Tom the Golf Nut
I have a two pair of Puma Ignites. One with and one without the BOA system. Both are spiked and are over two years old and performing well. I would get another pair with the BOA system when the time comes. I also have two pair of Adidas. Code Chaos and Boost both are spikeless. So it will be awhile before I need another pair of shoes. Big fan of the Puma shoes for fit and durability. Yes I would, my Adidas 360 Boost, are about 4 years old now and they still are my go to shoes, I wear them most rounds, I have not have any issues with the BOAs at all. And that is becaue I leave the shoes in a sealed box inside the trunk of my car even after playing on a wet course, I eventually get it out, wash and let it dry a couple days before my next round. I do need to replace the spikes this off season, as this ones are getting very wormed out. xOldBenKenobiX, MattF, Todd K. and 1 other 4 Quote My Reviews: 2023 Official review - Rapsodo MLM2Pro! 2022 Official Review - Edel SMS Wedges 2021 Official Review - Tommy Armour Impact 3 Putter 2020 Official Member Review - BagBoy Chiller Cart Bag Cobra SpeedZone Xtreme - Unofficial Review by xOldBenKenobiX Honma TR21 4 Wood - Unofficial Review by xOldBenKenobiX Driver - Cobra SpeedZone Xtreme 10.5, UST helium 5 Wood - . Shrek74
Those with the BOA system, do you find there are any areas where the lines are tighter on your foot that others? The old laceless shoes from way back in the day (like, 1990's) had all sorts of tighter spots and looser spots on my foot which is why I'm very leery of the new versions out. So I'm curious to know if this is still an issue or not. xOldBenKenobiX, AndySP, cksurfdude and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: STMax 230 10.5*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Fairways: 949x 3w / 5w, 15* / 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Hybrids: 939x 4h, 21*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 80g Hybrid Irons: JPX923 Hot Metal Pro, 5-GW, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Wedges: S23, 54* & 60*, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Putter: Moment X Tour @ 35" & 71*, Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, White/Red Ball: Tour CG Technology: Anarch Rangefinder, V5 w/ Tags Shot Tracking. https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/65161-vortex-optics-rangefinders-2024-member-test/?do=findComment&comment=1089247 https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/66852-unofficial-review-tpi-virtual-assessment https://forum.mygolfspy.com/classifieds/ - DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE CLASSIFIEDS!!! GolfSpy_KFT
I am currently wearing the 2023 Hyperflex BOA and LOVE them. I had a pair of the lace up hypers before and to this point much prefer the fit of the BOA style. My foot feels more stable and secure, and I can get my shoe tight enough without and pressure from laces on the top of my foot. Basically feels like my shoes are giving my foot a nice, snug hug lol. I can’t speak on multiple seasons as I have been using them for about a month. But to this point of weekly use I’ve noticed no loosening while playing. I would recommend 10/10. Aj123
I have worked in sporting goods for over 10 years now. Boa is used on alot of different gear now. I generally prefer boa to standard laces now because it’s more precise of a tightening method. That being said I feel like some products work better than others with it. ctg44
I have had 2 pairs of shoes with the Boas, one Adidas and one Puma. Both of the shoes failed when the eyelets through which the Boa cables run tore out. Granted, I have the stupidest feet ever, so it's already hard to get properly fitting shoes of any kind, much less golf shoes. I have smaller than teenage girl heels, wider than normal forefoot, and oh, my left is a 13.75+ and my right is about a 13.25. 13s in pretty much everything are too short and tight in the toe box area, and 14s are like wearing hiking boots that are put on over tennis shoes. Thus, I am stuck wearing the ONE brand of golf shoes that so far can fit me AT ALL...Sqairz in a size 13M. I can't say it's the shoes, but since switching back to them full time in March, my handicap has dropped like a rock and I haven't had a round over 83 in months. G0al3d
I have BOAs in my new ECCOs and I love them, I wasn't a fan of the looks at first but they grew on me. From a comfort and convenience standpoint the just ROCK. I have laces in my ECCO Biom cleats and they get really ratty pretty quick whereas these obviously are super clean. I was leery about them cause I have friends that had them in their snowboard boots and had them break and then they were boned cause they had to send them out to be replaced (vs buying a new lace at the lodge shop and just being right back in business). But obviously golf is nowhere near as punishing on the BOA system as snowboarding. I can't comment on longevity since I have only had them a couple of months, but so far I am loving them and will probably never go back. cksurfdude 1 Quote What's in my Pioneer Bag: Driver: G430 Max 10k 9* ( Speeder NX 50s) 3 & 7 Woods: G430 Max ( Speeder NX 60s/70s) 4 & 5 Hybrids: G430 (KBS Tour Prototype Hybrid 75r) 5 - PW Irons: Pro 243 (Mitsubishi MMT 125s) Wedges: Edison 2.0 49* & 53* RTX Full-Face2 58* BGT REDZNE 130 shafts Putter: DF 3 TPT shaft Press 3 grip Ball: Titleist ProV1x Link to comment
