I am half a Irish as is my wife. My son is Michael Francis and my middle daughter is Reilly Marie. My youngest has the Polish name for my other half. My daughter will be wearing a Celtic Cross for her Holy Communion tomorrow.

But if I were a tree on the west coast I'd be real close to it. All place names. Brooklyn Speedway, not NY. Channing, Mi. Mt. McKinley (president too), Stratton, Vt and XXXXXX ID

 

Nothing to do with Scottish. But there ya go anyways.

Very cool. All three of my children have names with meaning. My son is named after my grandfather and my wife's grandfather, my middle after a family friend and my mother in law and the youngest after my aunt and grandmother. I am named after St. James and my grandfather. Really believe in having names with meanings behind them.

This is my Irish family crest. The other half is Scottish (yes, they stopped being stubborn long enough to procreate). I've been told about our house and shown our tartan and all that good stuff but I just can never remember anything to do with that half of the family

My Scottish side ancestors were Campbells, but there is a whole lot of mixing of the nations in that lineage (Scottish, Irish, English, and Welsh). We wandered I guess.

 

As a result, I always go general military plaid with Black Watch. Insert winter is coming joke here :)

Anyone wear a kilt?

 

I'm not Scottish (German and Serbian), but when I attended a wedding in Scotland I was strongly urged to wear a kilt.  Apparently it would have been appropriate for me to wear the tartan of the groom's family (I was friends with the groom's dad), but the kilt-hire shop didn't have it available.  I ended up with the Black Watch tartan.
