What are some brands that are long lost or forgotten? Maybe they still make clubs or maybe they have completely exited the space.

MLA Putters comes to mind for me as a brand we saw a good bit of via MGS but they haven't done much of anything new since and I almost thought they closed their doors but they still are selling putters.

Any others that come to mind for you?

Dunlop golf equipment!

Clubs and bags throughout the 80s- early 2000s that were produced by Dunlop.

Later they were bought out by Sumimoto. (Who also own Cleveland and Srixon, and a bunch of other sports companies)

The clubset I own, (and currently play) are over 25 years old. They are Foremost 551 series (and I believe the last dunlop club sets produced)

Dunlop golf has a long history too.

WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter.

Just an old newbie golfer, trying to learn and improve 1 club at a time.

Dunlop is still around, in a sense. It is part of the group that also owns Cleveland, Srixon and XXIO. Dunlop, as a brand, now focuses on racket sports with its golf side having been incorporated into the other golf brands within the company

NC partnered with Cleveland golf many years ago…right around the time Vijay was racking up wins.

It was timely for them and really helped their sales volume…in the same regard that UnderArmour signed Spieth before his Masters victory.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

Dunlop golf has a long history too.

Came here to mention Dunlop. My first set was a women's Dunlop half set (D-3W-3-5-7-9-Putter) as a short 11 year old and an era where kids clubs were glorified toys. They were a little shorter and lighter than men's clubs and I actually hit them really well.

Some will laugh, but at 14 I saved up from umpiring little league games to buy a full set of...Spalding! These were junk but I had them for 20 years lol.

I also came to offer Teardrop, Orlimar, etc.

Dunlop=Srixon...change my mind. Dunlop, the tire company got bought up by Goodyear and Sumitomo rubber. The golf patents all went to Sumitomo in the sale, and they are the parent manufacturer of Srixon/Cleveland.

I'll add SeeMore putters, PowerBilt, and Alien (lol)

I recall a forum member review in my early days on the forum and that is all I remember about it. I did a search and found it was 2019 when they were looking to make a return to the US.

Not really.  They used a lot of pot metal in making their products.  Chrome plating can only go so far in making that which is hideous look beautiful.

Saw on instagram a while back they have a new owner who is updating their designs. Lotta putter companies seem to be for sale or experiencing serious financial difficulties lately. Piggybacking on the thread about how much will you pay for a putter, obviously not as much as some of these companies are charging!

@Bobbers good call on Carbite.  It triggered me to search through my golf bucket.  Several years ago I found a Carbite blade putter head.  Someone had broken the shaft off. I had found the putter head in the woods while ball hawking.

I kept the putter to see if it could be reshafted at some point.
