Has MGS been reformatted?

My flip phone makes calls to AAA when I have a flat

and to the Chinese restaurant when I want to pick up takeout on the way home.

 

I actually access MGS on my lap top.

And I still use a mouse as if it were a tower and monitor.

Chisag wasn't that far off with his "Model T"' crack, I suppose.

Lucky you, I tried to update it and nothing.  Uninstalled and tried to reinstall and it wont even install now

I also did a network reset yesterday and no dice. Today the app updated and now I'm back on. Do I think the network reset did anything iunno maybe. If you are going to do that remember that doing so means you'll have to redo all the passwords for all wifi you use and reconnect to any bluetooth you use again.

A couple observations:

1) I've noticed in the mobile app ever since things changed a month ago, when you click on a user, you don't get their full profile, just picture, number of posts, and join date. IIRC, it used to have whatever info they supplied - handicap, location, age, etc. Any way to get that information back?

2) When I clicked in the reply window to type this (on a laptop), it automatically filled in a response to this thread I had started to type a few days ago but ended up not posting. I had not noticed that before, but I think that is a cool feature for times we may get side-tracked and don't finish a post.

In the Reply Window when typing a response, is there a way to Indent a paragraph?  

We used to have a button to do that, but it seems to be missing.  There is room to add it.  The only options are Left... Center... and Right Justify.  Who uses Right Justify??

Just hit the TAB button on the computer. It should do the same thing.

I'll put 5 spaces in front of each line of the following paragraph.  Let's see how that works.

     That's called indenting the first line 5 spaces, but the rest of the paragraph isn't indented.  Well, I suppose I could write an entire paragraph and then go back and put 5 spaces in front of each line.  But that seems like a lot of work when we had a one      button that would indent the entire paragraph with one keystroke, especially when I write a paragraph that has a lot of lines in it.       I made a post today where I wanted to quote a paragraph from an article.  I wanted to indent it to highlight the paragraph and      separate it from my own words.  Maybe I shouldn't miss the indent button, but I do.  Is it that hard to put the button back?  Well,      that didn't work very well.

After the most recent update - which looks great, btw - I've noticed that posting from the full website does _not_ render properly in the app on my Android smartphone; eg. line spacing is off vs the inputted format.

Are “likes” something that can be adjusted. Really hate that we are limited in how many we can do a day, seems like for the past few days I am hitting my limit. Never had that problem in the past. Maybe the quality of content is going up, but I feel bad not acknowledging posts due to some artificially set limit.

Fixed.  The daily limit for donors was set super low to only 5.  Spread the likes!

Two other quick changes for things I've discovered:

1) Added three new reactions: Love, Sad, and Off Topic.  Love and Sad still give positive reputation and Off Topic is neutral.  Don't plan to ever add a negative reaction but Off Topic can be used as a gentle reminder. 

2) Found out I can modify the default streams.  Unread Content has been changed to Recent Content to reflect one of the more popular requests/tutorials throughout this thread.  It'll now show all content from the past 3 days regardless of status in the familiar timeline view.  When clicking on unread items, it *should* pop you to the most recent unread post instead of flying to the top.

I did not know there was a limit - why have a limit?  Feeling a bit cheated now on all the wasted key strokes.   Also, I've noticed some inconsistency in what emoji's are available in different post responses.  Some just had the like and ha ha, others had the pondering and  confused, and still others had all of them.

I think the limit was higher around 100 before the forum update. After the update, it knocked down but I just made that unlimited because why not? @cksurfdude has a fun post/thread about hitting the limit here:

Cool.  Just a few of the common emoji's get my vote.  Personally I do not favor dislike's or negative options - those created some pissy matches on another forum I'm on and they soon mothballed it.  Thanks for the feedback and also for taking on the new role!
