I liked Chi Chi of course everyone did. My favorite Shell's Wonderful World of Golf was when he and Trevino played in Chi Chi's home town in Puerto Rico. Great guy and never ever forgot where he came from and did a lot to help his fellow citizens

Not gonna lie, I miss the Florida days as you could almost always get a morning tee time at a golf course on a weekend. Sometimes you just had to drive between 45 minutes and an hour and a half to get to those courses. But I loved it

Update on the Zoom call for skillbridge. I’m shifting away from that company as they are not actually a company for doing skillbridge at. They are more recruiting company head hunting the people who are trying to do skillbridge, then charging the company the company 300 dollars a week while you do your internship. So shifting focus to a different company and going to try doing something in Human Resource as my chief said that would be a good fit for me since I’m a people person. Figure why not. Could be fun.

I just want to thank everyone for the well wishes, I was still feeling a little rough with a scratchy throat and runny nose when I got home and took a Covid test... Positive. 

I haven't had a fever and nothing more annoying than the sore throat and the nasal drip and hopefully it won't get worse than that. I'm just really hoping my wife and sister-in-law don't come down with it.

Good afternoon fellow spies!

It's been a busy week for us. Golf and non-golf.

Two nights ago the family and I went to a concert at a local outdoor amphitheater with approx 24000 close friends... ha ha. The headline band was Cage The Elephant, my daughter's favorite band right now.  It was her and her younger brother's first proper concert. Perfect weather and great performances from all the acts on the card.

Last night was league golf. Frustrating evening with the sticks; I shot 40 (+4). 6/9 GIR and missed all birdie putts (8ft to 25ft) despite rolling the ball well and getting very close on a few. Driver behaved perfectly- 4/4 fairways hit with good distance (2 drives a couple of yards shy of 300). Need to remember and embed those swing thoughts! 3W was the bad actor for a change. Or rather, my swing with it was uncharacteristically loose. Anyway, some promising signs, some things to work on. We both won our head to head matches and the team match, so should get a few more valuable points to stay with a chance of catching the league leaders with two weeks left.

Today I went to Golf Galaxy for the free GT driver fitting. I wasn't worried about trying fairway woods as I love my TSR2 woods. But trying the new GT2 and GT3 was the aim and was a lot of fun. They're really nice! Great feel and sound, as you'd expect and distance was solid. After going through the stock shafts in stiff and x-stiff, I tried blue and black Ventus. Funnily enough, the new ventus shafts felt great. Ha ha. Easily the best combo for me was with the ventus black 6x and GT3 set to 8*, draw bias on the hosel and adjustable weight in center. After I was warmed up sufficiently, I was consistently swinging at 108-110mph and seeing a nice fade shot shape. That said, I am supposedly just a few weeks from receiving the Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max driver, so any thoughts of buying a Titleist to complete the top end of the bag are shelved for a while. In the unlikely event I don't get on with the Ai Smoke, I'll sell that and the Ping to fund a GT.ha ha

Round booked for Sunday morning with a friend and work done for the day. Cooler weather forecast for the weekend, but dry, so looking forward to golf and getting some yard work done.

They had an event at True Blue Monday Before last. He had several side bets because like 12 players from our course and league play in it. Man it is expensive like $150 per player. He called me like 2 hrs from starting time. One of our guys for some reason had called off at the last minute. Now this guy has more money than you know who and had paid for everything. Please Stuey come I need you. Come to find out he had made several side bets with other teams. In fact one team cancelled the bet when they found out I was the substitute. LOL we did not win the overall event but according to club scuttlebutt our team won every bet. Really nice people and I ran into a guy I had not seen in like 7 years. In staging he had seen my bag with the old lead taped Macs in it and he recognized the Zing too. We talked and he said he knew it was me because no one he knew played such stuff. Yeah Old Rusty Scotty is on vacation for now. Yes it was a well ran event and I enjoyed it but that does not mean I will pull for or become a USC booster. Hope you do not disown me for this. I promise not to wear the USC SEC shirt they gave me when around you. Had fun ate well and it did not cost me one red hot cent

I can't give you too much stick, some of my best friends are all screaming chicken fans and I know where you stand on the orange/burgundy rivalry.  All in all those chicken guys can host a decent event when they try.  On top of it, sounds like some of those guys found out what it's like to hold a bet when guy rolls up with the lead tape chronicles in his bag.  *if you ever find yourself in this situation, limit your bets to how much money you want to pay to the other guy. 

I'll have to bring you some orange next time I'm down your way to balance out that awful USC shirt.

LOL my buddy George will have a heart attack. He will say man I thought we were friends or I taught you better than that. I accused him the other week of having the chicken tattooed on his butt in color. We get a kick out of that because he knows I do not give 2 rips. He will tell the guys that if he keeps playing golf with me he will have me converted.

Btw they had to order a shirt for me because they did not have any big enough to fit me at the event. The one sweet lady at the gift booth said she would get me one. I asked her if they did not have football players big or as big as me?? I told her if not no wonder Clemson kicks their tails. Everyone within earshot laughed. One of the guys from my club asked what was going on? One of the other guys told him Just Stuey being Stuey

Good morning Spies on what will be a busy no golf day for me here in the Motor City.

Weather for the next week will be absolutely picture-perfect, and the upcoming week is a big week as far as all things related to cool and classic cars here.

A lot of big shows and events, most raising money for charities, and I will be involved in a few of them, and will post pictures afterwards.

Need to get my car ready for a show tomorrow, so clean and detailing it in the garage today for the upcoming events.

Hope that those who have the opportunity to play golf have low scores, but very fun and enjoyable times.

Good Morning to the good people of our good golf forum!!

Well it almost looks like it's threatening to *clear up* outside vs the non-stop grey and rain for the past however many days... Wow it will be nice to see the sun again!

So in the world of a strange confluence of dates - yesterday the 9th was my wife's divorce date years ago .. today the 10th we're going to her Ex's wedding (they stayed on good terms for the kids, and he was at our wedding) .. tomorrow the 11th is our anniversary...

.. and if it counts as some sort of numerologically important thing  then the 12th is my godson's birthday...

So .. should I play the Mega Millions or should I go hide out in an underground bunker

As Blue Shirt Guy would say .. "Don't have a good day - make it a great day!"

Good morning Spies!

Up early to head to Notre Dame to play their Warren Golf Course. It’s always a treat when I get back to campus and the course is an absolute gem. Should be a nice day, but a little windy. 

My mom and sister are visiting the next few days, so my wife and I will be cleaning up later in preparation for their arrival tomorrow morning. 

Hoping USA can take the gold in the women’s golf! Going to miss it but will be following along throughout the day. 

Hope everyone has a great Saturday and if you’re lucky enough to be golfing, hit ‘em straight! ️

It's the weekend!
Beautiful weather, renovated gas pumps at my local warehouse club re-opened, coffee onboarded and dogs awaiting their morning walk.
@Indy_Oz I went to the Titleist GT fitting as well.  My main take away was the fitter complimenting my Stix Compete driver after he hit a few.
@rkj427 If you're setting up anywhere near Dream Cruise ground zero, I'd love to see the car(s).  We usually get out of town, but we're home this year.  My house is the one directly below the all day long hovering news choppers

Good morning everyone. Last day of the golf trip and ready to head home. Playing Awarii Dunes for what is very likely the last time. Not sad about it, but bummed they’ve let the course fall into disrepair. The course really could be a gem but it’s currently nothing more than a bad city muni. Tomorrow will be a day to sleep in a little and get in one last round for August. Will share more information about tomorrow’s round, tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Fyi everyone else.. it looks really nice when you arrive, and it has some really interesting and fun golf challenge holes, buuuuuut....

Some areas around the course and some of the greens were just barely kept up, and there was one complete hole and green that looked like it had been sprayed with Agent Orange it was so bare and dry. Sad.

A fine good morning to everyone on a sunny but somewhat cooler, almost fall like day.  Enjoying my morning espresso, catching up. Started my weekly golf lessons yesterday and it was so refreshing to review and concentrate on the fundamentals.  Made a nice difference in the round that followed.  Today will be a yard work day.  Have a great day.

Good morning, Spies!!

Today is the day! I'm excited about the next two days. If nothing else, I get to play golf over the next 2 days.  We have one of the last tee times of the day, which kind of sucks. I'm hoping the humidity will be less than the mornings, which it should be. Looks like highs will only be 82* today, which is great. Lot's of sun, so gotta make sure to paint on the sunblock.

Clubs are nice and clean. A dozen new Maxfli Tour's marked and ready to go. PB&J's made for both days. Clothes laid out for when it's time to clean up and get ready. I'm thinking the only real nervousness is around rules and how to execute on them if I need to. We try to stick to them when we play normally, but there are some that may come up that we don't usually deal with and I'm a bit concerned I won't execute on something correctly. All I can do is my best with all that and move on.

Anyway, wish me luck and I'll be sure to report later on the Who Did You Play thread each day after updating my Shot Scope round.

Good morning everyone from the friendly confines of quarantine! 

I'm just now getting going after a fitful night of sleep. I can't say I'm feeling any better or worse this morning, just that I've traded a runny nose for a stuffed up one. 

At least I was able to get some golf in yesterday and had a good time on the course. 

@rkj427 have fun getting ready for all the classic car shows and I can't wait to see photos! 

@cksurfdude you might want to buy some lotto tickets and happy anniversary to you and the wife tomorrow. 

@Josh Parker that's an exciting email to wake up to.
