Unofficial Winn Dri-tac lite.

I just purchased and installed one of these for my driver. The reason is that I cut 1.5" off the stock alta cb shaft that came in my ping G400 Max. I was tired of choking down and figured I'd just cut it down.

 

Well, as many of you know, the swing weight went way down. It dropped to a C5. Which was fun, but I'd lose the club head in the swing and missed a lot of fairways. Replacing the regular Winn Dri-tac I was using with this lite version on my driver moved the swing weight back up to D4.

 

One range session and the swing weight difference was very noticeable. Took it out to the course and only missed 1 fairway(only played 9) the first time out.

 

So, that's why I got one. As for the grip itself, if you have ever used or held a dri-tac, this feels about the same. A little firmer, which I think is nice, but with the same great tacky feel. I wouldn't put these on any other clubs in my bag as I don't want to mess with their swing weights. But if any of you have cut some off your driver, or are thinking about it and don't want to use another method to fixing the swing weight, I highly recommend these grips.

 

I have been playing 3-4 days a week, so I'll update in a month with how it is doing on wear.

Interesting it made that much of a difference .. even though the club is overall a bit lighter with the lighter grip. I understand SW it's "relative" and not an absolute measure. But hey sounds like it's working out!
