Michael.Sandoval33
I am a beginner/high HC player and I was drooling over the new Ping Iron offerings and then remembered how long my fiance would remind me how much I spent when I just got really into golfing. Then I remembered somebody mentioned in a post where I was asking about my old blade irons, the Maltby KE4 Max irons that are available for a lot less. And now that is all that is on my mind. They are gorgeous and I wish there was a way to get my hands on them. I think they are going to be my first "major purchase" in golf (though the price is nice) berkeleybob, Preeway, BallsLeon and 3 others 6 Quote WITB Driver: Qi10 Max Hybrid: FX Max 5h 5i-9i: FX Max 10 Wedges: 48°, 52°, 56° Putter: HB Soft 14 Ball:

aguybadatgolf
I’ve been considering getting fit for wedges or a driver. My driver is fairly new, Cobra LTDx LS, that I self fitted. with so many new ultra forgiving drivers coming out I’m curious to to try them out. Off the tee is where I loose the most strokes and if a driver can help with that I’d make the switch in a heart beat. Wedges are just standard everything and I finally got fitted for irons and found that I am far from standard so also wondering if fitted wedges would help improve my scoring once I’m 140 yards and in. MattWillGolf
I currently have a Ping G400 Max that I was fit into in 2018. I am thinking of a new driver, honestly don’t need one but as this group knows, that’s not really a consideration. The Ping G430 Max 10k caught my eye. Then this morning I saw on the MGS website that PXG released their 0311 Black Ops line. They too have a high MOI offering in the 10k range and they offer a $150 savings through their For Heroes program. But it’s a bit early to make that decision as I watch snow falling and that courses won’t open up around here until the end of March. Lasted great but tired of the color. Had red trim and here in the south red fades badly, but still in great condition. I play three days a week and ride a cart. Passed it on to a friend who was in need of a good bad and purchased another one all black. Love them. As to comments regarding remember to place clubs in the right hole. Well you have to look for the right club in whichever bag you own. I like the way you can organize the bag, just be. Not the only Titleist bag I own, have a lightweight and a Tour Midsize. Have one for whatever occasion. The Cart 14 travels well in my SKB hard case when flying to a destination. But, I’m 58 yrs old & 6’4” so need them bent up 2*-3* and 1” long. I figure I have maybe 15-20 more years left and I “might” be convinced to go new and expensive cuz I figure that if/when I buy a new set of Irons they will be the last set I ever buy. Any changes from there will be swapping shafts. the other option (if i dont care whether my grooves eventually conform) is that I have my Father-in-laws old irons with graphite shafts that I could just pull and swap into my current irons and add a 1”extensions. I built them and my current set & know they would be a direct swap and then adjust swing weight. cksurfdude
Shrek74
I'm currently thinking about a hitting net for the garage. As I typically do for just about any purchase these days, I'm overanalyzing the purchase. I have 2 options: 1. 10x7 GoSports hitting net. No cross beam at the top to prevent the net from sagging (or at least that's my hypothesis). 2. 10x7 Generic (eBay) version of GoSports Elite hitting net with a full steel frame Option 2 is about 3x the price of option 1 ($70 v $190), but with that full steel frame I'm trying to decide if my concern about the sagging center section is a true worry or just me being overly concerned about a ball getting by the net and into the ceiling or garage door. I have to be 8' away from the net for my R10 to register the shot, which is more of the concern about the ball getting "past" the netting. It's my first net and hitting setup in the garage so I'm more than a little worried since I have no experience with it. I know you can buy that net extender to help with the life of the net, but that may be just heavy enough to cause the sagging I'm worried about. I'll be using it exclusively with real balls, either my gamer if I'm just doing some drills I don't need the R10 for, or with RCT balls when using the R10. I supposed I could always use rope/bungies to attach the top ends to the garage door tracks to help with the sagging. cksurfdude 1 Quote In My Sun Mountain C-130 'merica Cart Bag: Driver: Stealth+ Rocket 3W, 13.5* turned down to 12.75*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 75g Fairway: 949x 3w, 15*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Fairway: 949x 5w, 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Hybrid: 939x 4H (21*), Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Black, 90g Irons: 101's, 5-PW, DG120 S300 Wedges: 286 @ 50*, JBFG @ 54* & 60*, DG120 S300 Putter: 002 Mid-Mallet @ 35", Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, Desert Camo Ball: Tour & Testing Vero X1 Technology: H4 w/ Tags, Pro L2 Rangefinder

Two options and very much worth the price. I’m getting a replacement net this month. As long as you don’t hit the exact same spot 500 times it will last a long time. A concept my son didn’t grasp unfortunately until it was too late. But I’d say we have somewhere close to 5,000 shots hit into it before it became unusable. It has holes in it now. Worth the price for sure. Also check out Spornia. vandyland
36 minutes ago, Shrek74 said: Have you had any "sagging" issues with the middle of the top of the net? I know you can buy that net extender to help with the life of the net, but that may be just heavy enough to cause the sagging I'm worried about. I have the GoSports hitting net: Pros: It has lasted 3 years of living outside in the rain and elements. I have hit 5wood into it on several occasions and never had a ball go through (as long as you hit it in the center "basket"). I bought a replacement net when I first got it but I am still on the original netting! Generally pretty pleased with it. Cons: It definitely sags (especially when wet) and I would say it is best for mid irons for that reason. If left outside it will rust to the point that you can't take it apart (that is my bad). See picture below, the net effectively plays about 6 feet tall. Also side note, I am interested in both buying an OG Skytrak (I have talked myself out of this about a dozen times over the last year so probably will talk myself out of it again) AND/or a demo 7 iron from the Maltby TS1-IM range. So far I have already demoed the Maltby TE+ V4 DBM 7 iron and the Maltby TS3 7 iron. Somehow I just keep going on these. For the record, I DO NOT need new irons. My current irons are only about 2.5 years old and still have a lot of life in them. I just need to keep telling myself I don't need new irons, I don't need new irons, I don't need new irons... Here are the ones I'm looking at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/145530276490 https://www.rukket.com/products/rukket-9x7x3ft-haack-golf-net-pro https://www.playgosports.com/collections/golf-hitting-chipping-nets/products/gosports-golf-practice-hitting-net-huge-10-feet-x-7-feet-size (adding the next extender to the net) It'll be in my garage only, as once the weather breaks, I'll be on the ranges here in the community with the occasional garage session. The eBay one gives a bit more substance due to the steel frame, but it's not really a put up and take down every time kind of option. Oh, and you DO need new irons. cksurfdude, vandyland and ZJeb67 1 2 Quote In My Sun Mountain C-130 'merica Cart Bag: Driver: Stealth+ Rocket 3W, 13.5* turned down to 12.75*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 75g Fairway: 949x 3w, 15*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Fairway: 949x 5w, 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Hybrid: 939x 4H (21*), Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Black, 90g Irons: 101's, 5-PW, DG120 S300 Wedges: 286 @ 50*, JBFG @ 54* & 60*, DG120 S300 Putter: 002 Mid-Mallet @ 35", Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, Desert Camo Ball: Tour & Testing Vero X1 Technology: H4 w/ Tags, Pro L2 Rangefinder
MC3157
I just got fitted for some Ping G430 irons (7-50) after realizing that my current custom set of KZG irons are over 8 years old and I've been losing distance over the last year. Now just waiting for them to be built and delivered. Also thinking about a new bag this year as well. I love quality products so have been looking a Vessel cart bag. They are awfully expensive though!! My wife says this is my Christmas & birthday present for the next 2 years!!
