Jim, the face was closed on the one picture, primarily as I was trying to get a picture of the putter without my hands or feet spoiling the shot.  I tend to prefer more in terms of alignment aids, so for some this will be far too busy looking.

Chris, short answer is no.  My stroke is what it is and I'm not changing that anytime soon.  In preparation for the arrival of the L.A.B., I watched a number of their training videos where they recommended to "Play the ball slightly more forward as the putter face is ahead of the shaft.  Most putters have face behind the shaft, scoot the ball forward, put the tip of shaft in the middle of your stance or a little forward,  Will encourage low to high stroke to give you most optimal roll."  This is what I was referring to when I mentioned learning curve.  My putting stroke for the most part is straight back and straight through with very minimal arc.  I'm not changing that to accommodate the putter. What I'm interested in is how the L.A.B. will test on Quintic especially as it relates to face angle as well as my other reference putters.  Ultimately, it depends on how it does out on the golf course.  I have my reference Arccos data to compare to.  Will the L.A.B. DF3 work for me?  Until I test it further, I don't know.  Initial impression and strokes were promising, but I need a much larger sample size to get a better sense of what it can and can't do.   More to follow through the testing period.  I'm really looking forward to this.

I can’t wait for a video of @GolfSpy MPR playing in the rain, draining a long putt and yelling “Shazam!!” I’d be on the edge of my seat to see what happens!

My Darkspeed X is making its journey from Carlsbad as well, and has not again been scanned since May 1st. Assuming the same thing @GolfSpy MPR, it’ll be scanned once it hits the Madison distribution warehouse.

Great putter names everybody! As a Lakers fan, I am a bit partial to the Black Mamba of course. Can't wait to see all the photos and videos in the upcoming days/weeks.

Well crew, looks like FedEx overshot just a bit and wasn’t able to deliver Chewie yesterday (on May 4th, would have been perfect timing).  Let’s hope for some good news later today!!!

Still no new sign of mine in the FedEx system. Again, I'd expect to see something early in the week. Unfortunately, I'm leaving today after our morning services to go to Lansing. I'm a chaplain with the Michigan State Police, and Monday and Tuesday is a our semi-annual conference. Given our home in the far western UP, with Lake Michigan in the way, it's about a 8.5 hour drive to the capital from here.

So if it gets delivered while I'm gone, I'll have added incentive to be heavy on the gas pedal for the drive home. Happily, with the State Police ID card in my wallet....

So here it is Sunday morning. The morning after FedEx promised that they would deliver Nemo. 

Narrator, “They in fact did not deliver the orange custom L.A.B. Golf DF3 putter lovingly named, Nemo”

My message to FedEx.

 

My search to find Nemo continues. 

“I promise, I will never let anything happen to you… Nemo.”

Nemo was last seen Huber Heights, OH. Hopefully he isn’t in a dentist’s fish tank.

It wasn’t going anywhere near Troutdale was it? Apparently it’s a bit of a Bermuda triangle area around there for LAB putters

There are direct links to each tester’s main posts at the top of the thread. The banter and discussion during testing is part of what makes them so enjoyable. Sorry you think it is nonsense.

I've had numerous disappointments with a company who may sponsor an end of year PGA championship.
So much so that I factor which delivery company in when I decide to buy or not.

Testers are just receiving the putters - top of the page has links to where their main reviews will be. We do this for all tests. 

The nonsense as you put it has a lot of valuable insights and information fwiw.

Echoing this. 

When I've tested, the posts within the thread often contain day to day observations as you get to know the product.   It's far from nonsense and can be highly valuable for understanding the breaking in period of a product before you actually buy it.   

 

On another note....

I've been reading about the troutdale FedEx location.   Seems to be a very underperforming and short staffed locale.   The good news is that most people seem to receive their products (LAB or otherwise) after it goes into the Troutdale black hole.  

Really excited to read about the DF3 s.   I've gone back to my Link from the DF2.1, but would still like a bit more stability.   DF2.1 and a Bettinardi could end up as part of my garage clean out depends my on what I read.

Good afternoon MGS Nation! Well, the FedEx truck wasn't fooling around last night. My much better half and I had gotten back from pickleball, and there was nothing on the porch. I was like, dang it. So, we started preparing dinner. Mid prep, skillets hot and ready to start searing food, the door bell rang. Hmmmm... and there was the FedEx truck hiding amongst our treeline. I wanted to give the driver a hug! He was all smiles and said, "Hey, I bet by the look of that package that I just made your weekend!" Oh yeah! But, still had to prepare dinner.. so the anticipation remained. First, it just sat on the porch waiting for me... then in the kitchen by all my seedlings, waiting. Do you feel it? I did, but I had to prepare dinner! After dinner, it was time. Sorry that I'm not as comfortable in front of the camera as @Cfhandyman, but the Black Mamba has arrived and from first impressions is everything I was hoping for! 

The alignment markings are PERFECT! I was able to use the "X" aid with a line on the rear bezel.... Thank you to L.A.B. for doing that! 

I don't remember who said it, but apparently there IS voodoo in here! The warning says so!!

Sorry about all the pics, but I am definitely stoked to get this out and start working with it! First impression is this just wreaks of Tech. I had mine built Heavy: my current gamer the Spider has some definite heft at the end of the shaft. I wanted to stay close to that feeling if possible as I do like the feel of some weight at the end of the putter. Even with this, the DF3 is perceptibly lighter than the Spider. The weather this weekend is absolutely horrible, so I'll have to wait until I can get to my practice green to start the data collection ... ugh! Maybe tomorrow....

Thanks @CFreddie! It most certainly was a great way to end it! Now I'm itching to get to a green and start working with him!
