... For me at least there is no EDIT tab. It is now up top and I have to access it now. Since my posts tend to not be short  I usually have several spelling errors and sometimes don't catch them till later. I used to just click the EDIT tab and now I have to go up top to ... and scroll to edit. Not like that is a problem, just more of an adjustment.

If you click on the dot (or star, if you've posted) to the left of the title, it will take you to the first unread post.

I am guessing that 117.5mph clubhead speed with a launch angle of 14.1° and 3000 backspin is no good.  Saw a bunch of 3000+ backspin and a few 4000rpm... carry is no good.  DSG has the efficiency set to 1.36 for the driver, I tested it because I swung at 70mph once and it didn’t move.

 

How in the world do I tame that spin?!?!

Sounds like the speed is paying off so that's a nice problem to have. A number of things you can change, and you might need to combine them to really get the spin down. The hitting more up on the ball, shaft specs, driver loft, and of course a new LST or Sub Zero or similar type of head that produces a lower spin from the start. As is said many times on this site might be time for a fitting.

I am hitting up as far as I can tell.  The Flightscope was not set up for any club data.  I had a few 16 and 18° launch with the SIM Max 10.5 and the Mavrik 10.5, both stiff shafts.  Longest was 291 with roll, but with the 1.36 built in... it was deep.

I do plan on a fitting, but dang... I didn’t realize the trade off for speed and spin with driver was that much.

speed opens all sorts of cans of worms. 

i was squaring up drives at my last fitting and they were still spinning 3500+ with 320 carry. 

next session we’re taking the driver loft down to 7.5* maybe look at a lower loft head to kill some spin?

ita definitely a good problem to have though

Yeah it is a lot for sure and the spin from the mevo could be a bit off. Also with that speed I would imagine you need at least and X flex, likely less loft amd a new head type. It does seem like your up with a launch of 16 to 18 though.

I hope to have a small scale speed problem in the spring. Good luck with your future fittings getting that spin down.

I have a X in the PXG, but I am seeing some ballooning now... it’s at 9° currently and goes a mile high.

Middle mostly, a few toe. A heel from time to time, but it moves ever so slightly up and down the middle.

Note: Focus on ball speed if the clubhead speed is only calculated and not actual. 

AVX golf ball will lower spin

Lower loft will lower spin

More weight forward in the head will lower spin

A 10.5 deg TM Sim Max is not a low spin setup. 

9.0 deg Ping LST, 9.0 deg Callaway Sub Zero are low spin setups. 

From what I can tell, tour pros who hit up on the ball play 9.0ish lofts. If they hit slightly down then they use 10.5ish - this is not a fact, just what I observed and could be totally wrong. 

Additionally, below center impacts are higher spin than above center strikes that are lower spin due to gear effect.
