I can't wait to see how this works out for you guys! I'm hoping that the setup is easy and numbers you guys get are accurate!

I'm not sure about the Mevo but I did buy the RCT balls to use hitting indoors with my Garmin R10 and the Numbers are much more accurate than hitting regular ball.

The range is closed for the day and ended up having some work stuff to get done so.... decided to start working on my first impressions and snapped a few photos for my reviews.  

Here is a glamour shot of the unit.  Hard to believe so much data comes in such a small unit.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!

The mevo is in hand baby. Will get some pics and first impressions up after work but like others have mentioned. I can’t believe how small it is.

I'll be curious to see if what you guys think you hit the ball distance wise matches up to what y'all actually hit it.

I mean, I believe that you are all capable, knowledgeable golfers and that you are all pretty much dialed in. 

It's also going to be interesting to see how well gapped out your clubs are.

Now that they have arrived with the testers, I am really looking forward to seeing their thoughts, and comments as they hopefully utilize them as they originally planned.

Knowing that some of the testers will need to be indoors during the mid-west winter season, and some others may be outdoors, seeing the different perspectives should provide enough information on the long-term use depending upon the reader's current location.

Great job on the initial impressions, Mark. It really puts it into perspective how small this unit is from both seeing it in your hand and up against the boxes of golf balls. It's amazing how much tech they can fit into such a small package.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your initial run with it and interested to see how easy it is to setup and use.

The Mevo looks pretty far away from you in the photo.  Is that just an optical allusion? How far does it need to be behind you outdoors?

I have one and usually set it up about 6 - 7 feet behind the ball.

I think it was just how the wife took the photo.  It has a max distance of 7ft according to the instructions.

Super easy setup and liked that the kit came with the metallic stickers. I ended up buying the RCT balls so will be able to compare those 2 against each other.

instructions on setup were great and very easy. Went over the different games that come with the MEVO and the range, all very straight forward it looks like.

 Like I said earlier will get this going with swings hopefully this weekend if not next week after the holidays!

How do you guys line up the Mevo? Is there a sight line on the unit or just kind of put it behind the ball?

You may be correct but it’s definitely something I plan on testing.

I put it in line with the ball.  I measured out the distance yesterday and had to put a foam block under it to make it the same height of the hitting mat.  

The face of the unit doesn't have an eye or anything showing exactly where it is, so I just put it behind and hit a test ball to make sure it was capturing the data.  

I'm still digesting the data I got on yesterdays quick test run.  I will say that I only had a couple not register with the range balls but they were pulls and I was then in the way of the unit.  

The instructions say that if it loses sight, that will happen.

I have one RCT ProV1x, and comparative to balls with the metallic dot, it does quite well in terms of data. Could just be perchance, but so far it seems to do about the same.

Great intros and initial impressions, guys! Looking forward to seeing what you find in data accuracy. I had some of the best accuracy I’ve had with mine indoors last night since I’ve started my offseason. Moved the unit from 6’ to 7’ behind the ball and had closer to probably 9-10’ of flight before hitting the net.

The data accuracy is going to be interesting.  I did a quick bucket yesterday just to figure out set-up and I am still digesting the info I collected but first impressions seem to be pretty accurate on distance based on driving range markers.  I need to double check those markers though with my rangefinder.

Thanks. The range closest to my house only has about 15 ft. behind the hitting area if they have it set up in the back and people walk there.
