‘24 Wilson Staff Model balls are buy 2 get 1 free right now and are now my go to ball. I sold my stock of left dash balls after finding a regular Staff Model ball and finishing my round with it.  Ball speed monster, low spin off the driver, great spin off wedges, and feels amazing.  I even had great spin today with some t100s as I await my t150’s. Combined with the Cobra Forged Tecs though they were a little low on spin with irons for me.

I recently tested the Maxfli Tour X against the Pro V1 X, and I can't tell the difference.  The Tour X is that good.  And they're selling four dozen packs for $109.  I'll be switching when I've run through all my Titleists.

I didn't test the Tour or Tour S, as the Pro V1 X is the best ball for me according to Ballnamic.

What's in the bag:
Driver - TaylorMade Qi10 - Mitsubishi Diamana 60g (S)
3 Wood  - Callaway OG Big Bertha - RCH 90 (Firm)
5 Wood - Cobra Speed LD (L)
Driving Iron - New Level NLU-01
5i - PW - Wilson Staff D7 Forged - Recoil 760 ( S )
52* - Cleveland CBX
58* - Cleveland CBX Full Face 2

If you are just wanting balls to play/lose, and dont care for performance preferences, I recommend hitting up websites like lostgolfballs or golfballnut etc for recovered balls.

Maxfli Tour, Tour X, or Tour S. All day, every day.
All the performance of the ProV's, but at a fraction of the cost.
48 ball cube for $110 ($27.50/dzn).
Always have wonderful results in Ball Lab, plus great performance at the bi-annual ball test.

Right now on the dicks sporting goods app you get $20 off an order of $100 or more. Those Maxfli tour balls are real cheap at that price!

I have a cobra rad speed driver, cobra fly z 3 and 5 wood, taylormade m1 irons (5-PW), Top Flite Gamer wedges (52,56,60), and odyssey white ice putter. When I’m playing to keep score I typically play the Maxfli Tour X. When just getting a round in with friends or scrambling I play whatever I might find on the course or might find at the bottom of my bag.

Kirkland.  They are no longer what they were when they were first released a few years ago, but if you want to save some $ they are perfect!  $27.99 for a two dozen box.  They even come in vi-vis yellow now, which is a plus for me.

There are so many Kirkland balls in the woods, water, and deep rough at our course that they cannot possibly be worth playing.  They simply are too inaccurate to go in my bag, and I'm nothing special as far as a golfer.  I'd never spend that close to what the Maxfli balls cost to buy such a markedly inferior ball.  Add in the empirical data from the MGS ball lab and I'm even more convinced that the Kirkland balls are a major failure of a product by Costco (1 of their few).  If you combined the $20 off $100 last weekend with the normal 48 for $109 pricing, you could have gotten a set of the Maxfli Tour / Tour X  / Tour S balls for $89 + tax, or just over $2 / ball.  Yes, that's still more than the $1.26 a ball for the Kirklands, but $0.75 a ball isn't bad for the huge performance gains.

Hold on....so because bad golfers want to play a cheap ball because they know they'll lose them...that makes the balls inaccurate?   I honestly thought your post was sarcasm when I first read it.  I find more Pro V1's than any other ball and it isn't even close...that doesn't make it a bad ball, it's just played by bad players with money at my course.

I just know that I find far too many Kirklands compared to any other ball at our club's 2 courses to trust them myself.  The only other balls I see with any frequency like this are the Srixon Softfeel balls they use as a default "free" ball that they give away with goodie bags for Monday tournaments.

I did a big thread on this last year and tested a bunch. I ended up liking the Hammer Control as a super-cheap option and the Q Star (not Tour) as a mid-cheap option. That said, this year I'm playing the Maxfli Tour S as I think it's worth the extra $1/ball compared to those other options.

It depends on what you consider a value golf ball. If you are looking for value urethane golf balls, I recommend any of the Maxfli Tour golf balls. I personally play with the Maxfli Tour S and love it. They usually cost $109.98 + VAT for a 48-pack. I highly recommend them.

If you are looking for something even cheaper that's still a urethane ball and you don't have a high swing speed, I suggest the Kirkland Performance golf balls (Costco's brand). This is perhaps the cheapest urethane golf ball on the market at $35 + VAT for 2 dozen. Although I wouldn't recommend it for a tournament or something serious, it is a cheap alternative that still has a urethane cover.

Adding to the group that supports the Maxfli Tour/Tour X as best budget. They are not as durable as the Srixon ZStar/XV Bridgestone BX or ProV1/x; but they are without a doubt in the same neighborhood in performance.

I also have found that the Srixon, Bridgestone and Titleist balls are maybe slightly longer or better in the wind for me.

All of them perform great around the greens and have similar feel off the putter.

I’d personally stay away from Kirkland unless you are a low-spin player.

Going to echo what a lot of others have said with the Maxfli Tour X. Just recently bought the 48-pack and put them into play this past weekend. Great feel all around the course and didn't lose a single ball in two rounds!

... My playing 36yr old pard who just qualified and played in the Arizona State Amateur Championship has only played ProV1's since high school. I gave him a sleeve of the new Maxfli Tour X when they first came out last winter and he switched to them full time. Like others and even at his +2 level, he can't tell the difference other than the price.

... The Kirkland can be less accurate because they spin much more than other premium balls. If you slice, side spin will be accentuated and therefore they can be less accurate. That said, if you have a slow swing speed and can use the extra spin to keep the ball in the air longer and hit the ball reasonably straight, it is a great value ball. My straight hitting 82 yr old playing pard picked up about 10 yds with the Kirkland V3's and is very happy with them.

Totally agree with this take. It feels just like the top balls on the market for a fraction of the price. Great to hear validation from a player of his caliber!

I've been incredibly fond of the Srixon Z stars.  Wait, those are $50/dozen.

Srixon offers frequent buy 2 get 1 free deals through the year which makes them more affordable.  They aren't priced as low as some of the other great deals and I understand that may not be what you're looking for.

If you can time it, these are outstanding when you can get them for the lower price.

I love the Maxfli Tour X balls and have been playing the last two generations of those balls (I still play them ALMOST exclusively). I also found the Volvik 4-piece Urethane cover S4 balls for $30/dozen on Amazon and gave a dozen of them a try. I wish that I had purchased more than one dozen of those Volvik S4 balls, because they are now up to $37/dozen when they are available at all.

4W - Titleist TSR2, Newton Motion 4-Dot FW shaft

HYB - Sub 70 949X 21*, original HZRDUS Black 85-S shaft

7W (if played) - Titleist TSR, ACCRA TZ6 7S

Irons - Cobra King Forged Tec X, KBS TGI graphite shafts

Wedges - Edison 2.0, 47* (bent to 48*), 53* and 57* (bent to 58*), KBS TGI 100 Tour S

Putter - Evnroll ER10 ""Outback” Mallet

Bags - Vessel / Ghost stand bags

Cart - MotoCaddy M7 Remote (without the remote)

Lots of short game practice has made this a strength; now the driver is causing problems!
