No putts made....discombobulated round.  Had to start on the back - spraying the fairways again - clover in the rough is impossible.   Three nincompoops on the front when I got done on the back....had to wait.  Technically, I should have had the right of way when they opened up the front....but these three went off in front of me and never let me play through, even though I was a single in a cart.  Jumped to 5 after they teed off on the par 3 third hole, had to double back and play 3 and 4 to finish up.   My mindset was gone at that point.

So my course handicap is actually PLUS one on this course so making sure I get this input correctly. First full round with my Axiom graphite shafts and they were great even though I hadn't played golf in 2 weeks.

Course is a par 70. Rated 67.6/111. I shot 70 so technically a 1 differential, or a net one over par.

Played really well to my standards as I drove the ball great distance wise only hit 5 fairways and lost a couple drives just because the course has some high rough areas. Course is definitely one of the worst around but is a decent budget play, greens are super slow and I putted about my average with 35 putts. Did really well putting on the front but had 4 3 putts on the back ruining two good scoring opportunities as I had an eagle that turned into a bogey and a birdie that turned into a birdie. I’ve been struggling with my irons lately on full swings with low right shots so I only used half swings with irons and that helped me atleast stay straighter on the course. Only hit 4 greens in regulation which is in my opinion the weakest part of my game but that’s 4 more than I hit last time I played. Overall getting some confidence back!

Best score is 87 and trying to improve currently carrying a Titelist TSR2 driver, TM 3w, 3h, 4-aw irons, 54 & 58 TM wedges, with a TM spider putter.

What a day!! Fubar'd the last hole with a double and still tied my personal best.

38 front 40 back; 32 putts; 61% GIR 57% FIR

Star shot of the day was a 178 yard dunk for Eagle on 14, I heard the flag stick but assumed it ricocheted off the green. Seeing that ball in the bottom of the cup was the closest I ever had to that hole in one feeling... I assume. Frustration of the round was par 3's, bogeyed every one. Made some nice par saves and my irons felt great. Good times with my son-in-law, just getting into golf, and some good buddies.

Thanks. If you take just my last 8 rounds it averages at a handicap of 12. My problem is that I can have an absolutely fantastic round like that one but then my next couple I can be shooting in the high 80s/low 90s. If I could manage to sort my consistency out then my handicap would come right down. At the moment my England Golf handicap has me at 15.2

A follow up from last week, this might be the weirdest round I've ever had. I played up a tee box because wanted to get more comfortable with scoring. We'll certainly had opportunities, probably the most birdies i have ever had in a round. Speaking of does the birdie every hole at your home course thread still exist?

My 3 front 9 bogeys i tried getting cute with wedges shots inside 100 and missed the greens. My double, i s-worded a chip which led to an extreme short sided chip. My double on 10 i got cart path love on my tee ball past a 310 yard hole and was stuck behind a tree. 14 missed the green short from 100 and 15 i was on in 2 and blew a 30 foot eagle putt way past and settled for a 3-putt par. 17 was awful, toe s-worded my driver and 3 putted. As JT said in an interview even if we shoot in the 50s we are golfers we will always find where we could of made up strokes. All in all happy with the positive parts of the round, i mean 4 under through 6 holes is a big step for me.Screenshot_20240702_144411_Chrome.jpg.90d933e69a3cf54b07943c9d4c2b6e96.jpg

After 4-6 inches of rain this past weekend, our men's league got out, be it cart path only.  One advantage of living on a limestone/coral island is that heavy rain can dissipate pretty quickly.  It either runs off into the ocean or soaks through the ground.

I had not best front and a good back today.  The 44 on the front was followed up by a 38 on the back.  I was one over for the back nine heading into 17 (short par 4) and 18 (long par 5).   I bogeyed both, thinking too far ahead of myself.

image.png.b7b49b1a4371d974b9c110f1fe416023.png

Two of my three missed fairways were on the first two holes.   On the plus side, on the first hole, my miss was close to the cart path so very little walking!  The 17% greens in regulation was one better than usual.  I'm showing a positive trend in that area.   The five up and downs for pars was a good outing and another 3 up and downs for bogeys (which could have been worse).  My total putts were up a little from a pure number perspective, but I felt I actually putted pretty well.  I had several long two putts where my first was within a few feet and others where I left myself 6-10 ft. recoveries from a marginal lag putt.

Overall, a fair start to the week!

shot really well except for my 60' chip shots.  Had 2 go around 80' and cost me a couple strokes.

Whew! Legs are hurting!! I played this course because it's 'just down the street' from my new residence.

Course is in good condition...considering we're below average on rainfall for the year. Greens are receptive for a well-struck approach....and even for approaches that had 'no business' of sticking.

Did I mention that my legs hurt? Yeah....every hole felt like an uphill slog....because it is!! I would HIGHLY suggest a cart.

My score? Meh. I played with a HS golf coach & one of his players. Of course, Coach didn't say a darn-thing to me until hole 15....and then I played much better for the last 3 holes 🤦‍♂️

I played amazing this evening. This is a personal best. I parred 2 holes, bogeyed 1, and double bogeys on all the rest. No penalties and no blow up holes. Plenty of areas for continued improvement. Keep building on the progress, gaining consistency, and reducing mistakes.

Bad course for a bad day off the tee. Course is plenty long and fairly narrow. Everything other than driver felt pretty good. Short game and recovery game were solid. With the number of wayward drives and missed greens, it at least prevented a huge score.

Really fun course and the designer knew exactly where to place the hazards so it's a mental grind making sure you are hitting the right club and shots. ame is in a much better spot than last time I played so still 11 shots better than my previous round out there from last year.

No Shotscope for round. Will try to manually update.

43/48

started the front nine with 4 straight pars and nearly lagged in a 52’ putt for birdie. (No idea why this is posting upside down)🙃
IMG_0777.jpeg.de13e4c054f0d38873998d3a3b67cae6.jpegBack nine had a hell of a sand save on a par three to three feet. Then missed a 3’ par, then made a 3’ birdie on next hole which was a par three. Hit a soft 7i into it.

IMG_0778.jpeg.48b3fd0be974d5e9616906e7cde22543.jpegIMG_0780.jpeg.d956967890947104fc4660c46bb82a51.jpegIMG_0781.jpeg.71ff4206f4fe422347f5345414883189.jpeg

Then ob drive and a 7 on a par 4. Then a hell of an out with my 5i to 80 yards. Got on in reg and made an 18’ for birdie. Then a 9 on next hole as I hit into water twice. Old have played save and chipped closer instead of trying to go over tree. Then the drop was on an angled low and I had a terrible miss hit. Hence 2x water. Overall a fun round. I know I am soon due to break though into the low 80s, especially if I can figure out my tee game which cost me a lot today. Basically, if I make the double bogies or more out to just bogies and the 3' par I missed, that is 12 strokes that brings me down to 79. I can do this!

Edit: looked at my scorecard more. Only 30 putts (no three putts, had a few putts from the fringe) this round with just barely missing on putts of 52', 20', 13' x2 and hitting putts of 18' (birdie), 11' (par).

IMG_1458.jpg.f0dfcf9ea51923ef3ac6180f5abb0daf.jpgBeautiful but wet morning on the golf course.  I was the 3rd player off the first tee this morning with our usual speed goat and a friend heading out first in a cart and then I followed them playing alone walking.  About the time this shot was taken (4th hole), I was a hole behind them and a 1 1/2 holes ahead of the group behind. I had to move balls out of casual water in the fairway several times but the course is draining well.  3 hour 10 minute round, just walking along in no hurry.

Putting was good today even if I didn't make much of anything.  Ran many putts just by the hole or lipping out.  Missed all my birdie putts, with 1 stopping dead in the heart but 2 inches short.  All of my four 1 putts were inside the leather, with 33 total putts and one 3 jerk due to slow wet green on No. 2.

Longest drive was 265, wind aided and practically no roll.

As you can see, it was a tough day at the office. The difficult first hole started off with a bogey. Then a series of bogeys, double bogeys. One lone par on number 8 was a bright spot. The back 9 was a little better. A couple of bogeys, a double bogey here or there, mixed in with 3 pars. The best part was beating my partner, who usually shoots in the 80's. I'll take the win anytime.

The weather was pretty warm down here today. Heat index was close to 100 when we finished. It was really humid while playing.  We even had a little rain shower come in on #4. I had a pretty good round today. Shot +1 on the front ,and not quite as good on the back. I had a couple of double bogeys on the backside. I did have 3 birdies today

Round moved along nicely this morning despite wind and light rain.  Not the best day with driver — long drive was only 212 but 50% fairways.  Good day scrambling and two birdies (one a blind chip in).  Good way to start the festivities for the 4th!
