Popular Post jbern
Good morning! Another standard Tuesday at work with a lot going on. The weather is beautiful here in Southern MI today, so I'm hoping to squeeze in a short range session or short game practice to enjoy the outdoors a little. I also received two golf packages recently. I'll post more details in their respective corners of the forum, but one package was wedges from Sub70 and the other was the Exputt putting simulator! I'm very excited for both! Have a good day everyone! @IndyBonzo - What kind of new to you LAB putter did you find? The DF3 testing thread would love to help you name it when you get it! @sirchunksalot - Sorry to hear you need to foot the bill for car repairs. Never fun and kind of surprising, given that you lease. Hopefully it all turns out well for you. @rkj427 - Enjoy your last day before retirement. Hopefully you have a nice 2+ hour speech planned! @Mr_BogeyPro - I'm going to try to get a quick range session in today. My plan changes depending on how much time I have. Since today's is quick, I'll try to warm up as much as possible before hitting any balls. Then I'm going to mostly focus on address. I have a wooden ruler with markings on it to indicate my foot and ball position should be with each club. I go through my pre-shot routine, make sure I'm in the correct position based on my aid and fire away. Then I repeat. On days where I have more time, I'll focus on other things like aim or swing thoughts or recording my swing and analyzing it. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, Got a quick 9 holes in before work on base today. Was rather fun getting out and enjoying the morning being the second person out. The bummer part was trying to watch my ball cause the sun seemed to be in the background of every shot on most holes. I can say that I finally conquered the par 3 that I had always put my ball in the drink on. Simple par 3 over water with a bunker that guards the front of the green as well. it's only 120 yards to the middle of the green from the tee. Every time, straight into the water, until today. Wind was blowing pretty decently so I clubbed up to my PW, swung easy, and on the green. I should have swung normal but I was over...2 putt par. Shot a 41, have to edit some media content so I can put it up for the Sqairz Velo testing thread. Maxed at 86 today with a session average of 84. To tell you where I was, when I got fitted for my driver two years ago, the fitter said I was swinging in the low 70s. Obviously wasn't hitting the ball anywhere. As I recall, my distances that afternoon were slightly better with the 3-wood than the driver, probably due to higher launch. The other night on the range when the Garmin got me at 83 mph, total distance was 193 with 161 carry (11.3 degree launch angle). If I can improve the speed and the launch angle, consistent 200+ seems likely, and I'm getting the occasional 200 now on the course with favorable conditions (wind, roll, or downhill, or just higher launch). A 193 with rollout ain't great but it beats hell out of the 2022 model. Edited April 30 by ILMgolfnut Cfhandyman, IndyBonzo, Girldad18 and 10 others 13 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. I'm thinking about trying that this afternoon before I drive home. I did try that on the way home. It.... didn't go so well. I got through seven holes before giving up. I had read complaints that Garmin's Home Tee Hero course sim software isn't very accurate, and I believe it. I'd stripe one down the middle and get "132 -- rough". But once I shut down HTH and went back to the normal Garmin driving range, it worked fine. And gave me some very interesting numbers. Such as third drive, 160 carry with a little draw, rolled out to 191, club head speed 93. As much as I wish that 93 was accurate, I doubt it. Especially with backspin of 2500, max height of 11 yards and a launch angle of 8.4. But I'd take 191 down the middle every single time. And one of my rare shots with a positive angle of attack, although you wouldn't know it from the trajectory. Then, six balls later, carry 157, total 202, CHS 83. It said I was 15 yards right of the target line, but in truth it was another little draw. One of my bullets (9 launch angle, max height 9) but I would absolutely take that one every time too. Then a nice little draw with my 7-wood, rolled out to 163 with 80 CHS. I'll take that every time too, except maybe if I'm hitting it off the tee of a 150-yard par 3 over water with a shallow green. But in that case I'd try to play a cut. As for the course sim, I think eventually I'm going to buy Awesome Golf or E6 or something. But not right away. Just no sim rounds for me for now. It truly wasn't your fault that it was filled with poor quality fuel. I've talked to the insurance and filled a claim, but they told me it wasn't covered by them. I was hoping it would be, but since it's insurance the lease company chose, I'm probably hitting a wall there. I'm thinking about trying that this afternoon before I drive home. I did try that on the way home. It.... didn't go so well. I got through seven holes before giving up. It may impact the policy in the future (the next 3 yr period) if other claims are filed. Make sure, at renewal time, the company does not try to surcharge your policy for a claim being filed. You tell them, this "Comprehensive" claim should not be a chargeable incident! Good Luck! Popular Post Northern Monkey
Good morning all. A foggy, but pleasantly warm, start to today. Hoping it burns off so I can get a round in and try out the Ghost bag for the first time this afternoon. @sirchunksalot at least the cost for the repairs aren’t as bad as expected. If the wife was shocked imagine how she’s gonna feel when you tell her the $500 you saved on repair costs is going on new golf stuff Have a great day everyone ZJeb67, William P, Cfhandyman and 13 others 3 12 1 Quote Driver: G430 Max Fairway: LTDx Max 3 wood Hybrid: Mavrik 3 hybrid Irons: Mavrik 4-AW, Wedges: Jaws MD5 50 and 56 wedges Putter: Mallet Ball: Chrome Soft
Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! It's a foggy morning after some heavy rain yesterday. I hope all the wet weather is gone for the next couple of days as I have a tee time tomorrow after work. @Northern Monkey after the stress I've had recently I need some golf retail therapy. I'll probably stop this weekend and stock up on some golf balls for the forum trip. We'll be down near Dick's Sporting Goods and I might stop by to get some. I hope everyone has a great day! jbern, Josh Parker, Cfhandyman and 17 others
