Testers Wanted! Titleist SM10 and Stix Golf Clubs ×

Both. They don’t have to be mutual exclusive and can be done in conjunction with your pro. If your pro is a fitter that’s even better but your pro could and probably should go to a fitting with you so that the fitter understands what your pro is trying to get you to do and fit to that.

The higher one’s handicap the more important a fitting becomes because higher handicap have a harder time adjusting to ill fitted equipment than lower handicaps.

As a higher handicap player id say a basic fitting (1 you can usually get with a purchase of a club) vs a custom full bag fitting is where you should start.

Then move to the basic lesson to get the swing mechanics, approach, stance, etc pretty close.

I agree with @RickyBobby_PR its hard for a newer or high handicap player to adjust to ill fitted clubs and will only make things more frustrating trying to fix something they really cant.

BUT lessons to learn the basics if your way off is the first thing I would go for as clubs don't matter if you cant hit the ball or stand at it correctly
