Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! It's looking to be a beautiful day here and I've going to get out later and go to the range with a buddy of mine. I'm taking the Mevo out so we can both have some fun and glean some information out of it. After that, I have a ribeye and some shrimp that my wife and I are going to cook for dinner tonight. Popular Post Wheelieb
Alright, reply done and on to my actual day. The wife had a long week as she became the defacto boss since she is number two, and the real boss was out sick with covid. So she’s sleeping still and I’m going to let her. My male pup has become attached to her hip so he is with her right now. The two girls knew it was time to get up and go out and get breakfast. As for me, I’m sitting here drinking coffee pondering what we are going to do today. May go over to williamsburg and go walk around some stores. I’ll try to drag her into the golf store up there if we do go. When we sat on the aluminum benches at my alma mater's football games, we got seatbacks at dear old Walmart. Then the school got smart and started leasing them out for the season, fixed to your seats. I went for that to avoid having to carry the things back and forth from distant parking lots. And looking at it now, they have a lot more options then I had then. Search "folding seats for bleachers" at walmart.com. If you prefer a different vendor, Dick's has them, and I'm sure any other big sporting goods company does as well. Good morning Spies! I found a YouTube video last night and sent it to GF with the exact garage sim setup I just ordered, including Awesome Golf. This morning she said let's get that too. But I'll wait to order AG until I have something to use it with. Then we looked at a rental truck to clean out the garage; most of it is crap that is going straight to the landfill, so we'll just fill up the truck (no worry if anything breaks) and make one trip. Popular Post Indy_Oz
Morning all and happy weekend! No club swinging planned today, which is good as I'm all swung out from yesterday. Mobility drills, stretches and 30 min sim warmup yesterday lunchtime, then an hour driver and fairway wood fitting with the TM QI10s and after that I saw some drivers in the used section I wanted to try out to compare so a few dozen more swings in the hitting bays. Too many full speed driver swings for this aging body and I feel the effects this morning. Ha ha. I have tiger balm on my lower back (old injury) and will be doing a good yoga/ mobility session later in the garage gym. Will probably get to do the workout with my 12-year old son, which is always entertaining. Taking the dog for a long walk shortly, so will do my usual morning stretching during the walk and then have some garage sorting/ decluttering to keep the body moving. Golf-wise, I have my first round of the year booked for tomorrow. I am going to spend a little time later replacing some club grips to continue the oversize adventure with Superstrokes for the last fairway wood and hybrid. I'm really liking them so far. May stick with Golfpride jumbo size for irons and wedges, but going to try jumbomax on an iron and wedge after tomorrow's round. Playing at a nice, but tight and challenging, woodland public course on the edge of a big city park and lake. No pressure to score well, just nice to get out and hit on grass and practice! Hoping to stay out of the trees, but planning ahead and will have plenty of spare balls. LMAO ILMgolfnut, William P, Byrnzee and 9 others 12 Quote 2024 WITB: G430 LST 9* w. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone! Up early to hit the course again today. Only played nine holes yesterday; still too cold and wet for me... parred the first two holes and the last two holes with bogeys in-between. Very foggy and the wet fairways mean the ball doesn't fly very far and doesn't roll either. A bad combination for me. It's a struggle just to get short of the green with a chance for par. Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new 5 hybrid that, according to UPS, is out for delivery. This is a gap club. According to my launch monitor (Garmin Approach r10) my 7 iron average carry is about 152 yards and rolls out another 7 to ten yards. Having played it for several months now I agree. My 6 iron lands 4 to 5 yards further on average, but can go much much further if I hood it over just a little. I don't like closing down the face like that as it can cause a long distance vicious hook. So the six will roll out to about 170 depending on my ball strike and how much back spin I put on it. I try to spin it into the greens on the long par 3s and if I do that well I will get a high flight and a soft landing that stops dead at 165. My 4 hybrid is a Ping G430 that lands consistently in the 175 to 180 yard range. It comes down pretty steep but will still bounce out an additional 10 yards. This leaves me with a gap of 15 to 25 yards which makes 3 of the 4 par 3s very difficult to manage as the pin locations usually sit in the 170 to 180 yard mark. I have been a fan of Tour Edge clubs for years. Good quality clubs built for forgiveness and accuracy long before forgiveness and accuracy became popular. Their "tour" stuff is built for the Senior Tour. Anyway they have built the E series hybrids as scoring clubs instead of grip it and rip it distance clubs. If my 5 gets here before dark I will take it to the range today and the course tomorrow. I will need the accuracy part as the night before last's rain accumulation was just shy of 3/4 of an inch and the course was awash in run off and closed yesterday. Today it is open, cart path only, and a river of casual water runs down between about a dozen fairways. Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning spies, Another cold and gray day in CNY. Woke up slightly achy from my hour at the driving range the other day. I haven’t used “golf muscles” for several months. Nothing big on our Saturday agenda. Heading to a little candy shop in Rome, NY for some “Turkey Joints” a local tradition. Wishing all a wonderful day! rkj427, Dead Solid Bogey, Kenny B and 11 others 14 Quote Anyday Maverick Black Ops 7-way 0311 Black Ops 8° w/Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60 0311 XF 3 wood 16° w/Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue Paradym X 5 - GW w/True Temper Elevate MPH Official Forum Test SM9 54°/12° D and 58°/12° D w/KBS Tour 110 DF3 w/BGT Stability ONE Forum Test ER11v 34” Evnroll ER11v Official Forum Test Shot Scope Pro LX+ Pro LX+ Official Forum Test Elixr 3.5+
