The weight range is about perfect for me, as is bend profile. I think I ultimately went with MMTs because they are .355 and I didn't want to bother with tip trimming... I'll let @ejgaudette address the fitting part, but want to talk about 0.355" taper tip part. Taper tips definitely require less work, especially when we are talking about 0.355" heads. And taper tips are constant weight, so there is that aspect. I like parallel tip shafts because it offers more flexibility to play with the flex based on tip trim amount. But they are more work because you also have to sand down from 0.370" to fit 0.355" hosels, and that requires a decent amount of work, even with a belt sander. So I have not had a chance to document that as things have been busier at work, and my wife and I just welcomed our third child into the world a couple months ago now. It was good I had some GC Quad numbers to help make some choices. I mostly called about the shaft choice as I found a good deal on the HMP irons. MMTs where the other option but it came down to a cost decision since the MMTs were $30 more per shaft than the Fuji. They felt both would be a good fit with my goal to drop some spin without dropping much else in the numbers as the ball speed and other numbers were not bad, I just tend to not deloft the club as much. I am hoping to write something up about this all soon. golfish!
As mentioned above I ordered a dozen RCT ProV1's because I am a sucker for data accuracy as an engineer. Thinking of doing a joint unofficial test with @edingc. Also ordered some hitting mats and a net from Amazon. Since I had the Rukket tri-turf small hitting mat, I ordered the matching "Tri-turf golf hitting mat attack". Rukket Tri-Turf Golf Hitting Mat Attack basically a narrow hitting mat with cutouts for their tri and two turf mats. Good idea in theory but after receiving it found that the longer cutout is too short for the tri-turf. Also, the shorter cutout allows you to insert the tri turf mat in a longer orientation but even in this orientation it is too narrow to try and hit a tee'd up ball with your driver. If you go to the Amazon link and see the pictures my explanations make sense lol. So this is being returned. I also ordered the GoSports Pro 5X4 hitting mat. GoSports Pro 5X4 Hitting Mat This one has 6 cut outs for rubber tees and comes with 3 rubber tees of various heights (and one of them lets you insert a regular tee). Has a nice thickness and turf feel to it. Will be keeping this one and doing follow ups on durability. Finally ordered a Heavy Duty 7X10 hitting net. These are all probably made by the same factory in China and rebranded so just find the one that has the best price and offers a good warranty. Hit Run Steal 7X10 Golf Hitting Net I bought this one from a company called "Hit Run Steal" as it seemed from reviews they offer excellent customer service. I can attest to this as I ordered this used from Amazon and it came with 2 of the poles missing. I emailed their customer service and told them I bought it used from Amazon and they are sending the missing parts free of charge. I saw in the reviews someone else had ordered it used as well and got a damaged net and the company also replaced it for them. Once the replacement parts arrive and I can get this set up in my garage I will follow up. I was using the Rukket pop up net but wanted something with more coverage at the top since the pop up net sits like a triangle. (I did pop up a drive once and it went over the net and into an open field thankfully). I only got the Rukket pop up net for the portability since at the time I was living in a small apartment but now that I am in a house with a garage I can set up a more permanent net! cnosil, ejgaudette, edingc and 3 others 6 Quote Driver : SIM2 Max 9* MC Kuro Kago Silver 60 Stiff Woods : GS53 3 Wood 14* Mitsubish Tensei Blue 73g Regular Hybrids: 949X Project X HZRDUS RDX Black Irons : 699 Pro Black 5-AW 1* flat KBS Tour V 90 Stiff Shafts Wedges : 52, 56, 60 Putter : Spider Red Bag : lightweight cart bag | Dry Series Bag Ball : TP5 PIX (2019) | ProV1x (2021) Rangefinder : ULT-X Pushcart : M5 GPS DHC Electric Push Cart SoCal, USA Right handed HDCP 16.

For now I will be hitting some brand new ProV1's out the box without stickers to get some baseline numbers and compare with my Shotscope distances out on the course. DStar
Spotted a Cobra F9 3 wood on eBay, advertised as used going cheap, and I've decided to give it a go over the winter as we have a few holes where driver is too much club. Turned up yesterday, brand new with a couple of marks on the crown. £70 cksurfdude, MattF, Rickp and 4 others 7 Quote Aerojet F9 3/4 Wood Aldila NV 2KXV Blue JPX921SEL 4-PW Nippon Modus³ Tour 120 X SM8 50° F-Grind SM8 54° F-Grind SM8 58° K-Grind DStar 'Malvern' Putter AVX & -ProV1X Tour-X "Hey mister, your clubs are the wrong way round".. These are in pretty outstanding condition. Exact length as my current irons too. I just need to re grip, maybe throw on some new ferrules, and maybe some paint fill. Thinking all Mizuno blue themed. Good god, man! Those really are in outstanding condition! And yet they must be close to 25 year old clubs. Got me all nostalgic as well, had T-Zoids as a junior golfer in high school and I’d go as far as to say that just about every golfer in the mid to late 90s badly wanted those club. Enjoy the sticks. revkev
Alright - I did the Black Friday Hogan Buy 2 get one Equalizer 2 wedge - I've given up on the Edisons and my SCORs are aging so much that despite the groove sharpener I feel as if they are being inconsistent on shots around the green. With a free wedge in the mix I can try two of them for a month or so and if I don't like them come close to breaking even on a resale so there's not much to loose. Hogan is in stock by the way - I ordered them on Tuesday and they shipped this morning despite me customizing them a bit. I wish I had time to play golf - I have two rounds scheduled, one for Saturday, one for Monday - first in three weeks - I think that I can sneak one in on December 4th but then I'm done until the week after Christmas. MattWillGolf
I decided to give the JumboMax Tour Series grip a try on my driver. The fitting guide on their website recommended size small for me. I also had been seeing some YouTube golfers giving the grips a try. Peter Finch put a set of them on his clubs. I was also diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and want to try something with some “cushion”. But I made the switch late in the season and turn of the weather in Central New York has the clubs in the basement for the year. I need more time with it if I’m being fair. I will be hitting the indoor golf facility during the off-season. I must admit it does feel a bit “weird”. But. Do want to give it a proper trial. cksurfdude, edingc, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote CB-P226 Hoofer Cart Bag 0311 Black Ops 8° w/Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60 0311 XF 3 wood 16° w/Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 0211 19° Hybrid w/Project X Even Flow Riptide G410 Crossover 4 w/Mitsubishi Tensei Blue Paradym X 6 - GW w/True Temper Elevate MPH Official Forum Test SM9 54°/12° D and 58°/12° D w/KBS Tour 110 ER11v 34” Evnroll ER11v Official Forum Test Shot Scope Pro LX+ Pro LX+ Official Forum Test MTB prime 3.5+
