I use LMNT almost daily. I stay somewhat active with my job and I find myself not keeping up with my water intake. I get the chocolate flavor and put it in my coffee, Don’t knock it till try it. I then have water container and will use the lemon flavor or when I am feeling somewhat like gambling I’ll blindly grab packet from the multi flavor box. You the jalopeno for a little kick, that’s a good one for the course.

I'll have to play devils advocate here... it's an open qualifier so I think he has every right to give it a shot if he felt his game was there and he met the requirements to play in the OQ. Also, there's been additional reports that he was being heckled the whole time with large crowds and people asking for autographs during play. I would be hard pressed to say this would throw anyone off there game regardless of their skill level. It's unfortunate that he gets this much attention and pressure because at the end of the day he is still a 15 year old kid.

I have not found that I need it daily yet. Back in the day maybe when I was doing hardwood floor installs but these days my workouts just are not enough to justify that much (I know they do recommend it as a daily though for those particularly active). I really enjoy the Jocko for daily, not as much sodium.

Good Morning Spies!

The sun is shining! It is still in the 40s but will be warming today. I “might” be able to get to the range later this afternoon before class tonight. We will see. Early day tomorrow morning with band practice before a gig in the evening. Should be a fun time. Then travel early Monday through Wednesday, red-eye back home (hopefully) Wednesday. Of course, the weather will be perfect here while I am gone (grrrrr).

@GolfSpy_BEN Following your Qi10 review closely. I am curious to see, once you get out on the course, how the new stick performs compared to your current TD. Being in Ohio with you, the conditions will be similar for me. Just very curious.

Today is National Dog Biscuit Day so if you have a loved pooch, share a biscuit with them today and a pat on the head. You won’t regret it and it just might bring your blood pressure down too.

no doubt... he has every right and people can be and are brutal. just blasting him on social media. poor kid - 15 and he doesn't deserve it. If his name was Charlie Miller he'd be just another teenager and nobody would care. Apparently the PGA Tour sent a special photog to follow him and take pics..that probably didn't help much.

I do wonder if Earl would have let Eldrick do the same when he was 15. No doubt he had the game but all of the off the course stuff is ridiculous. 
Charlie, OTOH, isn't even the best player on his HS team.

Apache Wells does the 8am & 1 PM shotgun start as well. It's tailgating for golf and it's pretty cool and funny to see.

I hit one at a fitting day and compared to my sim2max.  Zero difference for me.  Fitter even said (dont spend 600.00 on this, come back in 2-3 years).  I will say it hit MUCH nicer than the first stealth.

Plan is early April - its a 40th birthday trip for me (my actual birthday is end of March), but the plan is to get on at the Old Course, so I'm trying to time it around the shoulder season (but also avoid hitting off mats).

LOL.  I was warned when I moved here about shotgun starts... and retired people in golf carts.  Our Desert Springs course manager has started playing the "Looney Tunes" tune right after the "please head out to your assigned hole" announcement.

They said had he not had two Policemen for a security detail things could have gotten out of hand. A woman actually pushed her way thru the 50 to 60 people gathered around him and physically put a hat in his hand demanding he sign it which is not allowed but regardless a 15 yr old needing a security detail is a heavy load anyway. This crowd realized there were no ropes so they just came on the course and literally stood next to him and told the marshal off and berated him when he asked them to get off the course. Along with all that Lost Lake is one of my favorite but it is super tight and has alot of layups due to sharp doglegs and is not an easy track by any means. Charlie is a +3 according to Florida High School athletics and the Tour asks that players be a +2 or better to play consistently. Kid is going to be good for sure but take a 12 on a hole and it's hard to right that ship

The time difference from home is starting to wear on me. Staying up later so that I can talk to the family and then waking up earlier to start work early is drastically reducing my usual amount of sleep. On the positive, the weather is good and I've got rounds scheduled for both days this weekend.

Good morning spies and TGIF!

It's been a long and busy week at work, so definitely looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Hitting the sim after work to get some practice in. Weather continues to be trending in the right direction and some courses are even opening this weekend. 

Can't wait to finally get outside and hit off something besides turf mats. 

Coffee has been consumed and we're off and running for the day.

Up early to get packed and time to head north. My son gets home Sunday morning from Costa Rica so I am looking forward to that. Was a nice week with my girls but it feels odd not having the boy with me for vacation. Nobody tells you how hard the lasts are with your kids.

Front 9 was great!  Putter was working today and had 3 birdies and 2 bogies.  The 2 bogies we silly mistakes.  Had to take an unplayable on one and the other I aimed too far left and caught a tree off the tee leaving a long 2nd that ended just short of the green. 

Back 9 wasn't bad but nothing special. Was hungry and feeling a little sluggish but solid day all the way around.

Good Morning everyone!  Chillin’ out here in Palm Springs.  Managed to get hooked up to the internet, so thought I’d check in.  Too many days to go back and catch up… hope I didn’t miss anything important.  Played a lot of golf; some days were not bad, others I won’t talk about!  At least the temp has been nice; sunny and high 70’s most days.  It’s just expensive to play here.  Oh well, it’s a vacation!  Not looking forward to leaving the warmth for 40-50 deg days again.  Leave on Tuesday.  My wife decided to catch a cold in this warm weather; she hasn’t had a cold in more than 10 years.  My luck I’ll catch it just before we board the plane!!!

Will catch up with you more when we get home.  Play well!!!

I had a similar experience recently. Went and hit the new Ai Smoke Max. Currently using Mavrik. After an hour in the sim and making tons of adjustments, the tech basically said the same. No reason to spend $600 for something that isn’t really an improvement. My ball speed was better with what I have now as was distance (2-3 yds.). Who knew? I did like the looks of the club and feel but not to the tune of six hundo.

I been absent a day or two from this thread but i still read it just about everyday. The week has been long but productive. Looks like spring is beginning to spring around here so I am targeting a Sunday range trip to work on some new drills. Really looking forward to an early spring and the outdoor opportunities that will bring.

Been following the F1 practice sessions, Charlie Woods (kudos to him for getting out there), and planning the purchase of my first riding mower.

One of the most unexpectedly beautiful places I've ever been. I still remember taking the tramway to the top of the mountain and going from a balmy 80 to a chilly 40 in 10 minutes. Hi guys. Just got an email from my new club in Scotland, Fortrose & Rosemarkie. When I was there on November 1, they were at the tail end of a spell of incredibly bad weather, some of which I played in. As a result they sustained significant erosion, which on a seaside course threatens the holes themselves. Holes 1 and 2, which are right up against the water, are in danger.

This is how close they've come to losing the first tee:

They have been negotiating with various government entities for assistance without success, and as a result are trying to raise 100,000 pounds for stabilization work, hoping that this will prod the Scottish governments to help.

There's a GoFundMe page for that purpose at Fortrose & Rosemarkie erosion damage.  I've made a little donation and will make more from time to time. I know I'm the only one here who really cares about this little course in Scotland, but it would be a shame to lose it. This is a flyover video in better weather:

 

Anyway, if any Spies would be interested in chipping in a little to help preserve the course, I would appreciate it and so would the club members. Right now 1 GBP = $1.26, so they're trying to raise about $126,000.

Understand; that's why I went in October. Five days later and I would have been using mats too (which would have saved me some fat shots, to be honest). If you can have a twosome (your wife would suffice, if her handicap is below 36; they WILL check) you can enter the lottery for the OC 48 hours in advance. Chances of the lottery are not great but better than zero. Or you can pay ridiculous sums to some tour operator for a guaranteed time. Or you can get in line in the wee hours as a single, which is what I did.
