Love the 'clouds' pic - very cool. Hope you brought your clubs - King Island is just a short hop away. Then of course there's Barnboogle just a little further south!

It's not bad but I hate the auto cruise and there's no way of turning it off. It seems to pick up cars in the other lane and slows me down even though there's nothing in front of me.

Hah!  I've been to your Woolworths, but not the fish markets. My daughter and her husband generally go out on their boat to catch Tuna along with diving for Abalone (in season) so no need to hit the fish markets. Also when she comes up here she brings loads of anzac cookies.

Oh and remember courses do have rental clubs - we always rented when we played in Tassie.

Another busy day. We caught the train into the city and took a ferry across the harbour to Manly. We walked down to the beach and had fish and chips, with chiko rolls and dim sims.









Saw some wild cockatoos there as well.



Then we went to the Sydney Opera House (where I proposed to my wife 19 years ago).





We saw this fella laying on the steps from the water.

We just finished hosting the 3 day Linger Longer men’s collegiate golf tournament.  U of Alabama won with a -40,  Virginia at -29 and UGA at -26.

Overall honors went to Alabama’s Jonathan Griz who won his first college tournament at -15.  Also participating was 6’ 9” Christo Lamprecht from Ga Tech and South Africa, and current #1 ranked on the PGA Tour University rankings, and either #1 or #2 on the World Amateur rankings.

Yesterday I took the Minister and my son on a tour of where I used to live because it was raining on and off. Some of the places look exactly the same and some have changed, one not for the better.

We ended the day having a late lunch of a meat pie...it was delicious!

Great pictures! FYI, my wife did the bridge climb many years ago. Also at the time I was working for a construction materials company and got to climb the 'sails' on the opera house.

Connor and I met my uncle in the city yesterday and we walked around looking at all of the older buildings and telling Connor about the history.

I was the head bouncer at this pub in the early 90's.

State (NSW) parliament house. Where the politicians screw up good ideas.

Today we went out to Sydney Olympic Park to the Royal Easter Show. That's like our version of a state fair and it's pretty big.



Each district in the state makes these displays out of what they farm. So fruits, veggies, seeds, grains, wool etc.









Then we headed over to the wood chopping to check that out.



Connor and I went in to see some of the farm animals, that we were allowed to feed.





They also have what we call show bags, which is the highlight of any kids trip to the show. They have candy bags and other bags that just have a bunch of crap in them, but no one cares.

It was a joke... sort of.  Was introduced to HP a couple years ago in England,  was good on a full breakfast, fries, and some other stuff. Brought a bottle home and nobody but me liked it...

Sand greens ?!?!

Anyone ever play on greens made of sand?

Today was a bit different. We went to Bunnings, which is the largest hardware chain in Australia. I had to get a new screwdriver to match the set I have and they are Australian made, so I can only get them here.

At almost every Bunnings on a Saturday, they have a thing called a sausage sizzle to raise money for a local charity or a local sports team.

A sausage sizzle is an Australian beef sausage with grilled onions on a piece of white bread and tomato sauce (ketchup). They used to be a "gold coin donation" so a $1 or $2 coin but they're $3.50 now.

I want to preface this with a little backstory. A guy I play PGA2K23 with on PlayStation that I had met on reddit a while ago, started playing golf again last month after 15 years. He was searching for irons and he had no clue what to buy in his price range. After talking, he stated that he was never good at hitting irons, and always used woods and wedges. I thought that was interesting so I guided him over to the Cleveland Halo Launcher XL irons, and he got them yesterday, used them for the first time today. I felt good to be able to help him, below are just a couple of cool discord messages between us about it.

@StrokerAce I know sand greens are the norm for a lot of courses out west in Kansas. Jordy Nelson hosted a golf tournament on his home course that has sand greens.

I’ve never played on them myself.

@Michael.Sandoval33 that’s awesome! PGA2k23 is a lot of fun, I always end up playing that instead of getting into a new game.

I have tried tons of other games, even have an Xbox with game pass on it. There is nothing better than PGA and I always go back. Shaping different shots, trying different conditions, never gets old.

Another day another bit of travel.

Today we went out to Bathurst, home of one of the best road tracks in the world and also where one of my cousins lives.



We had a barbie, drank some beers and had a good time.



Looks like someone is a bit grumpy in the front.

One the way home we stopped by the 3 Sisters rock formation in the Blue Mountains.

I bought them on Wednesday and they were showing as "shipped" but USPS said that the label had just been printed.
