It is very unlikely that the wire fell any further than the bottom of the floor plate. Depending on the size of the hole where the thermostat is mounted and the height of the hole you may be able to fish the wire out yourself. If the hold is an inch around get some duct tape and an old fishing rod. Put a wad of the tape on the end of the rod sticky side out. Run it down the wall and dab gently. You don't want to grab more than the end of the wire and just pull it back out. Might take a few tries. 

Or measure how high your receptacle outlets are from the floor. At that height cut a hole in the sheetrock that a blank outlet plate will cover. Remove the thermostat drop a string down the hole and pull it out the new hold in the wall. Get a hanger and use it to fish the wire out of the new hole. Tie the string to the wire and pull it out of the thermostat hole. Get a short piece of 1x1. Cut it so it is 2 inches or so longer than the hole in the wall. Put a wood screw through the wall plate into the center of the 1x1, Make sure the wood screw is long enough to allow you to slide the 1x1 into the hole and move it around until the plate covers the hole and the 1x1 grabs the edges of the hole above and below the hole. Tighten the wood screw gently until the plate is solid on the wall. When you get in the home improvement mode later you can put a proper patch on the wall.

Good morning Spies! Neck is a little bothersome today, but no more than it was before yesterday's two workouts (pre-FFG and Rypstick). I will probably do a light workout later today; I don't think doing both on the same day is advisable for my goal of increased swing speed. 

Part of the deal of my job is that I have to maintain certification, which requires a lot of continuing education and a test every few years. It started out as a recertification test every six years; now it's every 10 years. This is that 10th year. The test takes five hours and is hard enough that they give you multiple attempts to pass it (you pay $350 for each attempt). I've been delaying for a while now, but scheduled the test for June 26, and paid for a $400 review course to hopefully pass it the first time. I've always passed it before, but sometimes by the skin of my teeth.

Not a great morning so far, fighting with Health Net AKA tricare. 
They approve two visits to Denver for two different Drs but have held up one that was requested before the other two. Makes zero sense. Think positive thoughts Erin… anyway, played yesterday and tried the mindset balls. Not any gains on drives or irons, but putting was really good. I edited my review and it’s in the mindset forum. Take a read at your convenience. Oh, I have one more gif to share before I go absolutely postal on tricare…

Good morning! The weather outside today has been fantastic and I'm hoping to get to an outdoor driving range today. I'm planning to call it Masters prep. I do need to download the Masters app on all my devices like @MattWillGolf, @Rob Person and @Preeway! This is the only tournament I watch a significant amount of on all 4 days. 

All these car issues people are having reminds me that I have an appointment to fix a recall in my Subaru tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder GMT!

I don't know what you've got for a metal dust collection setup, but the Magna-Matic with a spark arrestor has been a game changer for me with cutting and grinding and keeping the shop free from all the fine black metal dust.  I have replaced the metal intake with something better suited, but it really sucks in the dust when cutting and grinding

This thread is hopping today!

No golf for me today, but had a nice dual lesson last night with my youngest daughter.  I am learning that my tendency to set up with my shoulders open is getting worse.  My coach is too nice to say it's because I am getting old.  But it sure feels weird to turn my shoulders to square, b/c my torqued back is telling me they are totally closed.   It's an easy fix, thank goodness, but I will have to stay mindful.  I am still constantly amazed by the new and creative ways I manage to mess up my swing!

Masters week is so great.  The range feed is playing on my other monitor.

@MN_Hacker  I have a tiny spot in my garage for the storage of my welders and plasma cutter and do most of my work in the driveway. Your dust collector looks fantastic, but I have no room.

Good Morning everyone!  A little cooler than yesterday, but still sunny and thankfully no wind!!!  Wife has left for her Ladies League; I will head to the course for much needed short game work.  Spent yesterday pruning evergreens and even got on a ladder!!    Arms and shoulders are sore.

Good cloudy, but warm Wednesday morning fellow Spies! Nice hot cup of English Breakfast hitting the spot, reading the posts and getting ready for league play! We have our meeting tonight, so start up is right around the corner! Psyched to play in a charity event on Sunday for a local cause.

Woke up this morning to an e-mail newsletter from my local golf course and they're opening this Friday!

Was quick enough to secure a tee time on Sunday morning!

Good morning spies, I ended up working so late last night that I actually slept through my alarm and missed my dang tee time this morning... So not off to a great start...

On the up side I did get put in with another single for a 2pm tee time today, so all is right!  Having some coffee and doing some stretching to prepare for my day.  Excited to try out the Bridgestone Mindset ball today, just gotta remind myself to keep my phone handy for some pics!

We have a whole thread on the Newton Shafts. 

A few of us really like them and a few haven't. The woods shaft is brand new and looking forward to seeing how it performs.

Good morning spies!

Cups of coffee are flowing this morning after 14 hours on the road yesterday. Was supposed to be only 3 hours of driving but between LA traffic, frequent stops, people calling, errands popping up, and more LA traffic, my fiancé and I ended up being out and about with Mr. Pickles from 6am to 8pm. No joke, I am tired. But when I arrived home, there was a surprise waiting for me that changed my mindset

I have to complete coursework for my Final on Windows Powershell and would like to have it all finished by tomorrow night so that I can enjoy Friday-Sunday Masters Coverage while I pen my review of the Qi10 Max. It feels appropriate that the two go hand in hand. 

Besides that, I hope you make it through the Wednesday in good spirits and if you're golfing, may it be beautiful day for it!

BTW –

Meant to mention that at the par 3 fifth hole on my round this morning, I found the flag out. No big deal, the green is on a hill, and the gusts probably pulled it out. Hit my tee shot, walked up onto the green, looked in and found a half-eaten toad at the bottom of the cup. I’m guess someone was stowing it to snack on for another time. 

No pics. Just, eew! Had to pull it out in order to finish the hole.

Morning Spies. 

Still working on my first cup of coffee and I was greeted by the dreaded "Hey." on Teams with no further questions for an excessive period of time. I'm not awake enough for work small talk before the work question, so naturally I ran over here for Golf related small talk. It only makes sense. 
 

And yes, I've asked this person in the past to just type their full question straight away but they still seem to prefer the "Hey" as if they're sliding into my DMs or something--not that I've ever actually experienced that.

Anyone have any fun Teams/Slack stories or pet peeves to share by chance?

Played yesterday and started with the Newton. Played the first 9 with it, switched to the Steadfast for the second 9, played well with it, but not as long so ended up switching back to the Newton. As soon as I put it back in, blasted another drive 288. Hit a tree on the left side by the green otherwise would have rolled out and possibly ended up pin high with about a 10 yard chip. Instead I had a 30 yard pitch out of the first cut. I’m pretty sold on mine now.

Well, both of my younger boys are playing baseball this year. The deal is, if they smack one over the fence they can get a new bat, and glove.

Both of them hit absolute bombs to center field.  Almost identical trajectory, think Rory Traj… 

Luckily for me, grandpa is in town and took care of the glove part of it for me.  It’s only a matter of time before they hit a dinger.

They brought my son in cold to pitch from first base in the last inning to close After the the pitcher before him allowed 3 runs and hit 2 kids.  Dude struck 1 out standing, pop fly, and another swinging with bases loaded.  I love baseball!

Sorry to read about the issues with Tricare. I have no personal experience with them but have heard from friends an extended family that Tricare can both be a boon and a bust for those that have earned it. Best of luck for your lady in getting it all sorted out.

Good morning all from a beautiful spring day in Wisconsin. Took the boys out on the course yesterday after school for a little goof around fun. Oldest was striking the ball exceptionally well, probably the best I’ve ever seen him hit them. Had a drive that had to be about 85-90 yards on our last played hole (he’s 7 at the end of the month). It’s fun watching him become more and more coordinated with swinging a club and gaining some speed swinging freely instead of having to really actively try to do it. He was frustrated with putting because he kept blowing them past the hole, so I told him we’d just do some practice at home on the putting matt and that he would get better as the season rolls along. Youngest was just out for some fun, would whack a ball and then just explore lol. Going to head to the range here shortly to work on my swing and hopefully iron out these yips I’ve developed. 

One more sleep till The Masters!!!
