BillL
I had my set regripped before buying 2 new wedges and a new hybrid. I've those grips as is for now as they are comfortable and in good shape. I will potentially get all the same next spring or if I notice excessive wear. I've gone back and forth on putter grips, but have kept the stock Odyssey 2 Ball putter grip that came w/ the club when I bought it 2 years ago. JoeB1
With the exception of the putter, 2 types. Both are Winn midsize DriTaks, irons and wedges are the wraps and hybrids and woods are the typical. I found for some reason it messed with my mind to have different sizes of grips, as I tried oversize on the driver and a hybrid and when I went back to my irons I was shutting the face too hard. JWK1969
I haven't read through all of the thread responses, but I'm probably in the minority here. I have only 2 grip types on my clubs (putter excluded). My driver/3w are both Golf Pride Tour Velvet jumbo, which my 7w and irons are Tour Velvet midsize. My wedges are Lamkin midsize. Probably it would make sense to try out some other grips to see if I get greater feel or comfort, but I just haven't bothered. The Tour Velvet grips are familiar to me. The Lamkins are only because the wedge company from which I bought the wedges only used Lamkin. Though, I have to say, I do like those grips, too, having gotten used to them. MC3157
For many years I always liked the Winn Dri-Tac grips and used mid-size for several years as my hands get extremely sweaty and the Dri-Tacs are the best at handling sweaty hands. Then I had to have carpel tunnel surgery and can't close my hands as strong as when I was younger so I moved up to the oversize Winn's. The Dri-Tac grips wear out pretty quickly and being in Florida and playing every week I was changing grips about every 6-8 months. So, this past year I started trying out the JumboMax grips. I started out trying the JumboMax JMX Ultralite in the medium size on my driver. That grip was about the size of a small ball bat (which I was used to after playing ball for 38 years) and there was some adjustment to the size. I felt it was just a bit too large so, I then put the same grip in the small size on another shaft that I could change out on my driver. I liked that one a bit better but was still looking something a bit smaller but larger than the Winn oversize. I've now landed on the XS size of the JumboMax STR8 Tech Ultralite Non-Tapered Grips. This is the smallest size grip that JumboMax makes (to my knowledge) and it fits me perfectly! I have this grip on all of my clubs except my putter of course which has a SuperStroke Fatso 1.0 on it. I still have the 2 shafts with the Small and Medium sized grips on them in case I decide to go back to the larger grips. So far, the JumboMax grips are wearing really well and I only change my grips when they are either worn out or I buy a new club as I want my grips to be the same throughout my set. richk9holes and BallsLeon 2 Quote Driver: Callaway Epic Speed 9* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 65, Stiff 3 Wood: Callaway Epic Flash 3 Wood 14* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 75, Stiff Hybrids: Callaway Epic Flash #3 17* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 70, Stiff Callaway Epic Flash #4 20* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 70, Stiff Callaway Epic Flash #5 23* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 70, Stiff Callaway Epic Flash #6 26* - Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 65, Regular Irons: Ping G430, Red Dot, 7, 8, 9, W, 45.5*, 50*, ALTA CB BLACK, Regular Wedges: Edison Forged - 55*, KBS PGI 80, Regular 2* Flat Putter: Odyssey Toe Up #1, Ball: Vice Pro

I had every intention to pick one and make my bag more uniform... but here I am a year later. I'm on a similar journey, but coming around to the idea I don't need the same throughout (with the help of this support group..eh-hem..forum thread) My putter has a grip that is slightly larger than what my hand size would dictate, but I want that extra width when attempting a putting stroke. I continue that into CP2 mid wraps on my wedges, which are often used with delicate touch like a putter, but also get swung wildly at times I want extra grip in my hand but the wrap texturing for control as I grip down I can find that groove with my forefinger all the way down. On irons I take full swings I don't want extra grip in my hand I use standard size and the crosslines that came on them suit me well. I found a preference for corded grips on any club I might attempt to swing faster than my comfort zone. That extra confidence my 3w won't slip when swinging 99 mph I find comforting. I don't need it on a 80-88 mph swing with an iron. My driver has an iomic 2.3 which is undersized. I want this so I can take my absolute firmest grip on that club. My hands are as close to being on the club as possible while still having a tacky layer with incredibly low torque. This grip completes the transition from putter to driver, "too big for my hand size" to "undersized based on my hand size" Quote Finding a way to turn birdies into bogeys since 1992. #TeamChunks '23 Forum Tester: Elixir Golf Ball WITB:TS2 10.5° @ 11.25° Tensei blue AV 55 R graph•917f2 15° @ 16.5° Diamana blue x5ct dialed 70 R graph•Stealth 22° Ventus red 6 (non-velo) R graph• 699u 2i 17° tgi 70 R graph•24° Tour v 90 black pvd R steel•699 6i-PW Tour 110 black pvd R steel• SM8 50°/08° @ 52°/10° SM8 stock steel• Jaws Full Toe 56°/12° DG Spinner TI steel • c series DW 2.0 slant neck stock steel•Phantom 2 gps•Tour v3 rangefinder•Elixir golf ball•

ctg44
... I would highly recommend wrapping your fingers around a Lamkin ST Hybrid +2 grip and see what you think. The best thing I can say about them is I no longer even notice them. I play without glove and need a solid connection with no slipping so I had to wipe down my Tour Velvet, REM3's and UTx with a towel almost every swing to keep the grip tacky or they slipped and the ST Hybrids don't need to be wiped down during a round at all. I don't have to tell you about marketing but the Fingerprint Technology/Genesis Material is the real deal. Not tacky but no slipping. Worth a look. I would second the recommendation for the St Hybrids. They also last nearly forever compared to GP grips. These are easily the best grips I've ever used. jdshilling
Boy, this a topic for me - I don't like to change balls, or to change clubs, but I seem to be always trying new grips. I don't use a glove - all these grips seem fine on the clubs they are on - but I would not say they would work on other clubs. All my grips are standard size - Lamkin Sonar Tour, grey on my Driver and 3W. - the top of the grip was too wide and dug in to my hand, so I used a belt sander and ground it down to a reasonable diameter. Golf Pride CPX, grey on my 4W and 6W - I hated these on my Driver and 3W, but they seem fine on these shorter clubs - weird. Pure DTX, white on my irons and wedges - these are my favorite - they are very grippy, maybe too much grip for the faster clubs. Iomic ABSOLUTE, orange on my putter - Have used this for 5 years or so. They get 'gummy' forcing me to change them, maybe once a year - I clean them often, sometimes during the round. They have such a good tacky feel and the diamond pattern is perfect - also, the shape and size fit my hands well. So, that is it, 4 different grips for me. richk9holes

Normal wear aside, especially on wedges, I'd really like to keep my grips as long as I can as I really don't want to keep spending money on new grips every time the irons start to slip a bit more. The result is I have 6 different grips (7 if you count my putter) to go with my 8 different shafts. So when replacing it's fairly simple unless you have say a Scotty Cameron putter and want to maintain the kudos and value by paying a hell of a lot more for named grip. If I buy a club, whether it be new or second hand, if the grip is in good condition, I'll leave it on until it needs replacing at which point I'll fit GP Tour Velvet. They are easy to fit, the most easily available, wear well, providing you clean them regularly with non-oil based cleaner, and they are reasonably priced. However, if the fitted grip is anything other than standard grip thickness, I'll change it.
