I heat treated the shaft just messing around with colour shifts, and it came out with an oil spill type of rainbow effect, but for the life of me I can't seem to get a half decent picture of it, it just doesn't show on camera as well as it looks in person. 

It's going up for sale later on. 

Turned out really nice!

Am curious about the wedge story though…

I got the 60º done, I still have to work on the 56º as it was by far in the worst condition. 

I tried to go a little lighter with the colour on the 60º, and have more Bronze and less Blue. 

Once I have all 3 heads done I need to cut the shafts down as they are all 1 length, and meant for a big boy, someone at least 6'4".

I don't know if I want to trim them at the tip or handle. It would be easier trimming the tip since the heads are already off, and I wouldn't have to try and remove or potentially ruin a brand new Lambkin grip, but I don't know if trimming at the tip will change the characteristics of the shafts, like kick points, etc..

So I decided to go a different route with this build. As an over the hosel shaft is required, I was not happy with the look of a chrome shaft. I decided to go with a maltby black chrome stepless shaft, and a Winn 2020 van midsized pistol grip. (Both from golfworks)

I just finished cutting the shaft, making the putter an overall length at 33.5" from floor to grip end

I used a jb weld steel epoxy to join the head and shaft. I will wait 24 hours to cure, then install the grip. I have not decided if I will add a butt end counter weight yet.

I need to replace the ferrules on my zx7s. They are starting to separate a bit.

I've had some luck heating the ferrules a bit and using my shaft puller as a pusher and snugging them back up. But, of course I will always advocate for new ferrules and new builds lol

I'm doing the remote foreward fitting starting Friday and depending on what they say, I may change the zx7s ferrules.

I’ve had some success using my shaft puller to reset ferrules but it’s also deformed a fair number.

A pipe flaring die block has worked better for me. Dip the clubhead/ferrule in hot water for maybe a minute, clamp the die block around the shaft with the flaring bevel oriented toward the clubhead, stand the club up on a solid surface (workbench) and then gently tap the block with a mallet until the ferrule is flush w/ the hosel. If the ferrule isn’t moving, dunk it in the hot water again. In my experience, the beveled edge on the die block is less likely to marr the top edge of your heat softened ferrule where it’s thinnest and most fragile.

I enjoy club building as much as anybody, but playing graphite top-to-bottom of the bag, I’d prefer to avoid pulling gamer shafts unless absolutely necessary. A deformed ferrule is an automatic rebuild for me. If that leads to a bad shaft pull, expensive dominos start falling.

I play a combo set of Srixon.  4-6 mkII zx5's and 7-pw in mkII zx7s and love them!  the 5s are super forgiving and come off the face like a rocket.

are the irons consistent in distance?  I dont mind the ball coming off the face like a rocket but i dont want one hit way longer then another  hit 10 yards shorter.

I get very consistent numbers with the srixons.

Finished my 1st club build last night. A putter actually.  I was gifted the head from lombardigolf, bought 2 shafts. A maltby chrome shaft and a golfworks black chrome shaft. Winn 2020 vsn pistol 2.0 grip. I trimmed the putter shaft for a total length of 33".  This is the Tour 34 mallet head. Milled face. It feels good in my hands.  Putted with it for the first time today and it's comfortable in my hands.  Will need to work with it some more, but it gave a good first impression.  I did not add a shaft counter weight at the top. I used 3 wraps at the bottom of the grip, and air to install it. I trimmed one of the reflective decals he sent to put on the shaft.

It's not replacing the AI One DB! This is a new hobby I solely blame on all of you!!!
