What type of strangers do you like to get hooked up with?

I've always been nervous about golfing with strangers. I've been slowly coming out of my shell. I just get so nervous that I'm going to screw up. It never occurs to me that I'm not on the PGA tour and that I'm out having fun.

 

So this year when I'm on course by myself I've actually joined other singles and realized that my game isn't terrible and I can hang around with them

That's great. You will meet a lot of really nice people, a couple of jerks too but the good outweighs the bad by a wide margin.

Laid back-some conversation, but don't talk my ear off

Doesn't offer me golf lessons/advice

I'm a walker so I like getting paired with others that like to walk. Also like when I am paired with someone that can leave their cell phone in their bag. No calls, no music.

 

Biggest thing is someone I can hold a conversation with for 4 hours. Blowhards that talk about themselves the entire time without taking the slightest interest in learning about anyone else in the foursome are brutal.

 

As for skill level, I don't care at all. Shoot 120, just do it quickly by playing ready golf.

Yeah, I feel like they might be thinking I'm gonna hold them up. But as they drive on the path then back and forth across the fairway to each other's ball, I go directly to mine and am ready to swing when it's my turn.

I also go out fairly early so usually they're able to all have their own cart. Last couple months I stopped rushing because they usually took one more stroke than me to get on so just walked down the side of the hole to stay out of their peripheral vision

Really depends on the mood.. Most of the time I enjoy the laid back golfer who enjoys listening to some music while throwing some money on a match between us.
