Well I went and was trying out 7 woods, but nothing was feeling like my pxg 7 wood. That was until the worker at golf galaxy said try the Titleist 5 wood. Needless to say I now have a titleist 5 wood that is dialed down to 19 degrees which is where my 7 wood was at. I’m happy with the results.

So is this a ploy to tell the wife that you now need a 5 wood?

Neither could I. I just changed all my grips using an air compressor and it's awesome. I don't ever want to use solvent again.  I also can take my jumbomax grip and swap it onto another shaft in a minute and not have to buy a new grip.

I also bought a shaft puller to change tips on all these driver shafts I have been buying to test.  I never would have done all that without reading this forum. Is this forum bad for me?  It certainly is for my wallet

You slip the end of the grip over the end of the shaft, then take a compressor gun with a small tip and blow compressed air into the little hole on the other end of the grip.

It will cause the grip to expand and slide onto the shaft.

You have to be careful because if you use too much air you can literally "pop" a hole into the grip, or stretch it too much and distort it.

You also still have to make sure that you tape the end of the shaft so you don't get debris in there.

I still like using solvent personally for clubs that you full swing just for security and good measure, but the compressor method is perfect for putter grips.

You have to cut the old grips off like normal then I just put a strip of painters tape over the existing tape since I wanted them a touch bigger.  Then you get the end of the grip just started on the shaft and stick a compressor with a blow off nozzle into the hole at about 40 psi and blow.  The pressure creates a little cushion of air that you can slide the grip on and when you remove the air the grip shrinks back down and friction holds it in place.  You can also use a little soapy water if it is really tight.  You don't really need the special tool they make for it, but I'm sure it helps.  Softer grips will blow up like a balloon if you aren't careful.

You can then take the grip off by reversing the process.  Look on YouTube there are a bunch of videos and you only need a small compressor.

Yeah another reason I like to add tape rather than replacing the tape so that it's a little thicker to reduce slippage.  Also you need to make sure the tape folds over then end of the shaft otherwise you are shooting the air down the bore of the shaft and it isn't flowing over the shaft to make that cushion you need to slide it on.

I definitely had trouble with the MCC grips as the softer bottom part wants to balloon up.  You need to keep your hand there and maybe use the water trick to reduce friction.

I haven't had any issues of the grip slipping, but yes it's perfect for putter grips if you want to play with the alignment or you don't get it right the first time.
