Do you have a preference to which type of tee you use?

I used to think it didn't matter what I used for a tee. I'd pick up discards at the range, freebies from golf tournaments,  99c bags from stores, and so on. I probably have half a dozen different types in my bag right now.

I've played wooden, flexible,  novelty, magnetic, and plastic (there's easily a dozen different styles of those alone)

My favorite driver tee though is the-  martini top type of tee (say that real fast five times!) It just easy to set, and easy to find after too. Secondly would be the extra tall wooden tees with the 3 lines.

My least favorite has been the magnetic ones. They are extremely hard to set, and a pita to remove. I've broken 2, lost 1 that launched out of the ground. no height adjustability without risking damaging your club. The base is a very hard plastic.

I also have a box of 3/4" stubby tees for woods/hybrids/par 3's.  Of course like most others, I pick up my wooden tees that break in half and have a crap ton of those too.

I only use wood tees for a couple of reasons. First, I remember the plastic ones (back in the day) would leave streaks or marks on the bottom of the club which was a pain to wipe off.  Second, and perhaps more importantly, if I lose a tee I don’t want to litter the course with plastic.

Plastic all the way. They last forever.

Par 3s I'm always using a broken wood tee though. Just something I've always done.

For tee shots, I play the martini tees. They are the perfect height and rarely break (I did break one last year).

I also use the Callaway plastic tees, but find the rubber that holds the ball tends to come off a ton.

For Par 3's, I will use plastic or wood (or a broken tee I find on the tee box LOL)

Good point @Hacker60521... never thought of it that way. I use plastic Tour Tees, both tall for drives and shorties for par 3's. Thankfully, I find them 99% of the time, have really only lost a handful. I use the Tour Tees with the smaller cups, I've seen them with a huge cup in the past and am not a fan of those. Not sure if it's a real thing or just in my head, but I feel like the larger cup tee holds the ball? Gotta be in my head, for sure.

Been using wood/bamboo tees, with same thinking as @Hacker60521. Recently been using Tempy's tees where they have deals from time to time. Got 100 tees for price of shipping couple months ago.

I use a plastic tee with a tripod type holder for the ball.  Rarely do I break them.  I will use a broken tee on par threes or if I am not teeing up with my driver.  I cannot remember the last time I bought tees as I find more than I lose or break.

I've have some of those that have 3 prongs and 4 prongs.

Does anyone use the anti-slice tees? I've tried them and can't seem to keep the ball steady on them.

I go plastic with the driver, and wood for anything less than driver because I WILL break it. sometimes Ill break the tip off my plastic tee if the ground is particularly hard, so Ill keep them and use those in place of wood tees in a pinch.

Im frugal, what can I say 🤷‍♂️

Probably just in the head -- but it's in my head too. I can't hit from the oversized cup tees for the same reason ... subconsciously, I think my body feels like it has to scoop the ball out of the tee. It's not a great thing to think about for drives.

I used plastic tees for the longest time but recently switch back to wood the past 2 seasons. I’ll keep a plastic one in my pocket as a back up if I break the wooden ones and forget to replenish or use it to fix divots if I forgot my tool. For par 3’s or woods/hybrids I have a weird superstition to always pick up a broken tee on the tee box that has color. The brighter the better.

I've taken about a dozen plastic ones ive found and shaved them down to 1" stubby tees too. What can I say, I'm not one to pass up a free tee! ( Aka, I am a CAPP!)

I like the plastic tees. I find that they don’t leave marks on the dark colored wood heads and last forever. I used to use white wood tees but they make a mess on equipment. Natural wood colored tees are harder to find once they flip out of the ground.
I use the tall tees and the shorties. Luckily I find a few shorties every time I play. The shorties can be wood or plastic.

I use whatever tees I find. I haven't bought tees in years and when I'm at the range will pick up the unbroken or plastic tees and throw them in the bag. I prefer the white wood tees but will use any of them.

Par 3s I recycle a broken tee.

The MyGolfSpy tees I had were amazing. Great wood tees, but last year I finally ended up breaking all of them and had to be some.

I've been using Brush-Ts for a long time, even before my prolonged hiatus. They don't break, reduce friction and give you a consistent height. I use yellow or orange for the driver, blue or black for fairway woods. I still have wood tees for iron shots, which I tee quite close to the ground. The only thing I don't like about them is if I don't put them back in their bullet-shaped container, the bristles tend to get out of position and thus don't support the ball properly, but the way to fix that is to use the bullet shaped container.

I typically use wood tees on the course just for the cheapness factor but at the range I use my roped magnetic ones cause i hate chasing tees around and i dont want to have to hold up the range cleaning up all the tees or pieces if i break them

Been playing for about 2 years in total. Winter breaks and a 6month period when I got sick. Starting to feel like myself again and recently played a “okay” round.
I currently have custom fit Cobra LTDx irons/wedges, a Vokey 60(cause my short game has been the best part of my game, and a Maverick 9 deg. Driver. Driving is the worst part of my game so My 4 iron usually takes alot of the long game abuse.

I've taken about a dozen plastic ones ive found and shaved them down to 1" stubby tees too. What can I say, I'm not one to pass up a free tee! ( Aka, I am a CAPP!)

Agreed i have a few plastic tees kicking around in my bag cause hey they were free but usually they just sit in the bag. I want to make a display of all of the charity/tournament/ meaningful tees.

Just the standard wood tees. Not a fan of plastic tees.

Tried plastic and I hate them. With very little exception. Typically buy bamboo now when possible. But wooden tees only in my bag, please.

I've never seen these. They are interesting looking.  Any issues with marring the club faces?

Which ones are you using? The ones I got were a great novelty in the beginning for me, but that wore off after a snapped the ropes on a few.
