Golfspy_CG2
Update: Cleaned up although the back of the house needs a wash from where the tree hit it but no damage there. sixcat
This happened about 4.30 this morning. We can't get out the back door, so I have to take the day off and clear it all. It's a Bradford pear tree and the bane of my existence. We have another one on the other side of the patio and I'll be dealing with it at some stage too. It doesn't look like it damaged anything but I can't tell for sure until I start cutting. Bradford Pears are notorious for splitting once they get a certain size. Our previous house had a row planted down each side of our house spaced 15-20 feet apart. Someone thought it would make a nice privacy screen, I guess. Within a few hours of one another, one on each end of the house split and crashed to the ground. The one on the lower end of the house fell onto our neighbors landscaping. Cost a few thousand dollars for us to have it replaced. As we were cleaning it up, the one on the upper end fell on my car. It cost several thousand dollars to replace as well. I had the rest of those damned things removed! Rickp, PING Apologist #9 and MattF
Kor.A.Door
Oh don't apologize for posting "a ton" I think the internet still has some space left My post was more a case of self reflecting how my feelings on the subject and baseball have kind of taken a back seat to other things, versus an actual rant. Like #letsgocaps Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I honestly don't follow as closely as I used to. I just saw one day he was injured and the next he got suspended, it's almost like they came out with the suspension so it wouldn't affect the team since he was already missing most of that time anyway, he just isn't collecting his pay, but when you make 12 million a year or more, it doesn't matter. MattF
Sorry to hear that Matt...But looks like you're in line for one of these setups!! Nah, I like everything portable, plus a couple of things I made myself so I want to take them with me. Thanks fellas! Unfortunately, that wasn't the entire tree, just about half of it. But the half that remains, when it falls, won't damage anything. As a bonus, there's another one the same size on the other side of the patio that will cream a lot of stuff if it all goes at once, but I'm trying to do preventative pruning to avoid that until I can actually get time/money to get rid of the damn things. Whoever plants these trees needs a swift kick on the goolies.
