I caddied all through high-school and college. Where do I start?

 

I'd say it's a car in the water hazard on #5 at the club where I worked, but someone always put a car in that pond during the member-guest.

Well let me see.......today, while Rangering, we noticed that a silver pickup truck was at the bag drop, unattended with the driver door open and the motor running. We moved it aside & turned it off. I then started asking each group on the front nine if they had a silver truck. One of the players on #6 Green turned to another and said, “I thought you parked the truck” then the other said “I thought you parked it” then they started laughing.

 

I told them to get the keys at the Pro Shop when they made the turn.

Not sure if this fits, but here goes. Last summer we were playing the 15th hole that borders a large field. On the other side of the field one of the home owners had put up a nesting pole that was inhabited by a pair of Osprey. It was late summer and their young were now flying. We watched as the adults each dove to the ground and picked something up. They then flew above the young ones and in turn let out a sharp squawk and dropped what they had and the youngsters dove and caught it before it hit the ground. It was a very impressive display. The show went on for some time. Never saw anything like that before.

At one of the courses I play is a Red fox that will run out and steal your golf ball and run away with it

Went to visit my brother inlaw last summer and he took me to driving range that had boats washing machines barrels and all sorts of things at different distances. It really changes your focus from bashings balls to trying to land one in a boat or seeing who can be the first to lob a fifty yarder into a washing machine. I'm not a range guy but that was some good fun.

I'm not a range guy but that was some good fun.

Too bad you don't have a picture. I like aiming for the guy in the cage of the ball pickup machine on the range. Never hit him but it takes the boring out of the range.

I spent a few weeks on the island of Mo'orea (French Polynesia) several years ago and played on a Nicklaus design called Green Pearl. The course is not pristine; they just don't get enough play for comprehensive upkeep but it sits on an amazing piece of property.

Anyway, watching the maintenance crew get around the golf course was fascinating. They zipped around on old Vespas loaded 3 deep, each toting some sharp rudimentary implement for beating back the jungle by hand. If they ever laid down one of those scooters there would be seriously gruesome carnage, definitely not OSHA approved.

So many probably many have seen alligators, snakes all kinds from copperheads to rattlers, wild boar, horses, Fox, deer, coyot, turkeys, couple having sex, stolen car in pond, hot air ballon landing, rabid skunk shot by cop and herd of buffalo running down fareway.

Was too early in the day for any Adult Beverages. The Buffalo were in CT next to the golf course on what you would call a “Hobby Farm”. This guy has s ton of money and land and the entire extended family lived in this semi guarded land. One of the animal breeds he had were a few Buffalo who made a break for freedom one day.

saw one of those guys down on Jekyll Island... at first I thought it must have been a lawn ornament or pool toy or something, too big to be real...then it moved... I didn't spend much time on that hole, or wandering near any water to retrieve any balls!
