A happy and reflective post here.Stayed up late last night looking at all pictures of Christmas's past.Looking at those priceless memories of relatives and friends no longer with us.Pretty tearful but the smiles and joy will always remain in those pictures and my memories.It really helped me enjoy the Christmas Day festivities even more.Enjoy what times we have here.They go by so fast

We had a great Christmas. While we do have a small family everyone was there either in person (my two sons + 1's fiancé) or on video . My daughter and her husband couldn't make it in person (they live in Australia) however, we had a great family Skype video call. Don't know what I'd do without Skype video.

Face Time & Skype are great tools. FT is how we keep in touch with our kids and Gkids in CT. We would be miserable without it.

I'm happy that we made it home today from a 300 mile drive through Portland Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge.  Everyone on the road was reasonably sane, but there was really no other way to be on the stretch from Troutdale to Hood River.  For about 50 miles Interstate-5 was bumper to bumper 25-30 mph... a little snow and chunks of ice on top of black ice.  I just stuck my nose behind an 18-wheeler and followed.  After Hood River the road was reasonably dry and the next 140 miles seemed to fly by.

I'm happy with all the kind fellas in this forum, my family is happy and healthy, and I have a job to get all the bills paid.

 

This time last year, my fiancé and I were struggling to get bills paid and at each other's throats because of it. A year later and we're happy as ever, have our wedding date set, and aren't struggling to get the bills paid.

Chanin is going to a concert at Northfield Racino tonight to see Brett Michaels. Her mother got her the tickets for 2 and the person she was going to go with is sick as a dog. OK, backup person was getting sick yesterday and I said this morning, jokingly "You didn't ask me if I wanted to go". She asked do you? To which I replied, not really, but I'd go to see that you had a good time and enjoyed yourself.

 

Well, backup is even sicker and what I said apparently meant a lot to Chanin so I am now going to endure Brett Michaels for a couple of hours...and perv on the assortment of old ducks that will be there.
