Favorite movie?

I'm huge movie buff and was wondering what was everyones favorite movie? Like if there is that one movie on tv and you always stop watch it...mine would be Forrest Gump. I absolutely love that movie.

This thread reminded me that when I was a junior in college, Top Gun was playing on AMC, CMT, and TCM like 3 times a day. We had a contest to see who could watch Top Gun the most in a semester. Winner got to be called Maverick though for the second semester. Kudos to Joe who watched it 15 times. I finished a distant 3rd with 4

Tough one as I have quite a few favorites.

 

Sci-fi: independence day, dune

Sports historic/Drama: the natural,

Golf movie:the legend of bagger Vance, caddie Shack, Happy Gilmore

Comedies: airplane, Ghostbusters, minty python and the meaning of life, blazing saddles, national lampoon Vacation, Space balls.

 

Good thing I leave the TV off or else I wouldn't get a lot done lol

Ok, so my all-time favorite movie is probably West Side Story. Not the coolest or more action packed pic, but I love that damn thing so much. Also a Big Lebowski fan for a more modern flick and I absolutely love B movies and Syfy originals. Yes I've seen every Sharknado, the rankings are as follows 2, 1, 3, 5, getting eaten by an actual shark, 4.

 

I could break the post down into more movies as I have favorites from certain directors and what not, but I'm at work and that will take way too long.

My favorite action movie is a tie between Top Gun and Commando. Both have crazy lines and a great pace.

 

Serious/drama has to be Forest Gump. Just a great feel good movie and an interesting view of American history. I love the line about Lt Dan buying into a fruit company so Forest doesn't have to worry about money anymore.

 

The first two Godfather movies and Casablanca are also classics that I watch a lot every year.

 

Also a few classic AH movies like North by Northwest, Rope, Vertigo, Dial M for Murder.

 

I could go on forever, the Mrs and I are huge movie buffs but I don't want to bore you all too much.

I like spy thrillers - too numerous to mention here. But when it comes to comedies it's: animal house, blues brothers, caddy shack and Captain Ron.
