Your TOP 3 Flat Sticks of all time

Hula Rock

Recommended Posts

Good grief, I have owned probably more than 65-70 putters in my golf life.  Some on a small collectors side, and most on the play side.  Most of the putters I tried to play didn't last long and were quickly sold or traded off.  Here are my top 3.

1) Byron Morgan Epic Day custom (long pipe welded neck, copper plated carbon steel)

2) TP Mills made for tour (2012) - Tour bag Huey (custom weld neck).  I sold this putter last year because this one deserves to be gamed.

3) TP Mills Heritage custom

1. Tommy Armour Impact #3

2. Odyssey Versa #7

3. Dont remember the name but it was a blade type putter that had Tom Watsons name on it.

Honestly only ever used 1 other putter and it was a slotline that an ex bought me. Nothing but bad mojo on that club haha.

The legendary Wilson 8802 forged blade,  Ping Anser, Yes putters, Victoria Mallet for me but they all get the bal rolling well. No particular order.   I havent tried the new Cobra putters with the SIK variable loft faces but I think they could be the next big thing as anything that promotes consistency and roll in a putting stroke has to help.

If you look back to the early 1990s at the putting averages on tour, they were as good then as they are now and todays golfers get to play on better greens.  Green reading and Putting stroke are in my opinion far more important than what actual brand of putter you use.  The money spent on putters due to excess marketing and hype would be better spent on green reading and putting lessons for most golfers but each to their own.

Idk about a top 3 because I probably haven't gone through enough to have a top3, but I do know my current game, the Odyssey White Hot OG #1WS w/ Stroke Lab is money.

1. My current Gamer:  TaylorMade mySpider Tour.  32in w/ 24 gram added to the head

2. Original Odyssey Rossie II.  Brass color w/ith Black insert.  33in

3. Never Comprise Z/I Omega 33in

I used to play blade putter before Never Comprise, but have fallen in love with mallet putters since.  I just feel more confident with them.

Two are face balanced mallets, a 1978 Ram Zebra and a current model Cleveland HB14.

With my present putting stroke, however, I'be been happy with my Tad Moore Chicopee,

a hickory shafted replica of a late-1920s Spalding model.
