RichL85
Seems like January has been a month for my family as well. Early January my mother had a stroke, then my mother-in-law fractured her wrist on the 20th. Father-in-law had shoulder surgery on the 23rd, so both in-laws are down to one arm for the next few months. Got word last night that my mother-in-law's brother fell off his roof and was on life support in the hospital. Doesn't look good for him, but we are just waiting to hear any further news. I'm ready for February already. fixyurdivot, sirchunksalot, Kenny B and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: PXG 0811XF Gen 4 w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 6- 3 Wood: PXG 0341XF Gen 4 w/ Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 70g Hybrids: 19 and 22 degree PXG 0317XF Gen 4 w/ Project X Evenflow Riptide 80g Irons: 5-PW PXG 0311P Gen 4 w/ KBS Tour 120 Wedges: Indi 50 FLX, 54 FLX, 58 ATK w/ KBS Wedge 610 (Official Review) Putter: Battle Ready Blackjack, 36.5”, Double Bend neck Spornia SPG-7 hitting net review 2023 Titleist White Box ProV1 review

Rickp
Not a good week. Popular Post GolfSpy_APH
Not me a got problems, but had the best man of my first wedding message me tonight. Short version, his wife up and left with the kids and took his dog as well. The details aren't pretty and it sounds as though there was a mental breakdown from stress among other things? Of course I don't know the full story. He is an amazing dad and incredible person. They as a couple were awesome too. So full of life and fun and had gone through a lot, but were great for each other. Now it sounds like their mom is pitting the kids against him and he is having to really fight hard for custody and even just to get a phone call with them. I am stunned, shocked, speechless and just don't get it. I just hope they can figure things out and at the very least find a way for the kids to get back to a normalish life. Again I don't know the details and I just feel bad I can't be there to help him through this tough time. I couldn't ever imagine going through something like that. GolfSpy_KFT
This isn’t directly tied to me, but I found out that my high school athletic trainer passed away from a long battle with cancer tonight. I suffered a pretty serious knee injury my junior year during basketball season and she pulled me through rehab and got me back playing later that year. I really struggled emotionally during that time and I honestly don’t know where I’d have been or what path I’d have taken without her guidance. She was a major influential factor in my life and was the reason I chose the career path I took. I coincidentally met my wife in college, who was the same major as me, so it’s fair to say my life may be a complete 180 were it not for her. I just got to see her again in January when I attended an alumni event for my high school’s basketball program and got to introduce her to my youngest son, who had decided to tag along with me that day. I’ll be forever grateful for the impact she had on my life. buckpillar, MattF, sirchunksalot and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: TSi3 9* Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6X Fairways: Aerojet Max 3W & 7W MCA Kai'Li White 60 Stiff Hybrid: King TEC 3H MCA MMT 85g Stiff Irons: Aerojet 6-GW KBS $-taper Lite Stiff Wedges: Snakebite Black 52/56/60 Hi-Rev 2.0 Black Stiff Putter: Super Select Newport 2.0 Ball: Tour X & ProV1x #LeftyGang Cobra 50th Anniversary Member Special Challenge (link here) Unofficial FootJoy Hyperflex BOA 2023 Review Unofficial Flightscope Mevo Review
GolfSpy AFG
Stressed. I graduate from the war college June 9th, and I don't have to report to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio until August 1st. In the meantime, we're trying to buy a house in Dayton, and ended up having to put in an offer above list price to get in. However, the inspection report came back and it was extensive...several windows need to be repaired, there is a water pressure issue with the master shower, and a door needs to be replaced. We've specified those repairs need to be done, but if the seller balks we're going to have to walk away and start over on the housing search, with over $1K for the appraisal and inspection lost. Add to that stress the fact that the Air Force was late getting me my orders, so I'm going to have to move myself rather than have a moving contractor do it. I'll be fine, just venting a little bit. GolfSpy AFG
Update: we had to back out of the contract we had on a house in Ohio. Back to square one. Must concur with these comments, has a real canary in the coalmine feeling to it, glad you escaped that one because for the seller to react that way there must be so much more that was no uncovered that might be discovered once those problems are in process of correction. I remember when we were in the home buying position how careful we were to not put our hopes into any one property including older homes and new builds, both can have hidden surprises and I avoid any transaction with someone who has an attitude that triggers warnings. The inspection found window and plumbing problems that we wanted fixed; the sellers basically gave us the middle finger and said no. Not too concerned yet, we have time to find a place, but flushing $1.3K in appraisal and inspection costs certainly sucks… Thats a pretty stiff appraisal and inspection cost. Mine was less than 1/2 that back in November. Lots of irons in the fire. That $1000 you spent may be the best money spent and a blessing and hope it all works out. Water pressure issues can be difficult to isolate, and if there happens to be a slow leak in an inconspicuous area, there could be mold issues. Often times sellers try to pass the buck and give the buyer a discount and let them fix the problems but anything to do with water should be the sellers problem to fix. I know you posted this awhile ago, hope it works out for you. buckpillar, Rickp and GolfSpy AFG 3 Quote Driver: Fusion, 9 deg, UST Recoil 450 ES F3/2 430 MAX 4w (5w head delofted 1* with 3w shaft), 7w, 5h w/ Alta CB Soft Regular shaft JPX923 HM 6i - GW w/ UST Recoil 460 ESX F3 RTX6 52* and 56* with Recoil 760 ESX F2 Versa DB DoubleWide : Z-Star Tour

windy
That's a bummer about not getting the shot right away, but hey, progress! The medial branch block will be a valuable step towards finding the right treatment, and even though it's still a wait, it's a wait with a plan. Focus on the positive - you're on the path to feeling better, and those nerve meds should help in the meantime. Keep your chin up!
