We haven't made the matchups yet, but your Team Captain may have some pre-Tournament assignments for you to get prepared for the Matches.  More information should be coming out later this week on the rules and format, and next week, team captains will be submitting the team pairings for the start of Match Play!!

Off topic, but how do we get the "Not Lefty" badge? I need to make sure people know I'm not a lefty... Ugh, just thinking about left handed people makes me queasy.

I made that "Not Lefty" badge to give @GolfSpy_APH a hard time (not even sure he noticed it). haha.  You are the second person to comment... it has been on my profile for some time.  If you really want it... I'm happy to give it to you

Tester badges are assigned once the test is completed (and the staff have a chance to update them... I'm behind on my tests.... but will get to them).  But other badges you can reach out to me via DM

Looks good, but a blue pin flag might be a better contrast to the red background.

I'd adjust slightly and add a  🕳 under the ️ since you placed the pin so close to the "A" in Aces.

Ha, I will be honest, with the red background I didn't see the flag until I read the rest of your post mentioning it! Maybe go without?

Not sure if it's too late to get in on this, but would love to join.  Could probably convince @Eddy Dragonetti to post his scores too to flush out a team, just need a third or a captain!  We play every weekend together, I'll be able to squeeze in a few extra rounds here and there.

I'm so sorry Mr. M... we capped this year's field at 64.  Logistically... we needed to limit the field.  There may be opportunities for alternate players over the course of the 3-5 weeks... so stay tuned.  Team Captains may be posting requests for someone to fill in for one of their team not able to play a round in a given week.

2023 MYGOLFSPY FORUM MEMBER

VIRTUAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR

MATCH PLAY TOURNAMENT

 

The Field of 64 is Set

The Captains are Strategizing

The Teams are Preparing

The Divisions are Built, and

The Schedule is READY!!!

 

Teams have been placed in one of four divisions: 

In the first three weeks of matches, teams will play each of their division rivals.  

Week One Matchups Below:

The format will be the closest thing we can have to a Match Play - without actually being there in person. 

• First three weeks of match play will be 2-Person Best Ball format. 
• Team Captain will submit their Team A and Team B Pairings each week (prior to the week of play). 
• Full round - Hole by Hole scores will be turned in via the thread by each player.  The best "net to par" score by each team on each hole will be used to determine that hole's winner as part of the match.  
• I indicated earlier in the thread that we would be scoring as 2 points for the win... but in keeping with true Ryder Cup Match Play format... ONE POINT for the winning Match, 1/2 POINT for a tie.  
• As we get to Week 3 and the finals... We will be playing individual matches instead of best ball matches... so be ready.  Only the top teams from each division will move to the playoffs, and highest point totals throughout the event will become the Match Play Champion. 

Those are the brief overview of rules - more to come and please ask any questions you may have.

I wanted to start the Team Captains thinking about your pairings... send those through the thread or DM - which ever you prefer.  Match Play begins on September 1st.
