Good morning, all

Rough day on the course yesterday. It was one of those days where I could not string a series of shots together to finish a hole. I wasn't necessarily hitting bad shots but my mishits came at the worst possible times when trying to get up and down. the putter also left the chat... early... With all of that said I am still trying to figure out my AI Smoke TD. For some odd reason I developed a draw/hook miss with this club which I was not expecting with the Fade-bias that head has.

Outside of the golf updates just a normal day-to-day for me. looking forward to the weekend to get more progress made on the house projects!

@Byrnzee safe travels and enjoy your special trip! 

I have a tee time with my retired Army friends a little later this morning and just consider it a good social round as the course is fairly short, not in the best shape, and it is just an informal gathering of who shows up gets to play.

Starting to see that the temperatures will rise to the 80's again, so hope remains that we have more than a couple more months to be able to get out and golf.

Hope your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

G'morning!

I've gotten so used to remote work, that this drive on Thursdays is becoming less and less fun. We got a new hire, so I'll be training him all day and will unfortunately have to miss the community call  

Lots of golf outings in the near future; a couple of tournaments, a birthday outing, and some league nights... very much looking forward to this time of the year! 

Oh, and football is right around the corner. Can't wait!

same with OV 185 off the tee on 1, and possibly 185 off tee on 2 if you want to, you can hit driver on 2 however it is a risk/reward...

the national senior is in Port Elgin in a couple of weeks, I am not attending this year but we are sending a good team from BC. Hopefully the weather will hold for a few weeks...

It truly is the best time of the year! Hopefully slightly cooler temps all around, brisk morning golf, and you said it--football is back! The family is UNC and Broncos fans, so have had some highs and lows. UNC got off to a hot 6-0 start last year with Maye up to 10th in the rankings then just fell apart. Our QB situation is interesting now, but have a very strong run game and plenty of outside threats. I frequent the club that HOF coach Mack Brown and his wife go to every year the week before training camp starts and all he says is "we've got a plan". So we'll see! On the pro side, I have already started planning for my Bo Nix statue in the front yard. Check back in a couple months to see if it's still built

Morning Spies!

Been busy these past few weeks but have some time this morning to connect and read through the mounds of posts I have missed.

Will be playing a round with @snoopy79 on Saturday up in Springfield. Should be good weather. The mornings here are cooler and I am thinking about vacating my home for a campsite  if it lasts. Love the fall!

I have been working on my swing (continuously) to try and improve ball striking and accuracy (like everyone else). Feels like I am making some progress. We will see how Saturday ends up. Playing Windy Knoll (Slope 117 from White Tees - 5792 yds) - During my league I struggled from the White tees at Clover Valley (Slope 126, 6315 yds). So hopefully, this be more in line with where I am as far as distance. We will see.

Today is National Pecan Torte Day - honestly wouldn’t know where to find one but if I do, I’ll have some.

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Pre-Friday!!

Enjoying another cool morning here, with lots of sunshine.

Sadly, no golf will be played this weekend which also means no entry for the VCT this week. Ugh. But, with dad having COVID and not knowing until after our round this past Sunday means I have been exposed to it. So we're being cautious and not playing this weekend. Dad is recovering, although he's going a little stir crazy at home. I haven't shown any symptoms at this point, and am hoping I don't actually get it. But we'll see what happens in the next few days, while I'm hunkered down at home as well. I should probably go for a walk or something after work to get some sun, which we know is good for beating COVID.

Anyway, nothing else going on other than work. Everyone have a great Pre-Friday!!

Good morning! At work today, but I'm planning a tee time with a coworker after work. He wants to play a 4 club challenge (4 clubs + putter, so technically 5 clubs), so we'll see how that goes.

I forgot to report back on my kitchen sink drain clog issue. There is a trap built in where the drain plug is, so all I had to do is open the drain plug and make sure I had a mask on for the stench and a 5-gallon bucket for the drain contents. It's incredible how much water and debris drain pipes can hold! Then I used a small drain snake to make sure there was nothing more built up and it was done. All before I cracked open my 1st beer @taylorjonasher

Sounds like our hole 10 for my league course.  Im on the Blues this year (league rules) so I can take driver off the tee, but when on the whites its flirting with trouble if the fairways are firm.

Whites are a different story really easy to get in trouble here.  end of fairway is 240, creek carry is 280ish (potentially doable but hard).

Good morning spies!  Sorry I missed most of yesterday's forum slogging.  Worked GC, then played 18, then had a dinner date with wife . Had to drop off the foster kittens to the transport office. All 9 were adopted (even the mama!) and they will be on the way to their Fur-ever families today! (2 twins going to the same family!)

Anyway,  today is grocery day, and hopefully later catching the CC!

Not too much going on today just email reply’s and asking for status updates. Yesterday flew by with calls and that nonsense. However, I did manage to snag a beat up yet useable M3 5H for a steal on eBay. I really only wanted it for the shaft to replace the r flex in my M3 4H. My sons that golf with me will now have a 5h to whack around so everybody won yesterday! Have a great day all!

Good morning MGS Nation: Hoping everyone is well. A beautiful, low humidity, 55 degree morning here in central Maryland! Nice hot cup of ... mushroom coffee going down this morning. Interesting concept, to say the least. It's something my wife stumbled on to in her internet searches that is supposed to be much better for you and not produce the coffee/tea jitters. We shall see! 
Getting back into the swing of things slowly but surely here, both with life and golf. Had to gift myself a hat and head cover: love the rib supports on the inside of the hat from L.A.B.! Putting, indeed, doesn't have to suck! 

L.A.B. Rat headcover added to the repertoire to complete the Mamba's look! I still break out the Spider every now and again and am now completely sold on the DF3. Feeling much more confident, albeit last night league play was not the best putting performance I've had recently.  Several 3 putts, not happy with that, but overall the Mamba has performed great on recent outings. 
Hoping to get out Saturday and Sunday mornings, time to get really back into the golf routine and working on the game. 

Have a great Thursday, will try and get to the community call on my way home from work this afternoon. Hit 'em straight, fairways and greens MGS Nation!

Busy day of data analysis made less dull by having the BMW Championship on in the background.

My boss just asked me to call in to a meeting that falls right when I was planning on hitting the range to loosen up the aging body ahead of final league night scramble fun early evening. Darn it.lol. Should manage a very short swing session and some chipping practice, just juggling afternoon plans a little.

I'm hoping to free up time to join the call this afternoon

Good  (late) morning! Been a busy day thus far, and going to get really interesting this afternoon. I share an alley with the State Archaeology Office at the University of Iowa, and they have requested my assistance unloading a 13,000 mastodon skull. I have a forklift at my shop, and they've asked me to operate it and help get the skull inside from off their flatbed. I've unloaded some pretty unusual items from sketchy locations before, but I think this one probably takes the cake for most out of the ordinary. My last weird request was at the Old Capitol building when Ruth Bader Ginsberg passed away - they had a frozen pulley in the flag pole truck on the cupola and had me get up there with a 180' man lift to unfreeze it and lower it to half mast. I'll be sure to take some pictures and share them! I hope everyone has a productive Thursday - go get some and make it great! 

Also - wish me luck that they have it palletized / loaded securely and I don't drop it.

Morning all. Looks like a typical Thursday at work for me with meetings taking up most of my morning. In between meetings I get to play real life fruit ninja because I have to cut up about 50 pounds of lemons and blend them in a series of batches for some tests to run in the lab. Gives me a good reason to have noise canceling headphones and listen to music at work in order to drown out the sound of the blender, aka, the gallon sized margarita machine. 

Otherwise I'm hoping it's a quiet day at work before the school has their meet and greet with the teachers tonight. I'm sure I'll get dragged along to that. Busy, but relatively easy day is what it looks like so far. Subject to change of course. Here's hoping though. 

I swear... Every single time the cleaning crew comes in to the office/lab, they move my balance scale and screw up its level. Every single time I have to relevel it before I can start working. Just don't touch my stuff!

Good morning spies! Just swapped out the door switch on my dishwasher 'cause the darn thing doesn't like to start. The door switch is the only moving part and most likely to actually wear out. Nope. Guess the next step is to swap out the controller. Fortunately there is really nothing to a dishwasher. A little AC motor that runs the pump, some drain and inlet pipe work, a door switch, and a controller. The rest is housing and racks. 

Had one really bad hole yesterday. I take some of the blame but the start was a monster gust of wind that staggered me as I watched the ball sail down the right side of the fairway and suddenly push right and into the driving range. So an 8 on a par 4 that we had to count all 4 of the extra strokes. Not that it mattered much. We ended up 15 strokes more than the winning team. My guys put more gross 7s on the scorecard than I have seen in a long time.

In the 14 months we've lived in the Casa, we've gotten to use our dishwasher very little. Wouldn't drain, then wouldn't turn on. Service guy came out twice, misdiagnosed the problem the first time (blamed the drain problem on broken glass and didn't assess the other thing at all), then decided we needed a new drain pump and a new controller. Landlord decided it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to fix the old one. New one has been on order for a couple of weeks and hopefully arrives this weekend or early next week.

Good Late Thursday Morning Spies! 

It was a warm & muggy Central Florida morning, 76 degrees at 7am tee off.  Walked 18 holes this morning. It was nice we were done by 10am. The course was a bit damp from yesterday's rain, but an easy walk.  Rain was perfect timing after the course aerated the fairways & rough on Monday. 

Working from home today, zero commute, which is great since thunderstorms are rolling in.  Finishing up a double expresso and am ready for another. Looking forward to the Community Call this afternoon.

Jim, Saugeen golf course in Port Elgin is a nice course and one of the courses I first learned to play.  Oops I just dated myself.  Weather should be fine.  I'm volunteering at the Fortinet cup championship in a couple of weeks at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley  - North course, next years site for the Canadian Open.  The course had a major renovation and complete makeover last year, so it will be interesting to see how the pro's handle it.  The rough is already getting very thick and nasty.
