Ian of TXG was saying the same thing with being able to feel the friction, pretty cool! TM has definitely stepped their wedge game up over the last few releases.

... Did something crazy today. I played golf! My buddy is in town for a business conference and we are playing Fri/Sat at 2pm but he calls from the airport "F**k the conference, let's play NOW!" The course had an 11:44 open so I booked it. I just built him a set of T100S with Project X 6.0 LZ's and bent them to his specs: D3 swing weight, 1/4" short and 2* flat, so his set was perfect and ready to go. But coming from Tampa, he has played less than I have and this is his first round in almost 2 months so no wonder he wanted to play NOW! My 2 week rusty was better than his 2 month rusty. 100* and on the 2nd hole he says "I'm only doing 9 because it's too hot" I had to laugh at only 100* in my wool sweater.   By the 6th hole he had adjusted to the heat and was gonna play all 18. What a trooper ! 

... 3 bogies and 2 birdies and hope to play better the next 2 days. But even if I don't, it's awesome having my #1 playing pard in town for 3 days of golf in a row!

Yea, I live here, I am not a Bears fan, but couple guys in my band are hard core, told them when they drafted him, he isn't the guy. They still don't want to see it. You know, he might be a victim of this awful ownership, maybe he could be good in a better system, but I just never thought he read the field good enough.

... I have said this many times but the two absolute requirements to play QB anywhere but certainly in the NFL is the ability to read defenses both pre snap and after snap and accuracy. I never saw him play in college, but Fields has displayed neither since joining the Bears. I'll take a smart QB with a weak arm over a strong arm freak athlete that can't read a defense. 

... I would add one of the progressions of playing QB is how open is your WR. In High School it is pretty common for a WR to be wide open against both man to man and zone defenses. It is very clear from pre snap that many defenses never change post snap and seeing the open WR is usually pretty easy. It get more complicated in college as obviously the talent level on defense is much better as are the defenses you face. There is still plenty of pre snap reads that don't change but the top DC's will throw some wrinkles at you, dropping DE's into coverage and blitzing LB's and DB's. You also have to anticipate routes and throws much more than high school. 

... The NFL just take things exponentially to a new level. It is pretty rare to have a pre snap read be the same as post snap. Sure some deep coverages can remain constant and just looking off a safety can help open a WR but more often than not something changes. But I think the biggest difference is what is considered an open WR in the NFL. We see QB's throwing open a WR much more often than a WR finding a big hole in a zone or beating his single coverage badly and having a 5 yd separation. DB's also recover from being out of position insanely quickly at the NFL level. And this is where Fields is completely lost.  He evidently needs to see his WR open before he will throw the ball and again that worked in high school and to a big degree in college, but it won't work in the NFL. I think Tua is one of the best at anticipating and throwing open WR's and this is a pretty good illustration.

Fun reminiscing about the fun Orlando courses @tdroma98.  It’s always been a great venue for golf. Also played a course near MCO, I think North Shore? Also Shingle Creek, Hunters something, and had another alumni event (again not UCF) off the 408 in the Clermont area that has a baseball name but probably turned into a housing development.  You seem to know all the courses in the area!

We did a golf trip to Orange County National about a decade ago. My recollection of the courses is a bit hazy, but I liked Crooked Cat a little better than Panther Lake. At any rate, fond memories of a group I don’t see much any more.

Never played OC Natl but always heard good things. A lot of good courses in that area but never played much down there.  Was invited to play Bay Hill once, but was during a conference I was the lead for the DoN and just didn’t have any free time to accept.  I should have lol.

I understand completely. For a 2 year period, I was flying in and out of various points in Florida for work and kept telling myself, one of these times I’m going to sneak out for a round, but I never managed it. I should have.

Hate how work interferes with life!  Used to attend the Bay Hill Classic many years ago when my wife worked for Pepsi (before going back to school) and they were a sponsor so we had a lot of access.  Was a big Nicklaus fan and one of my favorite tournaments is the Memorial in Dublin and would love to go one day.  My family originated from Worthington.

... This is exactly why you never confront someone on a golf course after the initial interaction is not reciprocal. We have all had someone hit into us or someone in our group hit into someone accidentally and the discussion is one of apology and usually accepted. But every now and then the apology is met with anger, so always just move on. If someone steals your golf ball they are looking for a confrontation.  And ya never know who has a gun in their bag or a head full of demons. I would have thought this pretty normal for Florida or Texas so I am a little surprised by Ohio ... but only a little.

... Interesting.  I love Panther Lake but don't really care for Crooked Cat. Went there for the PGA Show and usually spent about two weeks playing a ton of golf. A lot of courses I only played once as I thought they were ordinary and over priced. My Orlando favorites are Orange Lake The Legends (the best kept secret in Orlando) Champions Gate CC and Champions Gate International, Grand Cypress and Celebration.
