After a 2 day hiatus, I put the F8's back in the bag. Cart path only shot 40/44:84 today with one birdie, 8 pars, 5 bogeys & 4 doubles. I got tired with Cart path only and was even on a he back after 4 holes, then put 4 doubles on the card finishing with a par.

Got my prize in the mail the other day and Stud warned me Cobra might play a joke on me because I wear 3xl, can't always find them in certain stores. Got the shirt and hat in and eh pink not my color but I can wear it, grey hat got me happy. Sorry cobra my hats have bends in em and I think all hats should, hate the look of hats without bends. Also last weekend, I got to go play golf and relax... I had a blast not trying to be perfect, and I still shot a 82... With a 303 yd. drive leaving me a 4 Hybrid in from 181 uphill blind. To the back of the green and a nice easy 2 putt Birdie... You're going to love those clubs... I'm just saying..

Performance

Performance at the Range

• Accuracy – These clubs took a little getting used to as they were going more fade biased  than my previous clubs.
• Distance – The F8's were great distance wise. The Irons were a touch longer, the Hybrids, 3 wd, and Driver were Longer by about 10-15yds.
• Trajectory Characteristics – I had no problems getting these to launch high enough to stop even mid-irons on the green with minimal roll-out.
• Forgiveness – As you noticed I had some amazing stats as far as driving accuracy and I did not hit them all perfect but was able to find Fairways and green regularly.
• Control – The clubs did everything I needed sometimes better than I had hoped..

 

Range Score: (8 of 10 points)

 

Performance on the Course

• The on course performance of these clubs was outstanding, for me the biggest knock was the distance on the wedges was not matching the gaping. I had a bigger gap between the wedges then with the other irons. Which I had to adjust for but nothing to dramatic… these clubs hit fairways and greens like nobody's business.
• Also Noticed with most of the testers was a draw ball flight, I had to adjust both the Driver and 3 wd into standard setting as to keep from over hooking the ball. The irons (which I typically have a slight fade ball flight with) also had a draw bias to them which took some getting used to but in a good way.

Course Score: (38 of 40 points)

Looks

The Cobra F8's are very sexy looking. I found less wear than some of the other testers, Foz in think just flat out wore his irons out… The Nardo grey and Black (on the Driver, 3 wd, and Hybrids) was very pleasant to look at it framed ball nicely. I went with the grey grips which I think was a great combo..

Sound and Feel

• Now this is where the F8 driver separates itself, it does not have the loud “Crack” that we all are so used to hearing from a driver. It has a more solid sound that is very nice and pleasant. The sound does change slightly across the face but center strikes have a great sound and feel. All the clubs had great feel but the 3 wd and the Hybrids just screamed smack the crap out of the ball. The feel was incredible.

Likelihood of Purchase

Likelihood of purchase? Is huge, since I already have a couple of people asking if I decide to stick with my old clubs can they get these. I would not have looked too hard at the Cobra's in the store prior to this test (being honest). But NOW I would recommend to anyone to look at the Cobra F8 line, these clubs are such and dream to play with..

Conclusion

These clubs are simply fantastic. During this summer I put together my 2 best rounds ever. One was while I established my baseline handicaps; a 79 first time breaking 80 with my old clubs. The second time was perfect timing I posted a 78 for the best Round challenge using the Cobra F8's. My starting handicap (through Arccos) was 19, Driving hdcp 21.8, approach 20, chipping 27.4, and sand 14.4.. To finish the challenge I dropped to a 12.4, driving dropped to a 14.8, approach 15.1, Chipping 20.1, and Sand 7.1. WOW.. I dropped 6.6 points on my handicap, I since have dropped it again to a 11.8..

Are the Cobra F8 clubs for you? Maybe, maybe not. But they sure as hell are for me… Give them a try you might be surprised just like me..
