Morning all! Still working nights so im slow to rise in the mornings.  Just having my first cup of coffee out on the back deck.  Beautiful out right now but I know the mugginess will return.  I hope its a great day for everyone!

Good Morning Spies, 

Beautiful & Hot Central Florida morning.  Already 81 degrees and on 2nd cup of coffee.  
Yesterday was a tough day for our family, mother-in-law passed after a 6 yr battle with Alzheimers. My wife & her sisters have been her caretakers, sharing responsibilities & were absolutely amazing! Hospice provided great guidance & their people are amazing! Alzheimers is a terrible disease. We were thankful we could care for her in our home & blessed she raised great children! Today is a weird but beautiful day!

Good morning all from a FINALLY non-haze filled southwest Wisconsin sky. Air quality is at 54 currently, this time yesterday it was 264. Got to post my first score of the week for the Cobra Challenge last night as I was able to finish holes 16-18 after the kids went to bed. I got through 15 on Tuesday but had to stop as I ran out of time before my scramble league. Posted a 49 on the front and a 42 on the back for a new PB of 91. It is only fair to mark it with an asterisk as it was not consecutive 18 holes, but I am still pretty pleased nonetheless as I have never sniffed 90 before and just broke 100 for the first time a few weeks ago! It is woods and wedges this week, too, so I posted that PB with no irons. Pretty crazy to think about, but also is making me rethink my way around the course. I'll be playing another 18 on what I am assuming will be Sunday, as we are headed to the lake today after work and Saturday will be a super busy day with cookouts, boating, annual cornhole tournament and fireworks to cap the evening. We have Monday & Tuesday off, so kicking off a 4 day weekend followed by a 3 day work week and I am READY for it.

Top of the pot spies .  Heat advisory on my phone this morning and it looks like the next few days will be HOT here in AZ and many parts of the country.  No golf today but do have a 0700 time tomorrow.  I played yesterday at 0645 and it was absolutely perfect weather, nice light wind and about 91F when we finished at 1100.  My Monday group has us out at 1115 and that's going to be a test of my "lizard weather golf" tolerance.  I'll be putting the Propel electrolyte packs I just purchased into action.  Have a great Friday all!

Last day on the lake so going to make the most of my lazy day in the sun. Long drive home tomorrow and then a slow holiday week ahead. Love summer. Trying to plan ahead for golf next week. Don’t have the energy yet to think that hard, lol.

Good morning all! I’m spending the weekend at my parents lake house and hoping to make time today to play a round of golf at one of the local courses. After playing 15 rounds in 20 days I haven’t played a round all week and I’m starting to itch a bit lol. Hopefully I get a round in today, if not I will definitely have the chance to play Sunday and Monday! Have a day!

My condolences, and I’m sorry to hear of your loss. My wife and I have both lost grandparents to that particular affliction and we’re going through it currently with her grandmother. It is an awful thing to witness and live through, and I wish it upon no one. You guys will be in my thoughts.

Like so many things in life it is bittersweet when one chapter ends and another begins.  The challenges met and removed from the daily routine requiring adopting new ones.  There is always good in everything and it is wonderful to see your focus is as it should be, everyone has peace with the end of her battle and what a powerhouse of women your family has to rally around whomever needs their love.  Thankful for your sharing and the strength you convey to the community as part of what we know as your energy you contribute so often.  Have a blessed and joyful weekend with everyone my friend

Sorry to hear about your loss, @tdroma98 . My father in law has the same condition but thankfully it’s been a slow progression over the last 7 years. Counting our blessings every day he’s still with us.

So Sorry to hear about your loss- It is indeed a nasty disease. I'm happy that you had nothing but great, strong caring and loving people around you. I'm glad that y'all have the right focus and frame of mind. You'll be in my prayers

No golf for me today. Rainy day here in Eastern Iowa and unfortunately, rain tomorrow morning as well. My wedding is tomorrow, so family coming into town as well, so lots of stuff going on. Wanted to get out and play golf to keep my mind at ease. Hoping to at least get out to the range to get some work in. Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow for the big day! Have a great Friday everyone!

Congrats!  When I first read your post it sounded like you were hoping it wouldn't rain tomorrow - but I wasn't sure if it was for the wedding, a round of golf, or both .

Congratulations on becoming one of the band of brothers who have a MyGolfSpouse who is also SWMBO, not predicting anything of course and nobody is happier for you than me after 34 years with the same lovely woman.     As members of your extended family, we expect to be regaled with tales of the magnificent day and photos to further witness the joyous event as your golf community here looks forward to once again hear the exploits of your prowess on the golf course!

@tdroma98, I'm sorry to hear about your family's loss but am thankful that your wife and her siblings got to spend some time caring for your mother-in-law during the last stage of her life. I know that losing mom is one of the hardest losses in life and we'll be keeping you and your family in our thoughts.

Sorry for your loss.  I'm glad that you and your family were able to provide care for her at home.  From experience that is much better than in a facility.  Prayers going out to all of you!!

We have a Red Flag Warning starting tomorrow at 11am until 11pm; thankfully we will be close to finishing our round by the time it starts.  The warning is for high temps (100º), low humidity (13%), and high winds (15-30mph); hope nobody does anything stupid and lights off early fireworks!!

91º at 1100??  That's nothing!  It was 85º this morning at 0730.  Hasn't reached peak temp yet... 102º.

Good very late morning... well afternoon, OK.  Late to the party today! So much news to catch up on.   Ran errands while it was cool including a 2nd round of bloodwork after my new doctor appointment yesterday.  Jury is still out if I like him, but these days it's tough to "keep your doctor".    Spent the last two hours exercising and working on my swing in my new, air-conditioned hitting bay!!!  All I can say is it's better than the high heat out on the range at the course!!

Good morning spies! It's a warm 75 degree morning here in TN. I have a feeling we might get some nasty weather later, it sure hit yesterday with pouring rain and thunder. 

I'm sitting here at work getting ready to head in and start the day. At least my coffee is warm and I feel pretty rested from going to bed a little early.

I hope everyone has a great start to their Independence Day weekend. Normally we would be having our annual summer shutdown this coming week, but due to equipment installation we did it around Memorial Day.

The baby finally slept through the night again. which is a a plus because we have a 6 hour car ride that’s likely going to take 9 with all the stops. Upside is I’m officially on vacation!

Up early I think mainly because I am antsy to get to the golf course this morning . 7:10 tee time for my second round of the cobra challenge woods and wedges week. Only takes about 15 minutes to get to the course, so hoping to leave around 6:30 so that we can get there, get the cart loaded and get a few warm up swings on the range. My wife and oldest son will be joining me which I am looking forward to (thanks to my in-laws for hanging back with our youngest son while we golf). 

After that we will have a full afternoon of activities back at the lake for 4th of July, capped off by an excellent fireworks show on the lake. Should be a great day!

Good morning, Spies!

This is the last day of a very fast fly fishing trip for me and a friend to the Au Sable river in Michigan.  The fishing has been great; the catching not so much.  
 

I hope to get out for some golf this weekend somehow, but it looks iffy.  My game has sorta deserted me.  When the spring came, my short game and putting were awesome and I struggled with driver.  Now, my driver is the best of my game, and I cannot hit GIR or chip or putt worth a darn.  It’s bad.  I was hitting irons so poorly on Wednesday afternoon that I just played 5-iron or lower clubs on the back nine for practice, which helped my irons immensely but the short game is still crap.  Gotta work on that. It’s frustrating.  Dealing with some lower back pain too, which definitely does not help.   Any suggestions on how to get out of the funk?  Maybe this fishing pause will actually help.
