Shankster
That's nuts.... hopefully the local authorities crack down on that before someone is hurt. On a somewhat related note, I was in San Antonio last week and they have those Uber-like scooters that you can leave anywhere and apparently you don't need to know how to operate them. Imbeciles riding at top speed (15?) on the sidewalk almost ran me over. At least 5 deaths every winter. Someone already hit a pedestrian this year and killed them. It’s getting real bad. The town goes from a nice quaint little place to snowmobile hell. There’s other people trying to enjoy the outdoors without a fart can attached to an engine. Stay on your designated trails!!! Yes, not all are bad, and I used to enjoy them myself. But the uneducated people drive me nuts... no need to be going 60mph in town. In the summertime we have the lake version of those called Jet Skis or PWC's. According to the law you have to be at least 16 and passed a written boating test. I often see preteens driving these things at 50-60 mph. Shame on the grandparents and parents that allow this. robertson153
I’m on-call this weekend and this morning while checking on our pump stations, work in water distribution, one of them is losing 100,000 gallons. You would figure it would be easy to find, wrong. Been looking all morning for about 6 hours and finally give up. Shankster
Can't you do the starter yourself? Would you take it to an independent shop instead of a stealership?100% could if it is a certain engine year. I haven’t looked yet because of the temps. Some of the Toyota’s have the starter under the intake manifold. I don’t have the time to take the top of the engine apart. The other model it is blocked by the exhaust manifold, another hurdle. Not as easy as a Chevy.I’ll be out messing with it today to locate the starter and update as I begin this project. perseveringgolfer
someone ran into the front of my car while it was parked in an outdoor car park. I've now had 7hrs of tel calls between insurers, underwriters, car hire people, body shop repairer, the other parties insurer, plus having to take pictures of the damage, pictures of every angle of my car, pictures of the dashboard and mileage, vin numbers, pictures of the back and sides of my car, upload it all to their website, fend of their service provider etc all for something not my fault Now I'll be without my car for about 2 weeks and have to use the one the rental provider will give me, which won't be anywhere near the same as mine. On the bright side at least the other party waited for me to return to my car and admitted liability. I had similar 10 yrs ago and they fled the scene leaving me to foot the huge bodywork bill. Happy Monday At least they are taking responsibility. I had someone hit my parked car so badly a couple of years ago, it was a total loss. Their insurance company then refused responsibility because it happened on private property (grocery store parking lot). My insurance company chose not to fight and paid for the damage to my own vehicle. The following year, my insurance policy wen't up several hundred dollars per year as a result! Edit to add: Sorry this happened. It is a pain in the ass and can be ridiculously inconvenient. TSauer
USPS stated my package from the MGS Trickshot challenge was delivered to a parcel locker Thursday and the key was in my PO box. I was excited to go pick these up, but unfortunately, there wasn't a key in the locker when I got there. They're always closed by the time I get home from work, so I'm not sure what's going on with that package. They either forgot to put the key in my box, or put the key in someone else's box and they were able to get to the package. Hopefully they have it there tomorrow morning when I go there. MattF
What a night! Got a call from my wife when I was unloading a truck at Lowes last night to say her car had just quit and wouldn't start, just a click. So, being a good husband, I called the manager and said I had to bail because my wife was stranded, made my apologies to my team and bailed. Got to where she was and jumped the car, all good. Followed her home and when she was backing into the driveway noticed her headlights getting dimmer and the car quit again...oh well, at least we're home. I took the battery out of the car and went to Walmart to have it tested and possibly replaced because I bought it in November last year. Well, it was so low it wouldn't test. They said they'd put it on the charger over night and test it in the morning at 7. Great! Get into my truck, turned the key and nothing. Oh come on! I replaced the battery in mine last week. The battery has good power so I think it's either the starter solenoid, which you can't replace separate from the starter, or the ignition switch. Fortunately my neighbour is one of the best and he came and got me, brought me home, helped my get Chanin's car into the garage and drive me to my in-laws to get my MIL's car. Went down to Walmart this morning and the battery has a bad cell, so they replaced it for free. Chucked it in the car, cranked straight away, tested the alternator and it's good, so I got out of that one cheap. Now my tame mechanic is going to come to look at the truck but I'm thinking I'm up for a new starter. fozcycle, PMookie, bens197 and 1 other 4 Quote In the bag: Driver: Darkspeed X 9° UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X Blue 7F4 Fairway: Apex UW 19° & 21° Project X HZRDUS Smoke RDX Black 5.5 Irons: JPX 923 HMP 5-PW UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Wedges: T-22 Denim Copper 48°, 52° & 56° UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Putter Sycamore 005 Wide Blade Bag: Fairway 14 stand bag Balls: Chrome Tour X Cart: CaddyLite ONE Ver.
