sp0rtsfan86
After the first lesson, it was a solid round followed by the worst round in ten years... the type you walk straight to the range after 9 instead of finishing 18. Since that point and another lesson it feels like I'm close although still far. My irons have come around and I'm still lacking a little distance but on days when my short game is solid, I can get around. Last Tuesday I shot 39 followed by a 44 Thursday and then a 91. The 91 had a triple double par finish that required two separate tree shots. That may have been me tiring out as compared to anything. Sunday was one of those lol rounds. I got the course and no one was there so I checked radar and nothing but yellow 45 minutes away. I figured as a solo golfer with a cart I could get 9 in, but I was paired in a 4 so I walked figuring I could get to 3 and back to the car. Made it to the 3rd hole and it went absolutely bonkers with heavy rain. We all walked away soaked with lighter rain continuing all morning. MaxEntropy
Got out for an early morning round with @DiscipleofPenick yesterday. I feel like Driver is starting to come around, but still not quite there. Other facets of the game were pretty good, so I ended up shooting an 83 (par 70). I have also been struggling a bit putting recently, so I decided to bench my Ping and switch back to the StrokeLab. In general, I putted pretty well with it, so I guess it'll stay in the bag for a while. cksurfdude, Rob Person, rkj427 and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR Recoil 760ES 3H, 4H: Tour B JGR 19*, 23* Recoil 780ES 4-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 SW: RTX Zipcore Black Satin 54* LW: TAIII Black 58* Putter: Scottsdale TR Senita Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x or AVX (yellow) Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ Test Currently In Progress: Fit For Golf 2.

After GC duties were over, I hit the range, as the STIX testing will be completed this week. Something was clicking, and decided despite 110⁰ temps, I was going to play. Started out as only going 9 holes. I got squeezed into a tee time with a couple of recent high school graduates, and another single, Don. The "kids" were hitting from the tips, while Don and I played from the white tees. Don just turned 90 last week, has fought in 6 wars/conflicts, and is a retired army Drill Instructor. What Don didn't tell me is he also shoots at a 3hcp! Anyway, I'm not sure why still, but I seemed to hit the dang clubs really well! First drive of the day, I clench a 240+ yard draw down the middle! I was stoked! The rest of the round is reflected on the card above. The tall kid with his hat and glasses could have been a Garrett Clark look a like from 3 years ago! More than that, he had the game to back it up! Both kids were striping the ball the whole round! After 9, I decided to just keep playing. I didn't hit the ball as far off the tee the rest of the round, but was definitely feeling it! My favorite club today was my 8i! It was a target lock on every 130-140 yd shot. Had 4 , 3 putts this round, 2 of em were misreads that caught bad roll aways with harder come back putts. The other 2 were over 20 and 40 feet away , downhill, and I fumbled my speed control on those. Overall, it was my best round to date, and hopefully not a fluke. Maybe it was Don's MOJO rubbing off on me. I didn't once try to kill the ball off the tee either. 20240623_154649.mp4 55.96 MB · 0 downloads 20240623_154020.mp4 47.02 MB · 0 downloads 20240623_161953.mp4 34.85 MB · 0 downloads Congratulations on the PB @Rob Person! Popular Post daver920
Took my 10 year old out for his first 9 holes on a non-par 3 course Saturday. It was a blast. He was delighted because he got one par (aided by a free kick) and got to drive the cart on a few occasions. I wasn't too concerned with my score, but did enjoy making a birdie from the trees on the last hole, and watching his jaw hit the floor as the birdie putt rolled in from 20 feet. I've played Banff a number of times, but only because I lived in Calgary into my 40's. Banff used to be an amazing 18 hole course with the 1st tee right under the hotel. There was little parking available and it was quite a hike from your car to the proshop. Now it's a 27 holer with a clubhouse and parking in the middle of the property. In my opinion, they really changed this amazing track in a negative way. I could go on. They used the Cauldron (par 3 hole) to tape versions of a TV show called Par 27, back in the 70's. 2 pros, hitting 3 shots each from the back tee, a forward tee and a bunker. Was a pretty cool show! I've played Predator once, beautiful track in the heart of the interior of British Columbia. Golf is so good in Vancouver that I rarely take the opportunity to head that way. Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon all have wonderful golf facilities. Worth a trip to take in a few of them. I've only had lunch at Bear Mountain. Heard good things about it. Many other opportunities on Vancouver Island that I'd rather play. Royal Colwood, Victoria Golf & Country Club and Olympic View to name a few. The 3 on the list are all spread out far from each other. You might be able to do Vernon and Vancouver Island on the same trip, but there is a 90 minute ferry ride from Vancouver to Victoria which you have to factor in to your travel. The Banff course is in a different province and might be available with a couple more flights, though it is still an hour outside of Calgary, so also would have to include a rental. Good luck! CSiders12
I went out this morning and played a quick 18 holes at my golf club. The course I play at is very tight and will penalize you if you are offline. It really is amazing how much penalty strokes can affect a good round of golf. Every hole is tree-lined and you can't really go into the trees to look for the ball because it is overgrown with weeds, poison ivy, thistles, etc. So, unfortunately, when you hit one into the crap, there isn't much you can do about it. I hit two balls into the crap which ruined a decent score for me, which is really sad. However, I'll take the rest of the round! This was my first round of golf this year at my club where I walked out and was happy with how I putted. I didn't have a single three-putt and was very consistent with my pace control. My irons were a little off, as well as my full swing off the tee. However, my short game was in a great place. Now, if I could ever figure out how to get all aspects of the game going at the same time, I could be dangerous. I shot +8 (80), but had two doubles because of balls that went into the crap. Without those two bad shots, I am looking at 78, which is a typical round for me out there. There is a tournament tomorrow at the course, so I have to wait until Wednesday. I will be ready! rkj427, cksurfdude, alii1959 and 4 others 4 3 Quote Driver: Callaway Rogue ST MAX LS Hybrid: SIM 2 3 Hybrid Irons: Mizuno JPX 921 Tour 4-P Wedges: Sub70 TAIII 50, 54, 60 Putter: Mizuno M.Craft Type 03 Putter Maxfli Tour Golf Ball Review Rapsodo MLM2Pro Launch Monitor Review Unofficial Mizuno Type III Putter Review

Irons were on point as well which made me a happy chap. Could not for the life of me get a good read on the greens though Took the wife with me and got a buggy as a treat. As it was nice and overcast the course was basically empty so managed to take my time and enjoy the round. Didn't keep score today as I wanted to get some good practice in....even so still got 5 pars which I couldn't help but be happy with. Best hole was the tenth, took the tiger line with my drive hitting it 260 yards leaving myself a 75 yard shot to the hole. Two putts for a lovely par!! Dweed
Watched 3 grandboys (3,8,11) for the past 3 days and nights. Totally burned out with, "what are we going to do next". Managed to play 9 today. Shot 40 but felt sore and stiff all over. Getting too old. cksurfdude, William P, rkj427 and 4 others 5 1 1 Quote D- Ping G 400 SFT 16*- Adams Tight Lie 19*- Adams Tight Lie 4H- Ping G 400 5-U- Ping G 400 SW- Nike 56*- Ping Glide 2 P- Sub70 004 Mallet
Big moose
Shot 44 in league play, not bad for starting out with a triple and two punch outs because I was hitting my driver further than normal and it was getting me in trouble. gingerbeast87, William P, Rob Person and 3 others 5 1 Quote Frank musolino

Popular Post cksurfdude
Played 18 on Sunday (yes: h.o.t. and h.u.m.i.d.) .. started out nicely with a solid drive right where I was looking, leaving me a short approach to the slightly elevated and well sloped green... .. yada yada yadda .. #18 is a long for me (close to 400 yds) Par 4 that plays all uphill so it's a 3-shotter for me with a pitch or a bump & run from near the green .. well had a really solid tee shot up the middle that seemed to get some extra runout (yay!) .. still had a long for me approach uphill (can't see the putting surface, just the top half of the flag stick) but pulled the 4H and just swung my swing .. pushed it a bit right, I'd thought, but got up there and see the ball on the right side fringe pin high ... First time that's happened! And yes .. I missed the par putt... ... @Tom the Golf Nut and @Rob Person Congrats!! on the great rounds!! @Triple_Putt Congrats!! on the Eagle!! Yeah, 52 on the back. Everything slowed right down on the back 9 to the point where we were waiting on every shot. That sort of thing kills any timing that was going on. Man, that stinks. Slow play can ruin a day for sure. I sense a redemption day coming for you. My worst outing was driving down to Myrtle Beach to play for the week with my dad, got the hosel skinnies and was stuck there for the remaining 3 days. I tried to just soak in the time with Dad and the beautiful courses but man was that frustrating. I shot a PB today, and have no frigging clue how! 20240623_154649.mp4 55.96 MB · 0 downloads 20240623_154020.mp4 47.02 MB · 0 downloads 20240623_161953.mp4 34.85 MB · 0 downloads Congrats on the PB Rob.
