VIRTUAL WEEKLY MYGOLFSPY FORUM GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Week 2 - October 3rd through October 9th

Great participation from all the MGS Members that posted scores during the inagrual week of the Virtual MGS Forum Member Tour.  

Each week we will start a new thread for the scores and posts related to that week's activity.  Hopefully this will help keep the information categorized and we can focus on the task at hand... Playing Good Golf and Posting your scores in the weekly challenges.  

Looking forward to seeing those scores roll in!

I tried to get one more round in yesterday, but the course was packed.  As a single I finally got in at noon with a couple and another single.  I was walking... it was hot... and pace was very slow; lots of standing around.  I tweaked my back and quit after 6 holes and 2 hours.  I'll be ready to play again in a couple of days... hopefully!!

Ouch. that is a slow round, and a tweaked back to boot   Hope you find a nice quiet pain free day on the course soon Kenny.

I think I would have said F(*&^ it, head to the club house, rain check, and watch some football.

 

I highly doubt I'll get a round in this week. Traveling to Chicago for a lacrosse game and then Sub70 for some clubs.

I think a trip to Sub70 for a club fitting trumps posting a round in the MGS Tourney (but both would be even better!!!)  Good luck and safe travels JFish.

Great job in getting this going TCB!   I should have joined last week, but was too busy to take the time     I will have a round on Thursday (2nd round of our league Championship) to post.   So let's hope it goes as well as last or even better!

I’ll be getting a round in tomorrow, my back is feeling better so I’m going to try to not hurt myself and hope for a decent round

I am 60% hip is still a mess I’m hoping I can finish the round. I can’t do cardio right now without pain so no walking for me

Tough week at work this week with Quarter End Close, but hoping to find my way out to the course for a few 9's.  But plan to play both Saturday and Sunday upcoming... so I'll have a score or two to post in Week 2.  I have a score to settle with my golf game after my last outing lol.  

How about you guys?  Who's planning rounds and entering the Week 2 competition?? 

Will @Alf. Sand @Blueberry_Squishiehold on to the MGS Black Jacket???

I plan on entering but I only play golf once a week and have to hope the weather is good and I don’t have a higher priority item on my list.

There are very few.  Going to see my daughter at school is the main one.   Have to go out of town wedding next week so I will be driving home so I can’t play

I’ve got a quiet week, but playing last competition of the season on Saturday. Hopefully post a good round to keep you guy’s competitive.

Hoping to. Weather Thursday and Friday look A1 so might have to sneak out. Definitely not happening over the weekend.

Weather has turned here in the U.K.

combined with COVID & having to take the dog to specialist vets sadly don’t think I’ll be making it onto the course this week. Will be lucky to get on the Simulator the way the weeks going! 

hoping to enter something next week.

I understand Badger... stay tuned, the Mod Team is working on a SIM competition for the "offseason" which should be a blast.

I'll be missing Week 2, sadly - only 3 days in town, leaving tonight for a week back on the East Coast (of America, everyone-who's-not-from-here - sheesh) visiting family for the first time in 2+ years, introducing the littlest one to family, etc.  Should be able to get back out next Friday, though, so I'll be in the running for week 3? Lol - given the scores some of you all put up last week, my hopes aren't high about my positioning, but it'll feel good to be able to post something anyway. 

UNLESS NEXT WEEK IS THE WEEK IT ALL FINALLY COMES TOGETHER AND I DOMINATE YOU.  You've been warned.

The tale of 2 9’s. Tried a new driver and iron swing on the front, went back to old faithful on the back. Not going to bother actually entering this because it just makes me sad. I do have a Friday round where I’m hoping for redemption and an actual score submission.

You know what, I will post this round so I can be the one and only leader at this point in time. May be the only time this ever happens.

Personal Handicap: 19

Course Handicap: 22

Adjusted Score: 81 (+10 )

Net Birdies: 3 Holes 6, 11, 12 (One stroke on each hole and then 2 strokes on the 4 hardest holes?)

Longest Drive: 231 yd

I love this idea, but my round last week was rather embarassing, so I didn't post it. Today was 15 strokes better!

I played Walden Ponds (Cincinnati) from the blue tees (probably a bit long for me normally, but the fairways were really running so it was a good decision) which are rated 70.8/127. My index is 8.1, course handicap was 8, and I shot a 78 (par 72), net 70. (It could have been 4 or 5 strokes lower with better local knowledge). I had 6 net birdies (none gross ), and my longest drive was a downhill, downwind, firm fairway 281. My normal drive is more like 241.

My weakness is iron accuracy, but the chipping game was real good today!

We have all had those rounds Moose.  I think I have more than my share of them!!!  Glad you played better this week and thanks for posting in Week 2!!

And hey... downhill, downwind, cart path, rattling around in a cart driving down the adjacent hole until it falls out.... all counts when you measure the yardage!!  Nice Drive!!

Not looking promising.  Got 9 in on Monday but appointments plus family/grandkids informing us they are visiting this weekend may prevent finishing.  Monday was weird -still having eye issues and warming up on the range my eyes were flooding with blurred vision.  Told my wife I wasn’t sure I could play and almost cancelled.  Anyways, I did play and eyes started improving..  Shot 40 (par 37) with 6 pars and 1 birdie, net -1.  Saw a specialist Dr the next day and she confirmed what I’m experiencing and well versed on documented eye issues after Covid. More tests next week.
