Velcro-free Headcovers

Most higher end putters have velcro headcover, but some like this new patent filed by Bettinardi, do not. I have also seen magnetic putters from Odyssey. I think it is a great idea. I was always worried when I got my Cameron that the headcover would scratch the putter. No actual evidence of it, but maybe this could supply a little peace of mind.

Bettinardi uses Belding for his covers and they use his patent for all their new headcovers where he gets a royalty for all those sold. And now that AM&E is no longer taking on new accounts it is a great opportunity for Belding to make a name for themselves with these new covers. AM&E cornered the market on high-end covers for years.

I like the magnetic ones. They close on their own, and you can toss the cover on the edge of the green and use the magnet to pick it up with the putter head, thereby not having to bend over to pick it up.

I love my Odyssey magnetic head cover... I just throw the cover on and is snaps itself shut...

On a similar note, I also like the spring loaded headcovers that Adams uses for their hybrids... at least the one I have...

So, is this a slip-on cover then? I'd rather have the velcro or magnetic.

It's slip on. but the springs force it to stay closed all the time... kinda hard to explain, but here is the one I have...

Good topic jamo.

I like the new AM&E snap fits a bunch although they are not the only magnetics in town. Betti does a great job of making interesting covers though.

Here is the gripmaster cover I won a while back. Ostrich skin with magnetic closure

Thanks mudfish, that helps. If it has the spring or a magnet then I'm all over that. I just don't like regular slip covers because they have a tendency to fall off if you carry. I have that type of cover on my Ping G2 and it drives me nuts!

Wow, the ostrich is really different. Love the look of that cover. But did it have to be yellow?!# :)

Ew, Ostrich, not my favorite animal. The snaps look like they would be good, but the convenience of velcro, for me, it that if you leave it just a touch loose, you can slip it on and opp, same way with velcro. With magnets it is even easier. I even payed $30 to get a magnetic replacement Taylor Made headcover for my Superquad, and I'll never go back.

No snaps, all magnetic.

The silver disc is a ball marker held on by a magnet too.

I was a little afraid of what I might have been looking at on first glance.

Rightfully so. It is a weird skin texture. Not sure if I am keeping it or not...
