Well, the wife is wanting to “do something” with me today….which is secret wife code for “not golf”. Having just received my new sticks yesterday, it is all I can do to hold back and not be annoying to her plans today. It is cool and perfectly sunny with low wind. I am cursed. All I can think about is hitting those new sticks…. I have been married for 37 years so I have some level of basic mastery in concealing my counter interests while nodding in agreement and murmuring “uh-huh”. I'm still feeling good after getting to play yesterday, I had a fun time on the course and enjoyed being out with friends. I capped the night off by going out with my wife and sister-in-law for dinner. It's a nice morning here, I'm just waking up drinking a cup of coffee with the dogs on the couch. While my foot feels pretty good this morning, the rest of my body is protesting doing something yesterday that it wasn't prepared for. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! I’m heading out the door in 15 minutes to get 18 in this morning. While at work yesterday, I had a coworker who I played a few rounds with this year, ask me if I was playing today. I told him that I planned on going out at sunrise and to my surprise he asked if he could join. He’s not a fan of the chilly temps so I was a bit surprised. He seemed pretty excited about it all but the end of the day yesterday so, I may actually have a playing partner this morning which I am looking forward to. Had a birthday party to attend later in the afternoon and evening yesterday, so today will be the first real test/playing with them. Remembered to put on the Josh Allen shirt today to match what more than half of them wear at the club. Yesterday was the most fun Veterans Day round of golf I can remember joined by my great friend John who brought along two others who quickly became preferred friends too. Partly sunny conditions that walking made not too bad at all. The last 3 holes played as carts vs carry, as Kyle and I were pushing our clubs while John and Tyler were carrying. This C130 flyover happened at the 18th tee box. It ended with a bonafide steal by the Vet (rightly they said) with Diver, duffed 3 hybrid, amazing 3 hybrid, and 9i chip in from 30 yards. I never put music on while playing, but it was a 4th hole to break the 3 hole tied up matchplay and someone said we were all on the tee box together, and a favorite from the 90s came to mind and had to be shared, maybe it had something to do with all 4 shots as I left it to play for my closer tee box drive and the rest of the hole too... Black clouds can be seen way, way to the north headed our way. The clouds are either announcing the coming of you-know-who’s oppressive totalitarian arrival or we are getting another storm. Either way, to be safe from either; might be a good idea if @Josh Parker went ahead and firmly closed the door. Concerning the weather; there will again be NO golf today. There will be a a semi- emergency meeting at the club following brunch. Seems 2 or 3 of the holes are in an ancient river bed. There is some rarely seen standing water on those holes. The meeting is about possibly adding the term “ yacht “ to the official club name. Texans are known to occasionally get ahead of themselves. Have a magnificent Sunday my friends.
