Hey guys,

Thought this would be a neat idea.

Set up a Google map where you can pin yourself (city/state no addresses) sorry, Google login required.

Thinking this would help us find more forum members that might be right around the corner and we never knew it.

Might be able to use it to also set up future large group events for weekend getaways.

Never created one before and hopefully I set it up correctly, if not I'll tweak it till it works.

Search to add a place

In addition to simply drawing placemarks, you may also want to search for a specific place, like a restaurant, hotel, or museum to add to your map.

To search for and add places:

1. Open a new or existing map in My Maps.
2. In the left panel, click the layer you want to use. The selected layer will be blue on the left edge.
3. Search for the business, address, or point of interest that you want to add. A new, non-permanent layer entitled “Search: your search term” will automatically appear in the left panel and your results will show as green pins on the map.
4. To add that pin to your layers, click the result. Then click Add to map.
