I finally broke down and got fitted for a driver. I ended up with the stealth2 plus at 9 degrees. It's also cut down to 44.5" because I'm short. But so far I love the thing.

Decided it was time to move on from my old box set irons from 2003. Cougar brand, some of you probably don’t even remember them lol. After a bunch of research and testing (and a deal I couldn’t pass up), went with Wilson Staff Model blades. Already played a handful of rounds and I have two thoughts: “I thought blades were supposed to be hard to hit” and “Oh, that’s what everyone means by ‘feel’”. I had no idea it was possible to actually feel the golf ball on contact and manipulate it.

Just put the Wilson Dynapower Titanium driver in the bag today. Love it so far. Replaced a 14 year old Taylor Made R9. Before pulling the trigger on the Wilson I tested Titilest TSR3, Ping 430 Max 10K and Taylor Made Qi10. All good experiences at PGA Superstore and Golf Galaxy. The Ping and TM drivers did not suit my eye, heads too big.  I’m more of an old school, traditional guy. Really liked the Titleist until I tested the Wilson which was my last fitting. Suites my game best, great looks and the numbers were almost perfect. Whitey from Wilson was also awesome!! 
 

Gamed it this morning and missed four fairways. Really happy with the results and feel. Needs a tweak or two to get the optimal ball flight (high baby draw for me) but I’ll get there.

Did you do the Ai fitting for these?

The usual… more putters. This round included (3) Kirk Currie units. I’ve been looking for a minty Brazos in the raw finish for awhile. This one was listed as “water damaged” in a lot that included a Black Oxide San Saba and a KCII that I’ve never seen before. Fun fact, the neck on all three is the same hardware. Currie milled them out of titanium that could bent to spec on the spot. I’ve been working on a tricky Bobby Grace project for a pal and I’m gonna steal one of the straight necks to finish it for him. It also only took about 5 minutes of scotch brite scrubbing to make the Brazos head look brand new. Total for all three was $61

I also audition a new 3-wood every couple of years to keep my trusty 2009 Cobra S-91 Pro on its toes. The latest contender is a JDM Bridgestone Tour B X-F 15* laced to a legit Diamana TB 60 S. One of the better looking heads at setup that I can recall but it’s gonna have to be something special to finally kick the Cobra out of the bag.

Put a bid in on eBay on a used LAB DF2.1, 35"/69* with headcover. I authorized it to go up to $240 for now. Auction ends Sunday but we'll see how long $240 lasts as the top bid.

I bought a pair of asics gel course duo boa shoes on global golf for 87.99 I have a black and white pair and a blue pair, I got the all white ones i really like these shoes.

Ordered a PXG 9* driver, and tracking showed it arriving today Monday the 6th). 

So I was IMMENSELY please when it showed up last Thursday, as I had a golf weekend booked!

Put a FreeFlex MetaFlex 6H shaft in it, and hit 27 / 32 fairways, so I can't be too mad about how it performs! 

Lacks the raw distance of my Darkspeed, but accuracy is definitely higher.

Also got the Golf Pride reverse taper pistol grip in, and installed Thursday, prior to leaving

Can't wait for them to offer color options in the RT grips. I'm beginning to not like the white so much.  Looks great on the red shaft!

A few weeks ago he sent me a picture of a Titleist U505 2-iron and asked if I'd be interested. I said absolutely without having to think twice. Meanwhile this U505 looks beautiful and has a Graphite Design Tour AD DI-85S shaft in it. 

I recently got a new 3-wood with a red Ventus Velocore shaft in it and it's been my new favorite club. I told him to keep an eye out for a Ventus blue driver shaft because if I'm hitting my 3-wood this good, I can only imagine it would help my driving too, right?! Long story short he found one, threw a ping tip on it and sent it out with the 2-iron above.

The box arrived yesterday and I was very excited to get my hands on the new 2-iron and driver shaft. Then to my surprise, I opened the box and saw a bunch more extra gifts! He threw in a dozen golf balls including the new Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X balls, as well as some TaylorMade TP5s. He also included two brand new Titleist Players gloves in my size, a Titleist hat and last but definitely not least... a Greyson polo in my size.

I'm over the moon and it feels like Christmas morning with all these new toys. Super excited to put the new driver shaft and 2-iron into play this weekend. Hoping they provide me with the results I'm expecting!

Not as much what I bought, but what I won during a Masters giveaway on Instagram from Jesusofgolf! Thank you Scottie for shooting -11 and the random draw out of three for the win! Was able to get a Ventus TR Blue 6X as well, which is the shaft I play in my TSi3. Can't wait to see how the Darkspeed X does on the course! Just a few teaser photos, proper ones to come later 

As an owner of the Aerojet Max, the Darkspeed line is night and day better looking from the club to the headcover, and the AJ Max is no slouch in the looks department. And yes, @sirchunksalot, the crown looks nearly identical to the KING TEC Hybrids!

On Trackman at Golf Galaxy last weekend with the stock UST LIN-Q M40X White, it was really dang good. Good strikes produced mid 2000s spin and I was getting 148-151 ball speed out of 100-102 mph clubhead speed with 250s carry and 270s total. As my speed comes back up throughout the season, I definitely think 300 is possible if I can keep spin and launch optimized. We will see!

I've got to say, I completely agree with you on the looks department and that the Aerojet Max is a great looking club. I just think the murdered out look of the Darkspeed and that headcover just take it to a whole new level. I've only seen it in person once at PGASS and it still has the plastic on the head so I couldn't see how good it looked at address.

Well, Luigi is here, and as expected, it's great quality. Definitely an underrated headcover/accessories company. A few days earlier, bought the Hulk for the exact same reason, not knowing Luigi would come next (the 5yo prefers Spiderman, but that cover looked a bit rough for his age -- did buy the Spidey ball marker for him, so he can settle for that). 

Don't remember if I shared these when they came in, but here's the new ones plus a couple past HFL purchases - Yoshi and Mikey are hybrids (I don't have a hybrid... So why did I buy them? Oh right, hoes don't discriminate).

Great collection there. I know that the HC I decide on for the Qi10 will definitely be from HFL. The Luigi and Hulk look even better in your photos which is rare seeing as HFL takes pretty good photos.

Looks very similar to the Rypboard from the people who brought you/me the Rypstick. Purpose is to encourage proper weight shift, of course.

Played a few rounds with some Chrome Tours our Callaway rep gave us. I really like them. Way better ball than the older Chrome Soft LS, which I suppose was Callaway's closest comparison to them. It's a great reaction off the club, and the spin I get around the greens with them is awesome. Not to mention that they are available in a ton of different patterns (triple track, trutrack, 360).
