Testing is complete,  they have been putting the data together and taking pictures of the winners.   I would expect the article to be out in 2-3 weeks.

Yea I know, I just enjoy reading that article and the insight on it. I haven't bought a new driver in about 8 years, so I want all the info possible before going.

Well long time no see to this forum and golf in general. My last round of golf resulted in pulling my groin, that kept me from playing or even walking around much at the end of last season. On top of that winter has been long so there has not been a start to the current season for me.

On a happier note scrolling through the Ebay's I found something that brought me right back to golf. I was able to pick up a Cobra Aerojet Max 3 Wood (Head Only) which will be here on Saturday to replace my current LTDx Max. I also saved up my pennies and bought a fitted Cobra King Tec 3 Hybrid with a custom KBS Hybrid Prototype Shaft that will be here in the next week due to it being a custom factory order. I am excited to get this season started and try out my new toys.

So I have a bunch of things to add soon, but for starters, I wanna shoutout PRG Golf for their awesome head covers that don’t cost a fortune and are high quality. 

I’m from Kentucky, but live in San Antonio. So I’m a Louisville fan.

I cheer for the Yankees because growing up in Kentucky in the 90’s, we had no local team, so I gravitated to the only team I could regularly find on TV, the Yankees.

The Valhalla head cover is for 2 reasons:

1. The only major I’ve ever been to was a practice round at the 2000 PGA Championship (GO TIGER)

2. It’s tied with the Masters as my favorite major. The best field every year, on courses that are not as difficult at the US Open, but not as easy as the Open. It’s such an underrated event.

I’d like to add a Masters mallet cover sometime, but I’d prefer to do that in person, rather than have someone get it for me.

Yes indeed it is fun to read about them this year the reviews are full of AI and 10k MOI blah blah but I will say it's the first year in a few where some actual gains could be seen

My new JB Forged 58° wedge from Sub70 arrived yesterday and my initial impressions are….wow!! Great looking club in my opinion. Hit a few foam balls into the chipping net in the basement and hoping to get out in the next couple days to at least hit some balls at the range.

Seems every manufacturer is moving into the "milled " market in some way or another.  I like it!  As long as they don't affect performance...

I recently bought some used clubs. I got a TM 3 wood and a 3 hybrid. Also got a new wedge (Callaway Jaws Raw). I haven't had much success with woods/hybrids so wanted to test these out. I also bought an 18* utility iron, but it unfortunately had a cracked sole so am returning it. Can't wait to test them out when the weather breaks. Went from beautiful day with a record high temp of 73* on Tuesday (2/27) to ~30* and snowing last night/today (Wednesday/Thursday) - so we got that going for us.

That is a great looking wedge, Sub70 is no slouch in the aesthetic department that is for sure.

Recently picked up and old school Graffaloy Pro Launch Platinum shaft for my Sim Max driver, just to mess around with and I kid you not I was getting better numbers with it than the upgraded Ventus i already had. Launch was incredible, tightened up my dispersion and kept the spin perfectly around 2200. Really goes to show that just because something is new doesn't mean that its automatically going to be better for you. Ill be sticking with this thing for a while.

My used golf club garage sale is going well, so I decided to upgrade my Ping G410 3 wood.  I found a G425 Max 3 wood in excellent condition, so now the G410 has entered the garage sale.

Nevertheless, I took all the parts into my local proshop and asked if they could put it together for me. While they wont go together currently, he said we don't have to give up on the shaft because they make an adaptor that will make it work. Will report back once it's all together.

Adapter finally showed up, and got this project complete. Introducing Frankenstein's Monster !

Adapter came out a lot cleaner looking than I was expecting. Have only rolled a few putts so far, but the extra weight/length and smaller grip feels fantastic.

I almost pulled the trigger in a 10.5 sim2, fujikura 6s? Shaft today. Private Driving range was having a demo clearance sale to make room for all the 2024 clubs. $199. I just couldn't justify the extra (frivolous) spending to the lady boss if I did. They also had some PXG 0311? Drivers marked down to 200. These were all demo clubs, so they have been abused, but the sim2 looked great, and I was hitting 240 consistently.

I have a Sim 2 Max and love it…have tried some of the newer models this year (indoor sim) and there just want that much improvement for me.

I would have bought it. Better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Also, you could have said it’s from the thrift store.

It definitely isn’t a hobby. The spousal unit at la casa de Erin B has been searching for my travel set of irons. She’s been looking at Ping lately. and she wants to go to the PGA Superstore and spend the day. But she refuses to play. Oh well, I’ll take what I can get. Baby steps!
