The Good Evening Thread

Erin B

Recommended Posts

Good evening spies! Hope all is well. Finished my 99th USGA round today. Unofficially I’ve played about 125 rounds since January. Unfortunately our season here doesn’t start until April and ends in October. This is the second year in a row I’ve seen played over 100 rounds, but the first year of official USGA rounds, Tuesday will make 100. Anyway it was a fun round and we crushed 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours because no one was on the course. Ok, enough of me, how was y’all’s day?

Evening spies! Just finished with dinner and now it's time to unwind.  Watching a few videos on the orange whip training sessions.

Losing a day off due to having semi annual recertifications and in-service training.  Hopefully the weather holds clear and I can get some type of golf in tomorrow

Good evening Spies on what turned out to be a very nice weather day here.

Sunny, low 70's and a nice breeze to keep things cool.

Spent time at both the range and practice putting green this afternoon while SWMBO went to a bridal shower.

Practice was good, and hoping to get 2 and possibly 3 rounds in during the upcoming week.

Watching the Lions-Rams game and currently halftime, a good game so far, and hoping they continue that for the duration of this game.

Congrats. on the huge number of rounds @Erin B., and @Rob Person hopefully works settles down and you can get your round(s) in.

Good Monday evening spies! Lots of stress today, no golf, and los poopy isn’t feeling good. Tough day! Tomorrow looks to be better though as I have a tee time scheduled. Have a dr app. too but shouldn’t take too long. Poor los poopy!!! It’s the tan one. She jumped off the bed last night and her back is a little sore. Anti inflammatory drugs in her now. She’s still eating and can move so just a little sore.

She’s got her support poopy so she’ll hopefully be back to normal soon enough.

Thank you! We’ve had quite a few weenies. One we call the $10,000 ween. She’s an arsehole and has been beaten up several times because of her attitude. She is so stubborn that when we repaired her from the last fight she couldn’t walk. The vet said she was paralyzed. So we bought her a wheel chair and started training her. She hated it so much she decided she could walk. Been fine ever since except for a bladder stone that had to be surgically removed, hence $10,000 ween.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

Dachies like to jump and it’s a bad habit that’s hard to break.  We’ve had 3 dachies and 2 right now.  Our oldest is 14+ and at age 7 had to have life saving spinal surgery. That lasted 2 years and we made the decision 2 years later to do another when it was either that or put him down.  UGA vet hosp did that surgery and provided great care.  I was hoping for a few good years and he has done amazing.  During that time my wife got him certified as a therapy dog and he loved doing that but he is retired now.

He no longer jumps because he can’t.  Over the past few years he has had symptoms of more back issues and each time we started him on 5mg prednisone for about a week and then ween him off.  It’s works wonders.  He is very much slowing down the past 1 1/2 years but still has a good life.

Good luck with yours!

Thank you! She’s moving around better now, went outside on her own, just has a slight limp. Weens are such obnoxious, stubborn, funny, and loving dogs!

I am absolutely befuddled right now.  I can not figure out what I am doing in my set up/grip or swing that is causing these fades.  They are purely struck out of the middle, but they are just falling hard right.  Even if I close the face early.

Last week at the scramble, driver was going absolutely dead straight, and irons had a smidge of right to left.  Now, it’s all falling right.

I don’t want to mess with anything because I don’t think anything is messed up.  Must not be releasing the club as I think I am.  Going to take the rest of the week off,  hopefully my brain forgets whatever it is that is causing this.

There could be a number of reasons but when I fade an iron it’s 100% because my takeaway isn’t to the inside enough.  Getting in the right position at the top of the back swing with quiet arms lets the down swing to occur without any subliminal compensations to get back on track.

Good evening Spies on what was another glorious weather day here.

@Shankster sometimes a brief pause is all that is needed to rectify certain issues, especially if you feel confident in your grip, set-up and swing.

@Erin B hoping los doggos gets back to being normal sooner rather than later.

Today for me was another "play in the garage" on some vehicles, and for me an enjoyable way to spend some time.

Rounds scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and both upcoming weekend days for me, with the weather looking to be very nice throughout that time period.

@William P did you have your Titleist fitting today? If so, please provide some details.

Hope all have a good evening.

Hopefully everyone had a fantastic start to their week. Wishing you a pleasant evening, and if you have the chance, enjoy a nightcap.

@ShanksterGood luck with the swing.

@Erin B hopefully your dog is on the upswing.

@William P I’m interested in what went on with your Titleist fitting.

Thanks all! And yes bang bang Niner gang!!!

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

Thank you! She’s moving around better now, went outside on her own, just has a slight limp. Weens are such obnoxious, stubborn, funny, and loving dogs!

They are amazing dogs, incredibly loving and loyal.  Very smart too.  I remember we had to sign a commitment and pay a deposit at UGA that upon doing the mri we would agree to surgery if that as recommended as a result.  Estimated cost was around $5000.  I remember thinking at the time that would be the cost of a trip to Europe or a cruise.  But we weren’t ready to lose him.

I’ve often thought of that decision and while the trips would be nice, they’d only be for a week or 10 days.  So far we’ve had one of our best friends ever for the past 6 years (14+ total) and counting.
