is on.

I will say that I'm in minority of the group I play with, and get comments about it.  Usually after I pull a putt dead left "you should have taken off your glove" ... my group loves to needle. haha.

What a surprise my brother from another mother. I keep my glove on the entire round. Only time it comes off is for a hot dog at the turn or a tree visit.

If it is warm enough I don't need a rain glove, or winter glove on my right hand, then I take my golf glove off when I putt.  Like the OP, I think its mostly because I saw the pros taking theirs off many years ago.  If its cold enough I have to have a glove on my right hand then I leave both on and putt like Tommy "two gloves" Gainey.

I'm a glove-off guy.

I use taking it off as a start to my putting routine and it helps me settle things to be ready to putt.

Same with putting it back on - I'm getting my mind set right for the next tee shot

Interesting question….

Like many I am glove off for putting.  I find the extra time is worth it unless it’s a tap in which is very rare. 🤣  The glove off feel is important to me for putting and having the same consistent variables at address as well.

I keep my glove on for chipping which let’s me grip it easily without any tension.

My glove comes off once I'm doing anything less than a full swing wedge. No absolute scientific reason, but it's likely now ingrained as a mental cue that I'm going for more of a "touch" shot. My basic idea is that a glove is there to enhance the ability to hold on to the club with lighter grip pressure, and so as that becomes less an need with partial shots, I don't wear my glove.

I typically do not take it off between shots, but after reading a few comments about how that’s part of their routine and focus, I think I’m going to give it a try this year. Maybe it’ll help me slow down my mind a little bit

I do not wear one for putting, never have. I know all the pros used to, and it's weird watching those Masters replays from the 80s where none of the pros ever take their glove off, I also don't wear a glove for punch shots and approach shots for wedges. It's kind of a reminder to not swing so hard on those shots. I also take it off after every shot, I use it as a trigger in the pre-shot routine to refocus my mind on the shot.

Oh, and I've also been known to tape my fingers from time to time. So wrap your heads around all that 🤪
